TRIP REPORT | This New Lufthansa is Much Better | Los Angeles to Munich | Lufthansa Airbus A350

- Lufthansa Trip Report flying from Los Angeles to Munich onboard one of the Lufthansa Airbus A350 on a nice afternoon and morning over the USA and Europe.
A comfortable flight from Los Angeles to Munich onboard the Lufthansa A350 on a beautiful afternoon over California and Nevada as well as over Europe. The flight was completely full but still, the journey was quite ok, maybe because of the updated Lufthansa onboard service.
After an amazing planespotting session at Los Angeles International Terminal (definitely one of the best for planespotting worldwide), we boarded the Lufthansa A350 that would take us to Germany. We took off toward the Pacific Ocean, and once over the thick cloud layer that was covering Los Angeles, we made a more than 180° turn to start our route to Munich.
We flew in parallel to the San Bernardino mountains and entered Nevada. After leaving Las Vegas on our right and The Grand Canyon on the right, we entered Utah and continued our journey towards the north of the Rocky Mountains. Before reaching them, we met the night after a nice Sunset. During the night, over Canada, we could spot some Aurora Borealis. I hope you'll enjoy that beautiful view.
The Sunrise took place over the Atlantic Ocean, after passing Greenland and before reaching Ireland. We flew from Galway to Dublin and then in a direct course to London. We crossed the English Channel and entered Belgium. From there direct to Frankfurt and, finally, Munich, where we landed on time.
But let's talk about the elephant in the room: the renewed Lufthansa onboard service. First of all, I must tell you that YES! IT HAPPENED!. Lufthansa has finally updated its onboard service for, at least, the flights from the US west coast. Now they finally offer 2 warm meals! And, I must say that the main meal looks more elaborated, with not the typical chicken or pasta options.
In our case, we took beef as main. It came with a salad, a piece of lemon cheesecake, and bread with cheese and butter. The breakfast was just 1 option: some kind of simple quiche (mainly egg) with steamed potatoes and tomato sauce. A yogurt and a cereal bar were also included. I missed here some fresh fruit. That would be the perfect one, but it was fine. I can't complain, especially knowing the old service...

Love the Airbus A350-900 very nice airplane airliner all airlines brilliant plane. Nice trip report. Lufthansa Germany's airline.
It's a great plane! I always enjoy a lot flying on them :)
Great video. I often choose Lufthansa when flying to Europe from my home in Chicago. The seats in business better match my body type as I am broad shouldered. The United Polaris seats are too narrow for my shoulders in bed mode and I have a hard time sleeping in them. The Lufthansa seats are not very private and older but much more comfortable for me. That is why I book them. The food is pretty German which is fine but the other big plus is the efficiency of flying Lufthansa. They are pretty consistent and there rarely is a problem but if there is, they set it right. As much as I love Swiss and SAS trans-Atlantic, I am a Lufthansa fan. I've flown their A350, A340-300, A340-600, 747-400 and the 747-8 as well as their narrow-body A319s, A320s and A321s. The narrow-bodies are a bit tight in leg room (I'm very tall as well) but they block the middle seat in business which helps. Munich airport is fantastic and one of my favorites in Europe. If you ever have the chance to fly Lufthansa in First Class, do it. I upgraded once and it was an absolutely amazing experience.

I'm currently planning a trip on the Lufthansa A340-600! Hopefully it will be possible as I really loved the onboard service and the plane A346 is already unique! :)
Next Saturday we'll have for the first time the Etihad A380 on the channel :)
I prefer flights from Munich to LAX than the other way around... Those feel much more like vacation time imho ☺☺

I said it many times... that I wanted to make this video. And finally LH improved and here it is :)

They used to be brilliant when I started flying with them in the early 2000’s long-haul. Then they became a huge mess! The massive chaos of FRA, plus an extremely mediocre hard product (the beautiful mighty A340 was a pain to fly in) and a catering… I always had hopes on them though, I have always thought their crews are amongst the most professional, caring and nice in all Europe.
My question is, is the service over the whole fleet good or Just in the latest Planes they got? For example the Entertainment System in the LH 747-8 is awful, and the one in the a350 here was big and seemed quite good to handle
@@liebnhaider It a lottery really, Lufthansa probably has/going to have the biggest variety in hard products, because they went on a shppping spree with undelivered planes intended for other carriers and they are also planning on introducing a new custom seat.

bastante comodo y buenas vistas con este viaje. Lufthansa was my parents favourite airline when I was child, we travelled many times to and from Chile to Brasil and Europe.
It used to be my first option to fly from Madrid to Europe (via Frankfurt and Munich). I remember I was always happy to pay the extra money compared to other airlines, as they offered a full meal on flights of more than 2h:30min inside Europe... Not anymore...
I'm pleased to see them recovering some service, compared to all the last years, in which any change was always for worse.
Beautiful flight with extra luck in the form of the two other planes in the vicinity as well as the northern lights. And the sun set was not bad at all.

Muy bonito el vídeo, para empezar en el Aeropuerto de Los Ángeles los aviones que había eran impresionantes y también me ha gustado la sombra del avión sobre las nubes y ver otros aviones en vuelo cerca hacia otras rutas; también ha sido impresionante la Aurora Boreal así cómo la puesta de sol muy bonita por cierto , y por último me alegro que Lufthansa haya decidido mejorar eso sin duda le animara a mas gente a subir a esa compañía en largo radio y ya por último si que sería interesante un vuelo con ANA a Tokyo . La verdad es que fue un vuelo bastante completo... con la guinda de la mejora en el servicio de Lufthansa. Tengo comprados 1 billete en el 747 y otro en el A380 de LH. Será un placer hacer vídeos en esas bestias con un servicio al nivel de las mismas! :))

Good afternoon sir very nice video once again. Love the 350 aircraft wish my company had the 350 verses the 787. As for the service it's nice to see that Lufthansa is improving there service with the hotel morning breakfast I hope all other airlines follow this service as well including the company I fly for. It's nice to be able to provide such a wonderful service to our guest. I hope you guys will do videos where I can see you so I know who enjoys aviation like me thanks again Happy Holidays

Great trip report sir, and finally Lufthansa have upgraded there game and about time, I think the A350 will have some success as the wide body twin, but to be honest this award is has already been won by the Boeing 787, and they are still outselling the A350 and this is the twin which will dominate the Atlantic.

I do appreciate the sound of the angine (white noise) …very calming effect…. So that is why I don’t like music in background during the flight.

Supongo que este servicio aplicará a SFO, LAX y luego tal vez Japón, Corea, Singapur... mismos tiempos de vuelo aproximadamente. Para rutas más cortas parece ser que también lo han mejorado pero no a este nivel.

I'm going to be flying on the Lufthansa A350 to Bangkok in a couple of months, first time I have flown the 350 so looking forward to it... I know most people will laugh at this but I really enjoy the 330 and would absolutely choose that over the 787 or the 777.

Btw, a meal in a mountain hut with polenta and, in sequence, beef, deer, sausages, cheese, even butter or milk, especially in winter, is like flying over the top

Lufthansa will resume flying to Manila, Philippines direct from Frankfurt next year and will be using the Airbus A350-900.
To serve 2 hot meals on a 9 hrs.+ flight does make sense.
But 2 hot meals on a 6 hrs.+ flight?
I prefer to sleep, rather than to be woken up earlier, because to serve a hot meal takes a little longer than just a cold snack.
For me it is perfectly fine to have just 1 hot meal on a flight below 9 hrs.
Doesn't need to be 2 hot meals, but definitely something more than the classic muffin.
