    I've lived in Arizona for 33 years now and definitely ready to move! But don't get me wrong, people love it here if you're not from here ha ha. If I could recommend any city to move to it would be Gilbert Arizona. It's probably the cleanest and most family friendly city there is. Downtown Gilbert is the new Scottsdale FYI! Several new restaurants and bars on Gilbert Road. If you like clean roads, new restaurants and strip malls, fast food restaurants, brand-new houses that all look the same and the sun in your face all day
 This is the place for you! You could easily get a three bedroom two bath, 1800 square-foot house with the three car garage and a pool for $280,000 in Gilbert. Not bad right!?!?

    I moved to Phoenix from Miami, FL two and a half years ago and I could not be happier. It's way easier to get a job, way cheaper, the roads are easier to drive through, and the weather is not as humid. I also love that the people are more conservative and are not all up in your face. Some people complain about the people being "dry" and "boring" but I don't see that. They are quieter but once you get to know them they are good-hearted. People in Florida are loud, annoying, stupid, and crass compared to here. Not to mention all the nasty New Yorkers we have to deal with in Florida. I love that so many people from the Midwest live here too and not too many from New York, although lately the NYers are pouring into Arizona, ugh. The education system here is way better. Now as for the cons beware that there is a lot of property crime here and crime in general is a problem. Be careful where you choose to buy or rent here. The rule is you get what you pay for. Do not rent very cheap apartments because those are full of people who have been through the system and are not the nicest, eg druggies, dealers, mentally unstable, hookers, what have you. There are LOTS of people in this city who have drug problems as well. Also the 3 months of summer are not for the faint of heart. It does get very hot. Other than that if you work hard you can move up here and live in a nice place with LOTS to do and just a short drive from such awesome places like LA, San Diego, and Vegas, or you can go to Salt Lake City or Idaho for a weekend getaway. GOOD LUCK!

    50+ year old native Arizonan here (Phoenix area), welcome to Arizona and good video. Thanks for defending dry heat, it IS REAL. What I tell people is that if you can get through July and August (heat plus humidity) you've got it made. Even July and August can be a wild card and decent for periods of time depending on whether we get rain. Also there's some good stuff to see in the southern part of the state, lots more saguaro cacti in the Tucson area and further south.

I won't be moving there with a car, which is why I'm likely to settle down in Tempe until I'm situated and then move into Phoenix. I just need a smaller city, or community, to settle into first before moving into the big city.

    I heard part of the reason there are so many accidents in the Phoenix area is because of the grid layout of the roads. They are very wide and straight and people tend to drive faster than if the roads were more narrow and winding. People still need to drive more careful.

      Could be. Seems like more room would keep everyone away from each other though, lol. The way they have the arrows and regular lights can definitely be confusing. I've been here for 5 days & can tell the mechanics are busy with brake work. Everyone flies down the road just to have to brake really hard & fast when they need to stop. The way the on & off ramps are is ok, but always room for improvement. This area is really spread out & it takes forever to get anywhere.

    My opinions:
    Pros- Best desert beauty in the country, has a few of the best cities in the country, HOT Summer, has forest, fairly cheap, good mexican food, diverse weather for those that can't stand the heat, good Winter weather, snows in Northern AZ, lots to do, has major sports (but only the Cardinals are good), has a few major universities, good places to golf, Grand Canyon, good places to hike, good places to explore, cowboy and indian history scattered through the state, good fast food, has pretty decent concert venues, lots of hidden beauties like waterfalls and secret creeks or lakes)
    Cons- HOT Summer everywhere but Northern AZ (which is still hot, but slightly bearable), pretty conservative people, lots of illegals (not that it will affect you much), rattlesnakes, scorpions, centipedes, dust storms, very mediocre education in general (although there are some great, beautiful high schools in the nicer areas)
    Top 5 best places to live:
    Gilbert (Phoenix suburb) - one of the countrie's best
    Chandler (Phoenix suburb) - one of the countrie's best
    Scottsdale (Phoenix suburb)
    Anthem (Phoenix suburb)
    Flagstaff (Northern Arizona) - best in Northern AZ

      No problem! I've gotten used to the heat and I'm usually in my car or my apartment, so I'm not outside much anyway. Just be sure to get a windshield sunshade if you have a car. Otherwise you'll melt as soon as you hit the seats or touch anything, lmao. :D

      HellaCrayyVlogs Oh, no chit? I'm in Milwaukee, will be heading out March-April as well. Yeah, its hardly stopped snowing since it started on the 4th, ay?? It's giving a nice send-off to remember lol.
      My job in the 602 was 10 miles from my house, and I commuted probably 85% by mountain bike, the other times by Valley Metro. It was semi-outdoor work, being a warehouse with all overhead doors open through the summer, driving fork-truck out under the sun just to stage finished orders for shipping.
      The bike commute was always interesting. Saw an accident about every day. People never look to their right when pulling out of shopping centers, a lot of blown red lights and wrong way and drunk drivers. Gotta have your eyes all around you for sure.
      The general rule for water intake is a quart or so an hour, so if ya get thirsty, it's getting to be too late. Water bottles became like jewelry to me LOL.

    It didn't take long for us to seriously think about making a big move and live out our final years together.(32yrs in May)đŸ˜¶đŸ˜„ So hopefully ..đŸ€”we have another decade🙄lol ..so why not live our final years there? đŸ€”I live with 3 digit temps too...and being close to Savannah..I can assure you it's the humidity here that kills you!đŸ˜“đŸ˜«đŸ˜©

    We have looked at some homes in AZ and were wondering about all the concrete walls around the yards? One person told me it was for the dust storms and for keeping flash flood water out of your yard, flood water! So we have only looked at homes that are elevated. We use Google Earth to find lower drainage spots and avoid them. Are some parts of the state more prone to flash floods?

    • @LifeWitSed
      @LifeWitSed  Pƙed 6 lety

      BulletSpoung I wondered the same thing before I moved here. I read that it was just for privacy, safety and to keep fires from spreading. They started the brick walls in the older parts of Arizona, so I guess they just kept the scheme.
      As for the flooding, there's a few maps that show the areas that are more prone to floods. Here's one: www.abc15.com/monsoon

      Pretty much everyone in Cali/NV/AZ drives so yeah you would need one unless you live and work in downtown Phoenix or downtown in any other suburb city, there's are busses and Metro systems in Phoenix/Glendale/Tempe/etc. If you move to a really small but populated city like Maricopa, or Buckeye, you could say certain places are walking distances though but yeah Arizona does have the best paved roads in the united states though ;D

      Hey I grew up in Gilbert. I think its a great place for a family, its stupid hot in the summer so be prepared of that like you will be angry at the heat I promise, but lots of jobs. People are mostly to themselves, its clean and quiet. Usually there's not a lot of people out walking around (cus hot as hell) and you and your wife would both need a car to live comfortably in my opinion. I would recommend renting a home for more respect for your neighbors as well.

    What about Allergies? I live in Vancouver, WA right across the river from Portland, OR and the closer you get to Eugene, OR the stronger the allergies are. With that said do you see a lot of people with allergies problems.

      Lamonte Haynes It probably wouldn't be a good place for people with severe allergies. With it being a desert, there's a lot of dust. Dust storms, dust clouds, etc. There's also a lot of ragweed and the pollen from those fly around like crazy. The good thing is there isn't a lot of grassy residential areas. I'd definitely visit if you haven't been there already to see how well your allergies can put up with it.

      So your story (reporting) is of what you speak. Just great I'll bet you like to leap frog all the kids in your neighborhood. Sure hope they got the sex offender notice on you. Camp Verde is a Senior gambling spot, you must mix it up with a few old ladies when in your spot.

      Texas is your best bet, lots of job opportunities great living areas and growing cities. It gets hot here but not AZ hot, Its a bipolar weather state but all in all lots of stuff to explore. Prices are good on houses it's why alot of people move here, you'll be paying way less on a house then what you pay for an apartment to rent in New York.

    arizona native living in cali here........tucson is where the mountains and hiking is at.....but if your scared of heights then avoid mount lemon(14k ft. ) as the road up goes along high cliffs...........with regards to arizona sports....the pro baseball team is the diamondbacks not the cardinals.....its all good though i know you havent been living there that along....Im going to try postmates out here in l.a and see if anything comes from it...

    • @LifeWitSed
      @LifeWitSed  Pƙed 8 lety

      I definitely won't be doing any high mountain climbing, haha. And whoops, I didn't even catch that I said cardinals, lol. Postmates in LA is definitely busy, but parking and traffic can be treacherous from what I've heard...

    • @EdMcMuffin00
      @EdMcMuffin00 Pƙed 8 lety

      yes the parking and traffic are awful for sure.....im not sure if that hinders a postmate like type job?

    • @LifeWitSed
      @LifeWitSed  Pƙed 8 lety

      +Edward Sonder It definitely could since you have an hour to drop the stuff off. I mean you still get paid even if the hour is up, but that's what they advertise. But traffic or a parking spot could definitely hurt your tip. I've walked blocks just to drop of burgers. I wouldn't dare to do that now though. it's 115 today, haha. I'll be doing postmates tonight though.
