Even after shooting for 20+ years, I never liked the 35mm focal length...until I tried this lens and then I HAD TO HAVE ONE. 1000’s of frames later and it has become most cherished piece of glass. Well done.

I have this lens, and can say it's among the sharpest lens in my arsenal and in that arsenal you will find nikon 105 1.4e, sigma 135 1.8, nikon 200mm f2 and others.

I have this lens and I have to say that it's simply incredible.
The pictures that this 35mm produces with my Canon R6 are so beautiful, sometimes I just want to use those photos without any edits to them :D
Great review, I have never brought any other lens other than Nikon, but now decided to get this lens as it seems such a wonderful lens.
IMO Tamron beat Nikon at the very end of the F-mount era with the 15-30, 24-70 and primes like the 35 and 85, also with the 90mm macro. I have them all but the 85 and the 35 1.4 which I will get soon.

It is a complete beast, in terms of size and weight it's up there with my 24-70mm L. But it does what I want it to do and you know you've got a winner when you see the same photo on the screen you saw in your mind when you lifted up the view finder to your eye.

Absolutely fabulous lens (I have it) but has issues with Canon R5 and Canon R6 cameras using the Canon EF-EOS adaptor. For more info, Tamron issued a press release in regards to this and other lenses in late November. This does not affect the Canon R or RP.

Yes and No. Unfortunately, there is no straight answer your question! Though the difference is just 1 stop, the visual quality and the style that 1.4 can give you will be noticeably distinct. Though a Zoom lens offers great convenience compared to a Prime, the very restrictive nature of the Prime will force you to explore different angles/perspectives. To me the second point will be the reason if I have to pick the 35 Prime. 🙏👍

hi radha, in the mid 1980s, 28mm was more popular than 35. it was at that time 35-70 became widely available. you were using a 24mm at that time, I think. by the way, what happened to your MX? where id it go?

@@grrd6322 GoPro is good if your scope is only doing travel photography/videography. It has a wide lens that is suitable for that purpose. To learn the basics and much more about photography and to learn it properly, getting a dslr is highly recommended.

Thank you Subhajit... For your comment. We used to use D850 for filming. Then a Sony and now we use Fuji X-T3 and X-T4 for filming 👍

I am really actually utterly confused in whether to buy this 35 prime or go with 24 70 g2 as I would love to have the versatility to do down the street capture zillion candids in a go than to take a moment to position myself and adapt to my fate but also i have in camera zoom modes i own a 5dsr so i could do everything with this 35 that i can with 24 70 plus more considering the f1.4 aperture and also its optically flawless and relatively inexpensive but then there is image stabilization on the zoom and will i miss 24mm will my landscape shots suffer i am aware that i am nitpicking both ways but as i said i am utterly perplexed.
