Kyle Turley, Hero! Great story and I love that he was able to tell it on the Super Bowl stage. It's a touchy subject these days, evidenced by the back peddling of Nick and the tiptoeing of Marshal but definitely a much-needed conversation, I'm glad I caught this.
One of the coolest things about Katie Nolan is that her brand of comedy, sarcasm, and commentary, is always layered with a point worth making or considering. Even in her early independent YT vids, she has always been a down to earth, common sense type personality and in this era of parody on fire, I can't get enough of and most definitely appreciate.
As far as Med Pot goes, after a horrific work accident, 6 years of surgeries, mountains of prescriptions, CBD's have had a positive impact in my life so I am all about it.
To Nicks, very valid, point, growing up I used pot for a lot of the same reasons, I saw it as a way to check out of societies hierarchy as well as drowning my sorrows. Combined with a serious drinking problem nearly drove my self out of the picture altogether. After obtaining sobriety, many years of reeducating myself to live without substance and alcohol abuse, I became comfortable with who I am and the triggers that would send me on self-destructive paths no longer carry weight in my life, so now I am able to make educated decisions about pain management and the stigmas surrounding this particular "Medication" are not even considerable in the larger scale of the issues I face today.
The most important thing anyone can do, in any situation, let alone one that involves one's health & well being, is become educated, make informed decisions.
As far as the "league" or "sports med" is concerned ...... in my opinion, they are far too buried in their own parodies and to deeply invested in the mainstream narratives to turn it around. It would take an impossible and very expensive leap of humility to admit and correct their mistakes. Which would be the honorable path and one, quite frankly, they absolutely need to take.
From the PeeWee's to D1 and the NCAA, to the HOF's of any division of organized sports, the corruption is so deep that only an act of complete self-deprecation and contrition could restore even a semblance of the respect and honorability was once the benchmark of sports.
Today though, if there is a way to this treatment in mainstream athletics, it will be wrapped in a very loud, convoluted, begrudging, hyper-distorted, purposefully dividing, self-congratulating, narcissistically driven, sappy, B.S. piece of legislation ever conceived by a governing body, as it appears to be the current condition of the mainstream world today.
    Here's hoping!

I was at his house in Moreno Valley, Ca 1998 when Mike Ditka called his mom's phone and she handed it to Kyle and told him" welcome to the NFL son".

I live with pain every day but I live in Philippines now and they do not agree with cannabis helping people so they give out opioids and I am on 360 mg of morphine daily when cannabis would do the same but the govt does not allow it. My dr is one of the pioneers of the opioid use here in PI but he does not agree with cannabis and I cannot convince him. He is a wonderful man that has helped me more than anyone would know but at same time he has hurt me more than anyone will know. The PI has followed the US when it comes to making it illegal but has not followed suit whennusing it to help people. God Bless and pray for changes!

#KyleTurley you were batting 1.000 up until you claimed nobody uses marijuana recreationally. I most certainly do... it certainly isn't to address ringing in my ears or any mental issues or physical pains... I literally can take it or leave it. If I don't like how it smokes, even if it gets me high, I won't smoke that strain twice. I smoke it fir the enjoyment of it and the conversational culture around it.

Your potential. It can affect motivation. It’s great getting high when you have nothing to do. As a Brit I’ve always looked at American football with amazement - they act and look like Captain America. Now we know those guys are are not immortal, that it causes harm. Could it be time to look at how the game is played? Remove the helmets and heavy pads. In Rugby most of the rules are about harm reduction, one massive one is the high tackle rule - ie don’t break necks and paralyse people. Ha I know, that opinion is so in-American, Liberty etc freedom to watch giant young men attack each other in armour 💪

I wish marijuana supporter would stop saying that marijuana doesn't kill you. It's true that the drug itself may not kill you, but the smoking of marijuana is more damaging to your lungs than smoking regular tobacco products. The crimes associated with the trafficking and sales of the drug is very deadly, even where it's legal. Also people under the influence of marijuana have cause many accidents but not as high as alcohol. I'm all for legalized marijuana use, but it show have the same regulations as alcohol.
