The Most Beautiful Indian Village? (Khonoma Eco Village)
Vložit

- I found the most beautiful village in India called Khonoma Eco Village - India's first green village. See for yourself how stunning, clean, and serene this Indian village is. It's a paradise surrounded by lush green mountains, rolling clouds, and cute terraced farms.
We try the village food available at a small stall at the village entrance. Nothing fancy, just chai, Maggi, Wai Wai, and Galho - a Nagamese traditional meal of rice porridge with vegetables and meat.
Then we go for a tour of the majestic village in the North East Indian hills.
Sustainability and green living is encouraged in this Indian village which is touted as the first green village of India.
Its also a very clean village adhering to the Swachh Bharat (Clean India) campaign.

Brothers stop with the fighting already. There are good and bad in all communities. Being racist to one or two won't solve the problem. I think we all are better than this.
@HD HDB try to know the matter fully first and then comment because little knowledge is too dangerous. When the North Eastern people say that they hate bengalis they don't mean bengalis from west bengal but bengali muslims from Bangladesh. Hope i could clear the point. No negative feelings towards you, may God bless you my son.
North East India is the most underrated part of India....
It is such a beautiful place with such wondeful people! ❤️ 🇮🇳
I really hope the people of Northern India become more educated and mature and stop mocking and discriminating against North East Indians

Naga hospitality is one of the best hospitality I've received and experienced in my life. You will remember for life. I Just wish all these divisive politics never existed between communities, cultures and the diverse ethnicities of the NE. Sorry for making a political statement between my appreciation for this place. Incredible place. Love from Manipur. ❤❤❤✌🏼
every village in NE is clean,in other villages you'll find bamboo made dustbins placed everywhere ,in fact in some villages there are more dustbins than the villagers .it's the cities and towns that are filthy . villagers are very hardworking and dedicated people ,whereas in cities and towns ,people are educated yet uncivilised
I m from Assam. And in my parent's village... i have never seen any dustbins because people never make the place dirty at the first place itself. People periodically clean the neig.hood, the roads. I even like to walk barefoot, its so clean and natural...😍
I'll visit your village sometime.
You said true...
More over we live life in organic...
Jennaro Ao yes of course Assam place very dirty
This is the slap on me and my countrymen mentality. Their cleanliness concept is far better ( Sorry my bros from North, South and West). I can see people of Nagaland ( & North East) value what is important in life and remains wealthy and not running to earn currency. Hoping all the best so that you can preserve this for long long time so that you can actually cherish true happiness.
Ya I feel the same.
I'm from north and absolutely agree with you.
North Indians and South Indians should learn cleanliness from North East India!!
Love from Assam bro.

One tiny village against the mighty British Empire, thats Khonoma... I was just reading Mackenzie. Oh, boy they resisted

Chennai has huge chunk of North East Indians from all the seven states who are living here for their education. I have interacted with few of them who study in my college. They are all so nice and are all environment conscious. They don't even throw paper after eating samosa on the road. They carefully look for dustbin and then thrash it. While this may be observed in other parts of India too, I noticed it from all the North East Indians with whom I have interacted.
It's very good u are traveling all around India ...good luck

Any Tamils ,south Indian.

Thank you Karl for visiting Khonoma and showing this unknown part of India to the world.
Btw a historical fact about this village.
Khonoma was a sovereign village like any other villages in Naga hills.
They were never under the rule of any Indian kingdom. The village came into contact with India only when British merged it with British India colony in the early 20th century.
This region got independence from British one day before India's independence.
Then in the late 50s, this region was invaded by Indian forces under the leadership of Nehru.
The entire village of Khonoma was destroyed and burnt down to ashes in the late 50s by Indian troops(which they won't tell to Indian tourists because it's uncomfortable).
You can see it being written in one of the monoliths erected in the memory of those who lost their lives in this attack by Indian troops.
Things have changed now and it's very difficult for the native people to even think about the dark years of 50s and 60s when they were invaded by Indian troops.
Just sharing a fact, nothing against my dear Indian brothers.
Peace!!
Jai Hind!
Love you bro
United we are powerful we will
Love from UTTRAKHAND
Jai hind JAI NAGALAND
Sad if true .. this village should be our role model for cleanliness
So, you are saying from 1947 to late 50's this village was a country on its own? How can that work on a long term basis?

Festivals of the NE according to I knw
Nagaland : Hornbill Festival Dec 1 - 10 Every Year.
Manipur : Sangai Festival Nov 21-30 Nov.
Places to visit : (Manipur )
1. Dzuko Valley (border Nagaland and Manipur)
2. Loktak Lake - World's only floating clean lake)
3. Khoupum Cave /Water Fall
4. Zeilad
5. Shirui Peaks (There is also Shirui Festival )
6. There are lots of untouched places. Due to time constraints most of the tourists visited only valley (Imphal) . More exotic and beautiful places lies in the hills which is 40-50 kms away from the capital. The road conditions also not good. If you have guts and passion you can enjoy the scenic beauty.
