    He basically said that teams were all in on developing the slick tires, but when pirelli was asking them to test and develop the inters and wets, no one was interested. So there’s this hypocrisy that teams want a good wet tire, but dont make a single effort to test and develop them.

      💯 true. Max was always going to win the Championship this year - based on his overall performance. But for some reason the FIA and their bizarre decisions are making it easy for some fans to say Max wins his Championships in nefarious and/or illegitimate ways. IMO two things can be right at the same time.
      1. Max is a great talent, deserves this Championship and
      2. The FIA are doing a poor job applying the rules in the manner we’ve all interpreted and come to expect.
      You know its bad when Redbull and other teams (people who’ve done this for a living for decades) come out and say they didn’t know Max had won the Championship (even when taking into account the 5 second time penalty for Leclerc). It’s just chaos, no wonder the fans are so easily split.

There was absolutely no reason at all for Gasly to be driving this fast. If the track is under safety car condition and especially shortly after a crash there could always be marshals on the track trying to aid a driver in need of help. So Gasly had no business whatsoever to go this fast and was rightfully penalised. And had he been going at the speed he was supposed to be going that whole tractor on the track thing would not have nearly as dangerous as it was.

    One of the most important highlight is how cruel that penalty for gasly. He has every right to be furious with how the crane was almost literally beside him. Many drivers support him. It was more scary looking from marshall perspective.
    I think a public apology is due from the FIA and stewards towards gasly, giving how dangerous that situation was
    Yea i know, rule is rule, and FIA wants to be more consistent.
    (edit)
    gasly already clarified that the penalty was for separate incident int T14-15, while the tractor was not in there. so IMO, the penalty was fully deserved.
    but still, come on, that tractor incident was horrifying and gasly has every right TO BE FURIOUS. what is FIA gonna do? fire the marshal and destroy the tractor? pffftttt

    • @JammyDuel
      @JammyDuel Před rokem +9

      How was the penalty cruel? Does the FIA screwing up justify him making the choice to drive dangerously? Not at all. And while people are all going "does the FIA not remember 2014" the same could be asked of Gasly, in what world did he have to go at up to 250kph under red flag conditions? What I find absurd is that the stewards accepted "Well I could have done 300" as mitigation.
      Driving safely is still important for driver safety.

I'm pretty sure once Gasly collects his thoughts for the rest of the week he'll see the other side of the argument. However as some people has said, the red flag should've been brought out immediately after Sainz crashed. Another example of the FIA and race control being scared to make decisions.

      The FIA did a bad job, again, but Gasly deserved the penalty.
      The delta needs to be decreased if the drivers won’t slow down themselves. If Gasly wasn’t told about the tractor, that’s very bad, if he was and still went that fast then some of that is on him

    About the last lap, the danish side also got confused over how it did. They kept saying that Max would need to finish the lap he is on and drive one more when the timer runs out. Max crosses the start/finish line with 2 seconds to go, so following the rule, then he would finish that lap and one more. For some reason when Max was still on that lap (I guessing half way around) then the race director chooses to say last lap. I dont know if it is because of the time, 17:00 local and the sun is going down, or if there was a general f up from the race directors
