Irish Setter:
Red Irish setters are some of the best family dogs around.
Famously well-tempered, Irish setters make great, loyal companions for adults while being gentle and energetic enough to be excellent playmates for children, too.
You may have heard that blondes have more fun, but Irish setters are here to shatter stereotypes.
Rambunctious, intelligent, and loyal, these dashing redheads have a well-earned reputation for being marvelous family dogs.
What the Irish setter is not, however, is a dog well-suited to apartment living.
Standing nearly 2 feet at the shoulder and blessed with a hunter's energy and stamina, the Irish setter needs plenty of space to roam.
He'll benefit from frequent walks coupled with lots of supervised off-leash time.
He's always up for a long run, refreshing swim, or lively game of fetch.

Very informative and nicely produced, video on Irish Setters. Very accurate in the common characteristics, of the breed. đ¶đ
Absolutely amazing creatures, pure pets, best dogs ever imo
Cons? Cons?! There are no cons when it comes to Irish Setters.
Do they shed?
We have rescued Irish Setters and now have our 7th and 8th IS. Both are over 80 pounds and very tall although they think they are lap dogs. They are absolutely great dogs with lovable personalities. Our male is 8 years old and still acts like a pup. They both live going for rides after their free runs outside.
My almost 8 year old Irish Setter is probably the laziest dog around whenever there's no visitors. He'd absolutely love to spend the entire day lazing about on the couch or by the wood stove and only getting up to do his business or eat, to the point where I practically have to drag him outside for his daily exercise.
I had an Irish Setter that came to visit me. His owner lived about 4 roads away and when he escaped he was always found sitting at my door. Got to the stage that the owner gave me his number and I'd ring and tell him that I had RED at my house lol
irresponsible owner letting the dog stray
@@Lauren-vd4qe Karen.
@@EranRicos and what wd you say when the owner failed to contain his dog and the dog got hit by a car and died in terrible agony on the road? or the car driver swerved to avoid the dog on the road and crashed, killing another driver or pedestrian?

I grew up in a neighborhood with Ir Set's, Afghan Hounds, Goldens and Beagles. I thought the setters were the more stately dogs but as I got older I saw things the Goldens were doing as a kind of next level intelligence. Now I never see a Setter. Everything is these Pit Bulls.
Hat! To him ! Wimble Donk!! đđŸ
My 11 IS year old is still hyper. We still have to go on closes to a 2 mile walk or doggy park at least 2 -3 times a week.
I like Irish Setters, theyâre like spaniels but bigger. I appreciate the info about them cause who knows I might get one in the future, but not sure. And I agree that big dogs like them need lots of excerise cause without it theyâll more susceptible to getting health issues.
They are very much like English Show Springer spaniels and Pointers too
@@cockerspanielworld very true, and I believe Iâve seen a springer spaniel before. Most of time Iâve seen one of my neighbors walk one. So from what I saw they had brown and white fur, brown on the back of its coat and white on the front. But what most people call it is Liver and white.

Mine had Amber eyes â€ïž
They are great family Dogs, but very hard to find these days!

It's a nuisance that stickies show up at the end of the video, blocking things you want to see or read.
Mostly correct but the video only discusses bench Irish Setters. They donât even mention the field variety. Big differences especially in grooming and hunting ability. Also the breed not only mentally matures slowly but physically too. Most females donât go into heat until over 18 months.
This is wrong. There are 2 types. Hanging dos are not as big as the stupid show dogsâŠâŠâŠplease fix this.
Excuse me. (**) The word is "bred" as gun dogs. Not "bread". You might want to fix that.
Bread is something you eat, and it's also a slang expression for money.
"Bred" means created from selective breeding. Breeding is the selective, human-directed mating of two animals to produce young, either dogs, cats, horses, cattle, sheep etc.
Otherwise it's really very good material, well expressed. Especially about the maturity rate.
gluten free diet, pffttt lol
Adopt, donât shop
Not a thing wrong with buying a responsibly bred health tested dog
