Gavin's logic isn't even that flawed at all, when it comes to culture suicide he's pretty spot on if you look what most first world countries look like and declining birth rates in certain mono ethnic or at least what used to be mono ethnic countries. Destiny's claim: "death certificates only have one cause of death" is categorically false. Death certificates generally contain 4 or 5 causes of death. Listing covid-19 as a cause of death would be among them those 4 or 5 causes. Therefore, the reporting covid as a COD misrepresents covid morbidity statistics UNLESS you control for the other COD comorbiditiy factors.

I regularly listen to his show, and can't tell you how many times he has been ranting and pontificating, and with obvious hyperbole, he ends up "steel-manning" the opposing argument and utterly failing to reckon with the steel man he offered. No one really even needs to debate Gavin, because you let him go long enough and he undermines his own argument better than any opposing debater could. My favorite is when people say 'all the doctors recommend the vaccine for everyone' - as if even 10% of doctors actually looked at the data, initial studies, occurrence of adverse effects, duration of efficacy, and performed a risk/benefit analysis for each individual person. They didn't.
They saw that the CDC was telling everyone they should get it and that docs were being attacked professionally for questioning it, so turned off their brains and were just compliant.
The same people who whine about free healthcare also wanna jump on the vaccine, if the government doesn’t care about your health why would you trust them to give you a vaccine. Lmao

Regarding poolshitters, Gavin is making a subtle point that is completely blowing past Destiny. The point of discussion, particularly adversarial discussion, is to allow a very wide net of opinions so that perhaps the truth can be captured. Destiny takes the view, common among intelligent lefty types, that he already knows the truth, and therefore he can make the net tiny and targeted and still capture the truth.
What he doesn't realize is that he MAY be right - but there are very few things that we all agree to KNOW. If you get the wrong people deciding the size of the net, it is likely they will mess it up and make the net too small and cast in the wrong pool. And the likelihood of picking the right net picker is going to be a fool's errand, especially when the alternative is to just make the net as big as possible.
Are you post truth? Just because some idea that hasn’t yet been heard yet might be true doesn’t mean that there is some other idea on whether 2 + 2 = 4. Destiny isn’t saying we know every good or bad thing that can be done with a pool, he’s saying that we know that shitting in the pool is bad.
making unsubstantiated claims about medicine is not the process to make “diverse opinions” any more than creating a llm to make shit up is. Destiny continuously said that JRE could have been justified had he had a critical view of his guests claims. This would have made his guest have to justify or substantiate his claims or have his claims be marginalized. That is when diverse opinions are good. When we can test them against substantiated claims and known truth.
