- It's the the final week of work sessions as I wrap up the On18 Bandit Canyon Railway! An ancient native American cliff dwelling finds its way into a rocky alcove as the cliffside scenery is finished around the entire layout. Then it's time to wrap up the barn wood fascia, build in some hidden access hatches, and put the final touches on the layout with a last round of detailing. The Bandit Canyon Railway is done! Thanks for coming along for the ride.
Thanks for watching, amigos!

Dear Dave, said it before; the Bandit Canyon is truly an extra asset to the entire Thunder Mesa layout in your studio. Even though the base color is differing from the one layout to the other, the way they blend together makes it a great example of how the vistas you told a while ago can be expanded truly come to life. Curious for the look of the traveling layout on your California meet. Cheerio
Love the jackalope!
Fantastic job Dave, I REALLY enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning watching you build this. Congrats!
Although all your work is captivating, this is my favorite! MAGNIFICO Sir!
I love watching all of these updates. So many new and beautiful details 😊😊😊
AWESOME WORK
Congratulations, Dave and thank you! Well done!
Great job. Enjoy your California trip!
Congratulations! The BCR looks fantastic, I love every inch. Have fun at the Fiesta.
Nice job Dave
Tha extra details make the scenes realistic.
Can't wait for further episodes.
Great job Dave, you never cease to amaze and entertain. Thankyou
As always, magnificent work! In my old days as an art dealer, what a moment to view the finished “masterpiece”. Bravo👏
Another masterpiece, Dave. Thanks for sharing.
That’s awesome! Dave makes it look so easy. My hat is off to you sir.
Finishing touches are perfect! They really go with the overall theme. Love it 👍🏽
Thank you Dave! I have been following your channel for some time now and I am continually amazed at your expertise. The Bandit Canyon is a summation of your ‘minds eye’ and your modeling skills. In a word, the Bandit Canyon Railway is “Outstanding!”. I am looking forward to your next project! David E. , former On30, now, N Scale TTRAK modeler.
Thank you sir!
Outstanding looking! Love the jackalope.
Comme toujours extraordinaire, je suis à chaque fois émerveillé par votre créativité et votre maîtrise des décors. Votre expérience est fantastique.
Merci pour le partage 😃
Way to go, Dave, as per usual very inspiring.
It was nice to see it at the Festa Fiesta on the live cast. Some real cool little railways, thanks.
As amazing, beautiful and Magical as this is, would be interesting to see how you get it out of the studio, down the stairs and in the vehicle. Looking forward to seeing in person and meeting you Saturday.
It looks much bigger and heavier than it is. Remember, it's only 2x3' and made almost entirely of foam.
Thanks Dave!!! Always an inspiration!! She turned out great!!! 🚂
A feast for the eyes! Amazing work.
An amazing layout! Thanks for the fun trip through the whole build.
Looks Great Dave, as your projects always do. Have fun in California.
I love the Bandit Canyon, but now you have given me ideas... now to see if I can follow through...😂
You did a fantastic job. Everything turned out perfect 👍👍✨✨
very cool.. incredible...
Truly inspiring work Dave!!!
Your ability to capture the spirit of the Southwest, Monument Valley, Grand Canyon, Magellan Rim and other places, with a little spirit of the whimsy, add trains and make it look as though they belong is astounding. I really enjoyed this build, as I did Gruesome Gulch. I am really looking forward to watching your Thunder Mesa remake. Keep it up, you are a true inspiration to all of us who watch your You Tube channel.
Live the Bandit Canyon, though, you have given me ideas... now to see where those lead...
I wish I could get down there this weekend to see it in person. Calvin will have to proxy for me.
What a fantastic build series Dave. Loved every minute of it.
Thank you so much
Great lay out Dave. Been watching it from the start, and it is awesome to see it finished. Glad to see the recycled Ruins added into the layout.
Fantastic build in record time Dave!
Awesome Job, Dave. And perfect Music to compliment. Thankyou for sharing!
Absolutely amazing. Your talent and creativity is an inspiration. Have a great time in California!
Fantastic the layout looks amazing

my wife and i really enjoyed this project
What can I say? Fantastic, way to go. The little Lady and I really love it!!!
Totally awesome!
Amazing work as always man! Don't burn yourself out though. Take a break if you need.
Fabulous!
Just Awesome Dave 😎😎😎😎😎
Cool. Turned out great!
Looks awesome, great job!
NICE!!!!
Beautiful work as always. It looks like a place I'd live to visit. Maybe it could make an appearance at a Narrow Gauge Convention! Perchance to dream!
I’m old enough to have used an outhouse as a child at my grandmother’s rural farm house. The whole is deep, in part, to reduce the smell and flies in the summer. So, pooping on top of a ruin? I’m glad your layout is set before agencies would question the placement of the outhouse!
There's a metaphor about westward expansion in there somewhere
Another Fantastic Job- you an excellent crafter!
I especially like the figures and critters you included. Does the Jackalope have a name?
I need to come up with one!
Well done Dave. Your imagination and the ability to transfer what it sees to the layout boggles my mind. Love your videos.
I know; “Permits!? We don’t need no stinking permits!”
Great finish to a superb project! I'd like to see how you "packed" it for travel to CA.
Brilliant adaptation!!! I love your eye for repurposing! Simply beyond perfect!!! The total project is AWESOME!!!
I can honestly say you did better than I could have done.
I can see that as a replacement for Disneyland NWRR,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,thx
Dave, I don't get why these small layouts seem to be so popular! There doesn't seem to be much opportunity for Operations. My old HO layout was pretty much a roundy-roundy, but did have some operational capability and ended up being torn down because I felt that a layout should be dedicated to operations. Is their popularity due to scenic building and quickness of build? The fact that I don't understand, means little to those who find them so fascination, who am I to judge? However, be assured that I love watching you build them!!!!
It's about the storytelling and the artistry. What's not to get? Model railroading as a story telling medium. Operations is a fun role playing game, but it's not for everyone and it's not the only way to enjoy the hobby. Some people just like to make models that tell a fun story. To each their own.
You need a little "Fox"!!
What size couplers do you use for On18?
I use N scale couplers. Others have used HOn3 couplers with good results.
How many total hours on this project?
