I genuinely think a story like that could be so good.
Some asshole demon goes inside of a game and makes it obnoxiously difficult. The demon then feeds off of the gamer rage from the player. It's the perfect crime. As we saw with Vinny, people will continue throwing themselves at an almost impossible challenge because "THIS time will be it! Just one more!"
Instead of things like "I AM GOD" or "All your friends are dead" the demon would flash "UR SHIT" or "gonna quit, pussy?" on the screen to wind the player up further.
The demon doesn't wanna suck you into the game or kill you. It just wants to laugh at you being bad and getting tilted.

Indie devs born after 2005 can't make finished games anymore. All they know is concept demo, kickstarter, Unity, use they Twitter, and start new projects
@@Hwarminglooking into it, it was a contest or challenge and a lot of these people who made these are doing this for another CZcamsr or streamer, and they’re all about the same quality.
Now, that quality translates well for animations, but the formula is kind of the same, and the engine they use is garbage, cause they were consistently bad control wise
Now, if they used a better engine that mimicked Mario physics and allowed a controller, they can actually be merited less as a bad game and more for the experience they’re trying to portray

If anyone’s wondering, it seems like the idea is that you’re meant to gain distance from evil Mario by jumping to let him overshoot you. Vinny was just focusing on trying to run away.
I was curious to see if it was actually hard or Binty just was sucking hard ass at the game, so I downloaded the game and played it myself. When I got to that part, I tried beating him both ways. Neither worked. You can't outrun him because he'll just catch up with you, and you can't try to outmaneuver him because his hitbox is so big and your controls are so floaty that you can't make precise movements. I spent like a half an hour trying to get past that part and just gave up. And I've played SMB1 with a keyboard before quite a bit. My main problem is that Luigi uses his Lost Levels physics (which I think suck ass) rather than his SMB1 physics (which are identical to Mario's). I can't tell if everyone saying Vinny just sucks and it's painfully obvious how to get past that part haven't actually played the game before, or if I just suck as much as Vinny.
The initial sequence focuses on juking Mario, the last part looks scripted where your only option is to run on the floor without any speed drops.
How to make spooky scary Mario Horror:
> Play as Luigi
> One of the brothers died in a car crash
> Controls that don't at all feel like the source gams
> Sound quality that would not at all fit on the NES/SNES
> Music from other games
> The characters secretly have human names oh no!
> Random near-kaizo level difficulty in one of the stages

@@pablomenendez2319I recognized the name, and though I have nothing against him, I can't lie: I was mildly surprised to see he's still active, let alone still active in the "exe genre."
Again, I have nothing against the guy, but I remember watching some of his stuff when I was younger, and he didn't seem like the type of channel to stick around. What I saw was almost exclusively reaction video/creepypasta centric--basically the definitive "typical smaller 2010s channel."

Watching that Mario 85 segment live is something I'll never forget.
When we got the Super Shroomio stream later, seeing chat filled with LUCAS when Mario showed up made my soul ascend.
Half the video is of Vinny playing funny Mario.exe games. The other half is of him going insane over playing the same level over and over again and Mario going “Hey there champ!” every time.
Mario 85 actually looked decently programmed.

@@matthewrease2376you're missing an entire 50 minutes of it, Vinny saying "this is the last attempt" or "the next time will be the last attempt and then im done", and he did choose the optimal path for on some segments, which leads you to inevitably jump on him to stun him, and even then his hitbox tends to be very scuffed, also stunning him apparently wasn't part of the game in earlier versions, so vinny had it easy with the nightmare

I have been watching vinny sense i was around 12 and im now 22, and i have never seen vinny actually lose his mind like this.

Here's an idea: Monster Mario chases Luigi to the end of a level. Then Luigi turns into a monster and chases normal Mario to the beginning of the level. And they keep alternating until they get fed up and attack the being forcing them to chase each other, the game designer. Then the designer gives up and takes over Legend of Zelda instead
Maybe I'm just an idiot, but out of curiosity I downloaded Mario 85 to see how difficult it actually was for myself, and I also found it really fucking hard. Luigi uses his floaty Lost Levels physics rather than his SMB1 physics, which tripped me up big time. When I got to the MX part, I tried running away just to see if it was actually possible to beat that part that way, and sure enough it was too hard. Everybody in these comment sections was saying that it was "easy" if you actually tried to out-maneuver MX and be more confrontational, so I tried that strategy. It also didn't work. MX is so big (and also has janky as hell hit boxes) and your physics are so sluggish and floaty that it's really hard to get out of the way. If you get MX in front of you, he'll just jump into you if you try to go over him. If you try to bait him into jumping over you, he'll just land on you before you can make it under him. It's definitely not the keyboard controls that are my problem, cause I've played SMB1 and other platformers with a keyboard before and I've been fine. I've especially played a lot of SMB1 with a keyboard, but like I said before, since this uses the Lost Levels Luigi physics and not SMB1 physics, my skills didn't totally translate. I played for about half an hour before giving up. I haven't watched anyone else play this, but from what I hear, most people were able to beat this seemingly within a couple of tries. Maybe this is a game I just suck ass at and everyone else just has no problem with, but I feel like people should actually play the game and try to beat it before calling it effortlessly easy. It certainly wasn't for me. If anything, I can say the developers did a really good job at recreating the physics from Lost Levels, even though I absolutely hate Luigi's controls in that game, they were pretty on point for what the real ones feel like. You can even do the frame-perfect wall jump, so the game definitely gets points for accuracy.

It's fun to see people put in more effort unlike your average .exes
However, if there's one game that comes to mind first when we mention horror themed Mario games. it's Mario: The Music Box. The concept has decent creativity and a lot of efforts was put into this game.
