      You are welcome. Don't stress to much about it. About half of patients with diabetes have this problem. Work closely with your doctor and fix it, if it's affecting your A1c too much. If it's just a mild increase and your blood sugar readings are normal during the day, then don't worry.

    Very good video! I have type 2 diabetes for over a year know and have been watching Beat Diabetes. I went from A1C of 15 to 5.9. Hoping to be down to 5.6 or 5.7 by January. My dawn phenomenon usually is 130 to 140. I think it is because I take some meds in the morning. Is that too high?

    • @Type-2-Diabetes
      @Type-2-Diabetes  Před rokem

      Hi Karen, that is a great achievement. Beat Diabetes is a channel that I recommend to patients with Type 2. 130 to 140 is a little high if you're young. If not, it isn't too bad. Thanks

    My mom has cirrhosis of the liver, she was diagnosed about 7 years ago. She's had diabetes for maybe 9 years now, only last year we were able to get her blood sugar under control through using a keto diet (and thanks to Dennis Pollack!). She will still get higher numbers in the morning, even if she stopped eating after dinner, sometimes as high as 160. If her liver has been damaged by the cirrhosis, is it possible that her body still makes the glucose to try and repair? I'd really like to hear your thoughts.

    • @Type-2-Diabetes
      @Type-2-Diabetes  Před 4 lety

      Yes, her liver is still making glucose. If our liver can't make glucose we can't live for long as any hypoglycemia would be devastating. Thanks

      @@Type-2-Diabetes Are you saying that the DP is a bad thing? After dinner it might be 90-125. In morning first reading is could be 101 then it creeps up to 116 after BM (sorry) then up after brushing teeth and shower. 157. It's frustrating! I drink water and it goes up more then eventually down.

    A question Doctor: if you have high blood sugar in the morning on an empty stomach (105) mg / dl is immediately to worry about it,so there is a problem already? Or could it be that it's a one time thing and not permanently? Thanks a lot!🙏🏻

    I'm in the process (paperwork) for hopefully getting an insulin pump and needed to take a C-Peptide test, the result being 1.4 ng/mL. What does this figure mean, in layman's terms. I started on pills years ago and have been on MDI for about 4 yrs.

    Hello Dr Vladmir, i have been practising OMAD for at least 2 months on a low carb diet. So before meals, my blood before food is about 5, and after meals, about 5.6 so all good and my eating window is about 40 minutes simply because I am not hungry. When I wake up, my sugar is 7.1 and after an hour (despite not eating or drinking anything) is 8.1 and during the day until my meals, the blood sugar gradually comes down. From what I can see, I am still insulin resistant and that the healing will take time.
    From what I gather from your video , the glucose rise is not due to Insulin which is good I guess
    Any advise?

    • @Type-2-Diabetes
      @Type-2-Diabetes  Před 4 lety +2

      Yes that how how many people who experience the down phenomenon look like. There are two things to keep in mind: 1- If it is improving with time; 2- If it's affecting your A1c too much.

    Is there a way to tell if your insulin resistance is at the cell level or the liver?

    • @Type-2-Diabetes
      @Type-2-Diabetes  Před 3 lety +2

      If you do a glucose tolerance test, the first 30min correlates more to the liver IR, and the last part correlates more with muscle IR. There are specific tests that can check it with precision but they are kind of invasive. And in general, no matter where the IR is, it's still at the cellular levels (Ex: your liver cells).
