You say they can't just churn these out since Song of Nunu took 4 years to take, but that still means that we're getting a hundred of these before the MMO releases
Have finished the game already and it's really as good as everyone's saying, everyone should play this one, it's cute, the story is interesting, you don't need to have previous knowledge of the story to understand or enjoy anything, and most important, it's very fun, perfect game

Song of Nunu is basicly like the Uncharted Saga , you got a character and your game mechanics and you just play out the story from start to finish. Thats something thats rarely done these days , a game having a good story proggresion in a manner without over bloating your character with busted abilities and stat increases , not that those things are bad but when a game is allowed to focus on the story and the gameplay without trying to overbloat it to stand out or follow the norms you get gems , games that play out amazingly with stories you remember forever.
These visuals and your descriptions give me Mini Ninjas vibes, a game I played over and over while in middle school. I'm hyped to try it out! Although, Ruined King will probably still be my #1 Riot Forge game just because one of the greatest women in gaming, Ahri, is in it.
I think Riot realizes the importance of giving this fantastic world a head start with the player's kids. Like my own! I can't wait till my little one is old enough to play and experience with me at their side! And, like any smart marketing, these are seeds. Providing my kiddo with his will get them to enjoy the future of LoL when they're older and more involved. I love it. I love the world of LoL and I can't wait to share it more with my kiddo - brings a tear to my eye!
This really reminds me of the old Ice Age games where you play as the squirrel. I remember having so much fun playing those, so I might give this game a try!
I'm not too interested in the game but I'm thinking of buying it just to support RiotForge so they see people are interested. I really love that the LoL universe is getting these expansions. Super excited for Bandle Tale though

Tbh I haven't been worried about the mmo at all. Especially because I know that the Principal Narrative Designer for the MMO was also the lead quest designer for The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077, Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz.

Croc legend of the gobbos was a game I grew up with together with like the original Rayman. Still love the soundtrack of those games to this day. I like how back then lives actually mattered and if you went game over the game would actually be over, forcing you to start back at 0. Games were also alot harder, be it due to the controlls or the overall level designs, still it made it much more challenging and if you got throught it it felt so much better than most games nowadays. We still see it (hard level designs) in games like Celeste which is probably why I liked it so much. Makes it feel so much better once you beat them.
I think Riot is just AWFUL at marketing their games. I didn't even hear about all the other games except Ruined King and I only knew about it because of the League client. And I only heard about Song of Nunu because of a video on this channel talking about it being developed. I think the only one that was marketed well was Valorant and even then it was mostly relying on hype more than anything. Doesn't really count though since it's not a Riot Forge one

Played through the entire game as well as Ruined King and even tho I love my RPGs Song of Nunu is a new level of quality. My only gripe is how often and for how long camera control is taken away from you and forces you to look at something but maybe thats just my scatter brain wanting to look around so much.
I think there are definitely some other league characters that could easily slot into this type of game. Ivern with the help of some friends of the forest, Neeko and some shapeshifting mechanics, maybe a three vikings/Trine style game with Xayah and Rakan. Also, I want Rammus racing/sonic style game.

It had single and multiplayer. 3 factions that were very different from each other, as well as being different than any other game. It just wasn't marketed much and didn't get the love I think it deserved. My buddies and I played the heck out of it and to this day miss it and hope for a reboot for modern machines! If you ever do a video on "Oldies but goodies" or "Blast from the past" or "Remember these games?" or "Best unknown games of the 90s", I hope you give this one some love so more people hear of it and the chances are increased that it gets revived! Oh and I encourage you to look this game up on Metacritic for a hint as to just how loved this game was.

i believe riot forge it´s one of the best things riot did overall, i love playing indie games more than league and get to see these studios the stuff that can be done with a world like runeterra it´s awesome. My favorite gotta be the sylas one but i didnt play convergense (finals exams on my country) and my pc can´t run song of nunu but im looking forward to enjoy my time with them (new pc on deliver boyy)
Considering that they are unifying the universe in league it makes sense why the game took so long so I don't mind and rather appreciate it much more I also like how all of the Riot Forge games each took one region to make their game so that it can be explored and makes me wish for more games region specific before getting into the MMO
I hope this sets a standard for riot forge games. Riot forge is a great publisher for indie games but I can see some AA or AAA games in the future. For example a Katarina/Talon Assassins Creed like, or a soulslike where you play yasuo. I can really see that happen one day

The gigantic success of Baldur Gate 3 showed that turn-based RPGs are still popular. Plus, from what I know, Ruined King is the most famous game of all Riot Forge games and I hear conversations about it the most even outside the LoL fandom.
I wonder if they just kept making games like these Somehow they have the story depth of the now obsolete universe website stories but also the visual immersion of the animated cinematics without the overwhelming sidequests which I think is a great way of delivering a lot of the in universe lore Honestly a good way to tell stories though the creation is of course quite time consuming
the sensitivity was fine for me and I have a lower then normal dpi if 400. the normal is 800-1000 and the default felt normal to me. though I play on low sense normally I lower it. also rebinding the flute is very handy for playing easier. I also didn't have to move and play the flute from memory.
Willump got stuck in the ship for me and when I walked over to him, Nunu jumped onto him and wouldn’t get off. I ended up having to restart from the previous checkpoint. 😅
@@SquidGains hehe, the older you get, the better 7 hours sound. If they told me the game is 100 hours, that would not be good for me. Just pointing out it's an interesting change that happens over time! I've talked to other people and this change seems to be more common than not.

the freeplay on the flute reminds me of majoras mask and ocarina of time music covers with the instruments
