I guess the silver lining is going to be rom preservation. Most of these crappy products will fall by the waste side only to be sought after many yrs in the future only for SD cards and roms.
This is by far the most HONEST review I have seen. Thank you for this....
Your "can run on a potato or your moms vibe" comment killed me LOLOLOLOLOL
5 hours of effort from the manufacturer in producing their image for these things would make all the difference in the world. Imagine if they took it seriously and treated it like their real job.....
Or they could steal romsets from arcadepunks if they want to make it seem like they did the work. Whatever method they used is not just lazy but also incompetent.
Let me start out by saying... I know there is a ton of irony in being critical of a company who already puts out a retro console that from hardware to software was stolen and probably built with child labor... but I digress.
While there are 100,000 games on this box, this is probably the 10,000th retro box like this that has been mass produced and all by the same country.... China.
That being said... holy shit China, can't you get your shit together?
If one man can put together a RetroPi build, with a competent and filtered rom dump, and put in a reasonable amount of testing into each emulator and spot check... I dunno, maybe the two dozen games people MIGHT actually play first when booting this jam up... why can't a small team of Chinese pirates?
I mean... they only have to do the rom dump filtering effort once. Outside of hacks and maybe newer language patch roms (which again, they aren't producing, just stealing)... they aren't making many new roms for these 20-40yo emulators. It's kind of "small/medium/large" size you'd have to create, then dump your already filtered roms into the buckets of the new build every time you do this. Its time spent now that you can replicate and not have to do later.
Every time you built one of these you could test a different 24 roms of each build... and eventually... you could be confident you aren't using shit or repetitive roms at the very least.
Who cares about a full 512gb SD card when what most people REALLY want could fit on a 128gb SD card. So save yourself money there and actually hire someone to do this barely technical work already and stop making the same damn mistakes?
I swear... these retro kits are just assembled with unsold tech stock from product lines that didn't sell as well as they hoped.
This is probably how it goes down:
Foreman: "Hey Bruce... warehouse 56, you know, the one in the desert manufacturing town from 3 years ago we abandoned... there are like 1000 mini PC's and 2000 crappy controllers... what are we gonna do with all that? Landfill?"
Bruce: "I got an idea, lets buy a bunch of 512gb SD cards that are really 256gb SD cards, throw a buncha emulators in and 25,000 roms, but we'll copy the rom dumps 4x so its really 100,000 and sell the package for... I dunno.... $99."
Foreman: "What a great idea Bruce! Make it $219 and we'll send a bunch to American CZcamsrs to review them. So... Can you have it ready by (looks at watch) lunchtime tomorrow?"
Bruce: "On it sir! please don't turn my family into Soylent Green, hail great leader Xi Jinping".
This, all of this. Honestly, I have no sympathy for anyone who buys this.
Thank you for your honest review!
I'd recommend just getting an Android TV box and doing this yourself. I'd bet you could get this same box, for cheaper and if you watch to type of roms an emulators you put on it you'll get much better performance. If your buying a box like this for emulation I'm going to assume you don't care about downloading roms and emulators
You sold me on _"Smelly ass case"_ lol
I have my games set up on lunchbox, but these are still interesting to watch. Because well you know who's going to have time to play every single game. lol.
I do not understand why a company would be upset about a realistic review. You are manufacturing a cheap android box running illegal games and selling it at a premium with cheap controllers and cables, what does one expect.
Because it hurts their get rich quick scheme.
I really like the Japanese version of Ninga Gaiden 3 well at least it has a password option on the title screen!
I think he’s reviewed enough of these rom dump boxes now that he could film a top 3 or top 5 best and worst list lol
I hope he does I need to buy one
What a great review! It is hard to make a decision of what console to buy. I ended up getting a super console cube x3 because it had a fan in it to provide cooling. Purchased it off of Ali Express, it was much more cheaper than Amazon, had to wait awhile for delivery but no big deal when you can save almost forty bucks. You are right, the selling of these style consoles over and over is really getting old. Until a release of a reasonably priced console that will play all the games listed without a glitch, we are stuck but the ones that do play are so much fun!!
Very good video, thanks again MLP for showing this.
I just found this guy on my suggestions..and he is funny AF
Thanks for the laughs today!
Wow that's the most straight up honest review no holding back lol!
Smelling like "industrial waste and cigarette ash"
I appreciate this kind of honesty.
I bought 3 years ago a console from a french web site, it was not cheap but...20 000 games and almost NO duplicate!!! Everything works perfectly, the menu are well done, professional menu included for all games you have pictures of the cassettes, cover case and animate video of the game...
Chinese aren’t known for quality
I did bought one of these boxes the one that cost less than $50 with 33,000 games or something like that because I am the type of guy that works with tools and does manual labor but doesn't know how to deal with a computer.
And I know that I can learn watching videos how to make one of these but I will have to buy a computer that cost around $500 so that's the reason why I will buy one of these boxes I wouldn't spend over $200 because I know they are not worth it.
I enjoy watching your videos and I appreciate the feedback that you give so I can learn which one to get thank you.
When it comes to retro consoles. You're best with a mini pc. Android devices are pants. IE Lightning Modz V2 Elite console, in which I consider the best retro console out there.
Hey hey! My mother's a widow! She's got to have her fun somehow!
5:57 🤣 dude u killed me "surprise mudafukas"
Had me at industrial waste! In for 3 👏🏽😁
Toxic waste
Soulja boy gonna sue!
Crank that
@@raycert07 😅
I always go to the price link first, before watching these.. Way over priced, I'm out. Thanks for sharing tho
Yeah even if this thing is perfect i’m not paying $200+
Same here dude. The technology is here. I just want the perfect build at the right price. They don't have to supply their controllers either.
Ok I know most of your videos are saying these are shitty…now which ones are good? What do you recommend? Raspberry pi right now are super expensive, and I don’t have the time to sift through all the bullshit and find games/emulators that work. Have you ever came across one that was pretty decent at least?
Man, the criticisms are spot on for this thing.
I love your reviews. Say it like it is!
Ron u had me rollin 🤣
I love when I can't tell if its a Madlittlepixel review or a roast. Great stuff as always!
Just buy the android tv box and load it up with emuelec yourself, save a ton of money.
Its a lot of work...but its better to do it yourself. But I don't blame people for wanting to go this route. A lot easier to just buy a premade unit even if its loaded with too many roms. Batocear has a script you can run and it will delete repeats, games in other locations etc
I cannot believe how much money these underpowered, cheaply built, sloppily put together pieces of garbage are now! Somebody must be buying them.
This is why I watch reviews to actually see what's out there and to decide for myself what to spend my $ on what not to and so far nothing has peeked my interest. All these retro consoles out there with multiple same games and way WaY WAY over priced.....I'll keep my money in my pocket thanks.
PS. Thanks for the review....I agree with you as well...they are very sloppily put together...
It would be nice for a program to exist that allows you to select what regions you want and delete all of the copies
Finally someone called out the inflated game counts on these builds!
I build Hyperspin PCs with 4tb setups that only have about 40,000 games but there are no duplicates.
100,000 games on a 512gb sd card is an absolute lie.
do you have a website to look at and order them?
@@tomsettles6873 Sorry, I don't. I was just commenting on my own preferences when making a Hyperspin setup and how unrealistic the game count was on the reviewed setup.
No care and effort is put into these types of systems. Same overpriced low end hardware you see on every system that struggles to play many of the games. Lots of duplicates and terrible controllers.
I’m one of the guys that would love to see someone finally do this right, that isn’t me. Lol
@@bukko May as well build your own with a Raspberry Pi 4 or something similar. At least you know it will be built right and not a hacked together shoddy build like most of these prebuilts are.
@@gregsmith9183 Yeah I mean I know I can, I just really don’t want to. To me it’s like reinstalling Windows every few years after everything slows down. I’ve done it enough times to the point that I’d just like to buy something and know it’s all done for me. I’m super lazy and “over it”.
Not that it matters but honestly it’s a headache I’m not missing doing mostly console gaming over PC, and using Apple phones now. I used to love PC modding / mods, and sideloading Android.. but as I get older the less I just want the little brain power I have left to stress about it anymore when it requires research and troubleshooting.
Good video and review of this system!
$219 boy bye I rather wear Walmart shoes 😂😂
What is a good system to use for emulation for dreamcast and sega Saturn besides a pc
Nvedia shield android TV is the best option it even do emulation better than some old PCs
Thanks
Get an Ayn Odin pro with the dock. It will run everything up to ps2 and as a bonus you can go handheld with a monster 6600mAh battery or use the dock and plug it to a tv for some couch co-op goodness
Love watching the coverage of these systems. The link however seems to go to a different product with what looks like a new mini with 600 games on it!
I've seen a lot of these sellers edit the listing with a different product so they can keep the reviews from the previous item. Very classy
so what is a better quality retro console that will play the various Sega, NES, SNES, PS1, Arcade, N64, etc. games properly with nice graphics and no lag? I'll pay more to get a good one.
I’m in the minority probably here, but I wish someday I could buy a 16-32 TB set up (meaning whole preconfigured mid / mini PC) that could play up to ps3/360 era games and would be all pre configured with care, for all systems (configured to a ps4 controller).
I bought a 8TB hard drive that has a ton of stuff through ps2 era, and everything was “mostly” cared for but one example is the configs were not updated from Xbox and I didn’t want to buy and get used to a new controller. Other things were preferences for scan lines and wrong aspect ratios, or just personal set up that they did nothing with. When I agreed to buy it I double checked to make sure they were able to accommodate my request for certain settings and configs, and they basically ignored it all, and I noticed when booting it up. These little things just add to my frustration. At some point I’m cleaning it all up and config’ing again. Then I run an update or something and boom now all my folders are messed up and nothing runs right. This just stresses me out and I put it down until I go back a year later and remember why it wasn’t worth another headache so I’m stuck playing NES/Genesis/SNES again for a bit before I keep wanting more, but not wanting to do more.
While I know having someone do the ultimate job in curation / config would be expensive. I just wish someone would do it so it’s near perfect. Literally plug the system in and play. No fuss at all.
I do also have ps classics mostly running 0.9 with OTG just fine but there’s always something just “off” in my folders or I don’t want to take the time to load Sega CD stuff properly, or the screen is in 16:9 instead of 4:3.. etc. easy fixes but I am really done messing around with stuff myself. Some people live for it. I am not one that enjoys that. I do like to play whatever whenever and have it just, work.
Thanks.
thank you
I see JoJo.
"Eh, might as well pick it up"
Yikes! They must have been using a very very old 3do emulator to not have backgrounds in samurai Showdown. 3DO is something I'd like to emulate on a raspberry pi 4 or whatever.
My mom's Vive? Dint know she had VR
Their game list can be updated by connecting to the server. I just bought a 256G hyper base R1. The game is very fun, not as bad as the blogger said! The price is also worth it
@@Retrovertigo53 People who have not bought the product are criticizing
Love you mad! 👊
which console should i buy to play cricket 2007 game, i used to play this game in ps2
I’m still looking for the best one to buy please keep them coming and if you can recommend the best one please let me know
My biggest issue with these is cheap controllers like I feel like I'm going to break it while playing. Can you recommend one that actually has good controllers? I'm really just looking for a plug and play with nes/SNES/N64 for under $50
There is is always gonna be an idiot thats like WOW !!! look at all the games you get !! they are born every day ....
I can't even figure out how to exit a game once you start playing. Do you have to just turn it off every time?
Can you review super console x3 + ?.
the link you provided for the console said that it included 9000 games!
salve, posso chiedere un'informazione? io ho acquistato il prodotto, ma gli emulatori N64, Psp,Ps non funzionano molto bene. Sono lenti. Come posso fare?
what would people suggest for emulator enthusiast builds for sale?
Is there a preloaded box that you recommend? Looking for Saturn and Dream Cast.
Do you recommend this over the super console x pro? Thanks
can you remove games?
Holy rip-off Batman! Mr. Pixel nice video as always friendo...see ya
You have reviewed a lot of these plug and play systems. Is any of them any good? I've been searching your reviews but I can't find one you liked.
No, they are garbage. Best thing to do is find someone to just emulate a system for u if u don't know how to do it....like me lol
I've never crossed the 32GB line for this kind of device. I'm pretty sure that if you get something with more than 5k games on it, you'll end up with a lot of arcade games that won't work and screwed rom lists that makes the proccess of finding a game extremely irritating
PSX roms and other more "advanced" than consoles could have big 1GB, even N3DS etc .. so 32 GB could be reached pretty soon ;)
Do you have a recommended emulation box?
How many sega cd games are on there and do they have issues and does the save features in the games work?
It's the Scrapers that mess it all up . Example if you have a game that's called Alien 1 another game called Alien 2 and Alien 3 the scraper with just call all 3 games Alien and give all the 3 different roms the same name and box art. Then it all becomes one sloppy mess . lol
Can you link me to a smooth build please?
Ok! But tell me this, is there one of these that’s actually good?
Can you put any kind of emulator on it like raspberry pi
Ron Quote of the Day "PS1 can run on your Mom's vibe"
"Can you review my product, and pretend it's not a piece of sh*t?"
Man, is it possible to emulate every N64 game on PC without graphic glitches?
Not yet due to the way so many developers used custom compression and codecs for different games to get them onto a relatively small amount of space there is no one graphics plug in that seems to be able to tackle them all. It has gotten to the point where Sega Saturn emulation has caught up and in many ways surpassed it.
@@freddiejohnson6137 Thanks for the info. I guess the 10 n64 games I own and the various remakes and remasters have to do for now. But that is very good news as I really miss playing Sega Saturn games. Die Hard Arcade is just...awesome!
Please test sega saturn *"MR BONES"*
PLEASE(:
Man how many of these are gonna be made?
What is a good plug n play that Has everything from arcade to like ps3 or 360 ?
Good PS3 emulation is difficult as a result of its unique hardware.
Youll need a pc build obviously...and who knows if there is a "good" plug n play that does that. You are asking a lot lol
@@retroman-- yea I'm it can't up to 360 to just mostly 3r party games from that Era but like something I can take with me n plug n play u know I'm new to all this lol
I guess they deleted their comments?
Soulja game
This company should really be ashamed of putting this type of device out to the masses plus the price is just ridiculous, i'm overjoyed for my super console x Pro & King 😁.
super console x Pro?Rubbish!
Super console X Pro is rubbish. I was unfortunate enough to buy one and it wasn't as good. The hyper base R1 is better quality and has more games!
What has this world come to, when I can't buy quality illegal video game stuff!?!?
Why even do it if you can’t even organize the games?
Looks like someone repurposed some old free to air satellite (FTA) boxes for this mess lol
Over 200 bucks for this thing?!?
A Brazilian guy made this image and put for free and the Chinese just stole it!
Come on, man. You really expect us to believe you don't like... A NICE SLOPPY ROM DUMP?
Cuz that's not what your browsing history would suggest. =P
220 is asking way too much for what it really is.
*my web browser does what this console does*
hellz to the no

👍👍
dude i can recreate that devices for cheaper and better interface
would you be able to recommend a good emulator that plays snes prince of Persia?
Hmm, multiple copies of the exact same game. Nothing to see here moving on. 🙂
200 USD? LMAO...
Oh China....😆
Watch Soulja Boy try to flip this into another Soulja Game Console and sell it for $300 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
they used super console x software on cheap hardware and the result is this junk
Wow, what a huge piece of crap. The reason why there are so many duplicates is because instead of using No-Intro roms, which are curated to not have duplicates, they use GoodSet roms which are filled with bad dumps, overdumps, hacks, trainers, etc. So it's pretty common to see one game have like 10 different ROM versions.
