I don't understand why this wasn't on the album. It's vintage DM - it would fit right in on Black Celebration.

(Ive been aware of them but always skipped them) and Ive been listening to them since they started.Seeing it through your eyes,as it were,puts a new perspective on the music.👍

@@SephPlays I love this little song. Dave's voice is so sweet and the way it's treated in the frame of the lyrics and musical arrangement is very touching. Dave's plaintive tone works beautifully in my opinion. I find it very catchy. It gives me goose bumps.

Great reaction seph. Definitely better after a few listens. And Definitely something not holding it together. Probably the style of singing. Could be better if the singing was lower in the mix and less high in pitch 🤔

See? The last two bonus songs weren't so bad. You can really hear them experimenting with these, they're quite unconventional even by depeche standards. Taken as a whole it's like a hidden ep or something. I love them. This is the last album that was mostly great. Delta Machine has some bright moments but it was a big letdown after this. Heaven here we come!
For me it lacking production level of the rest of the album, which is still their biggest in all discography to be fair.
This is a damn good song but like you said it’s lacking something to make it a great song and now we know why it’s a b-side.
An OK song I guess
Personally I think this track would of been a good fit for the last track on the album. nice snare sound too. Tbh the album is ok but long as they tried to fit everything in like instumentals, daves songs, martin wanted x amount of songs on the album so it just got too long.but this track light I always used to listen to it on my way to work in the ice winter and darkness, it helped me start the day.
Could have been great. But it suffers from lack of punch, ridiculously weak „drums“ and the overall bleepy production of the SOTU era. Nevertheless the best bonus track of that album. Great melody and good lyrics.
It's decent..better than a few tracks on the album. I find the simplistic music a bit tiresome, much like i do on most of Exciter.
Ben hillier or what his name was destroyed depeche modes sound...the only album of him as a producer i like is delta machine 😢..!!..this is a ok track..nothing more 😊
Well put: "It's great, but it's lacking something". I think they are just simply passed their prime and they don't reach the highs they did in the 80/90's anymore, with Alan absent and all. Unfortunately, it's downhill from here, except a slight return to form with the latest album (due to better co-writers and producers I guess)
Massive fan for 40yrs. Great electronics but sounds weak as hell, with a terrible bridge... would of been great on the album... rhat was pretty lame too. Hate saying it... they're producing music on vapours of the past.... sadly
Thank god you have gone through all SOTU B-sides now. I like none of them. Time to move on with Delta Machine, the next song is great!
