You belong to the streets but please don’t hit them, a couple more lessons and learn to add gas when taking off otherwise you will stall all the time on the real road, causing panic like most L platers. Good luck!

Props to anyone learning manual on their first ever car. As a confident Auto driver, it's scary to see Dev learn maneuvers while learning a manual gearbox. Awesome that Clay is staying calm even when she almost hit the Hilux.

In my country learning on manual is standard and automatic is only an option. And is a costly option because if you are taking an exam on automatic then your driving license is only for automatic, while manual have no restrictions.
But we have it made completely different and only a certified instructor can legally teach you how to drive on roads. It's costly, but they have a lot of experience teaching how to drive so you're learning quickly. And they also have cars modified specially for this with extra clutch and brake on passenger side, so instructor can save you if you screwed something badly.

When you were standing at the end outside ikea I realised it has a similar colour scheme to the Subaru

I did clutch all the way n as im pushing clutch I break with no stalls just started
learning a emergency stop which is brake only and stall it out is another good lesson that helps people understand how it all works

Good idea to get her some advanced driving lessons with Driver Dynamics as she can learn to control the car including emergency braking etc in a safe environment.

It is definitely one of the best things to do and she can use her own car and they have sessions at Sandown raceway so you are off the road and can learn without the worry of hitting anything.

I learned to drive in an automatic transmission car, which is probably better for someone who has never driven any car before. Learning how to operate manual transmission after shouldn't be too hard because you'll already know how to use signals, steering properly, accelerate and brake, etc.
That's true, but it would make for a less interesting video. More fun to put her into the deep end lol.

Think you were teaching her wrong about brakes. The way I was thought if you're braking below 10mph put the clutch in but anything above that is fine for brakes alone
It doesn't depend on speed, but revs. On higher gear you would need to use a clutch at higher speed.
Basically use clutch when you are close to a minimal revs your car can go. So on gear 1 you would be even slower, but on higher gears you it would be much faster.
Rally car 🤣
WRX's are amazing cars, but that isnt a rally car. There is a huge difference between driving a car fast in the road, and going full attack in a properly full spec rally car on closed roads on gravel.
If you do this again I'd highly recommend you drive the car around a bit they observe. It's kind of impossible to explain with words. Also, moving the car without throttle and only using the clutch is a really bad habit to learn. It's fine in a pinch but you are going to wreck the transmission doing that all the time.
Clay what are you doing mate ......omg.....For someone who has never driven a car before, I would of taught her in a run around automatic car just so she can get the hang of driving, then once she is reasonably good at driving only then I would of taught her how to drive a manual. Thats the way I would prefer, that way your not throwing her in deep end.
