I like the fact that you do reviews of stuff that is not expensive but a reasonably good product for the price and for certain applications. Most people are on a budget and can’t afford expensive stuff. You make excellent videos for that reason. Kudos !
Electrek truly does the best reviews. Polished, concise, straight to the point. Most other reviewers have like 30 minute reviews with a bunch of unpolished mumbo jumbo.
rev rides does the best reeves and so does alien rides. I never heard of this guy, I just watched this and he's okay he got some info wrong but ya whatever.
Just got mine in the mail today, took it for a spin in my parking lot and I gotta say its really fun and the handling is great!
Great and to the point with your review. I would definitely get something like this just to cruise around. The price range is just right.
great review, underrated channel!
I just ordered one. I live in NYC where everything you need is in a 1 mile radius.
I use it mainly for quick errands
Groceries, dry cleaning, post office etc..
It will be phenomenal.
i order one two but how long is it gonna take to get shipped
Great, thanks! Mine will be delivered on Tuesday. I am going to attach some nice reflective tape to help visibility.
FYI, there is a tail light that lights up when you press on the break
Or when you hit the button
Now this is a great video! Why aren’t they all like this? The one guy reviewing the Tesla’s isn’t cutting it and really brings the channel down.
The Gotrax Elite has 2 lights. Front and rear. They are only on when the front one is turned on.
I ordered one. So hyped
Had it for 2 months now & no complaints👌🏽
Probably cuz it’s your only e-scooter. I’m not a big fan of the GoTrax XR Elite because it doesn’t have a cruise control option which I hate because when I wasn’t to stop, I take my thumb off of the button but it keeps going so I have to use the front break which is very awkward
@@lifetimeorigami8307 it does have cruise control lol
@@augustmoreno869 I said it doesn't have a cruise control option
@@lifetimeorigami8307 to stop cruise control, tap the brakes or tap the cruise control lever. You don't need to hold cruise control, only when your starting it.
THANK YOU FOR THIS REVIEW I WANT TO BUY IT AND NEED FULL DETAIL BEFORE MAKING MY FINAL DECISION
as a owner of this scooter with a rough uphill commute, I concur with your assessment. Looking into more suitable options.
No option that doesn’t involve spending at least $1500
Can you recommend a next level scooter that might have some shock absorption and a slightly better metrics? I'm checking out the TOMOLOO L1 Plus as it seems to be in that next better catergory...thanks so much..
Great review - and at least you mention hills! ... but I'm struggling with UNfolding my Go Trax XR Elite and no videos show or talk about that!
You kind of have to pull the pin to release it AND the handle at the same time
You don‘t have to pull the red pin at the same time as pulling the lever to fold up this scooter. Just pull the red pin and spin it about a quarter turn and it will rest in an open position. Then pull the red lever while holding the front tube and fold it, easy. To unfold is super easy: just pull up the front tube until it clicks
Thanks ! Good sccoter speed and Good for $399.00
My XR Ultra is broken already - front wheel/rotor has a loud vibration like there's a rock inside. Only 1 month with 67 miles in it.
I just filed a warranty claim today. I don't abuse it and just rides on smooth pavements. Any similar experience? Sigh 😕
That model does have a light in the back that flashes while breaking
This is a solid scooter that can take some abuse and a splash of water here and there. And it's a great value (specially for those who bought it on sale under $300). But one has to think of it as a disposable unit. The battery health keeps going down. The back fender breaks every 2-3 months and Gotrax doesn't carry replacement fenders anymore that means you'll get mud thrown up at you while riding the scooter. It's a very well known fact but Gotrax customer support is non-existent so if you need any parts or repairs or even guidance, you'll be on your own. Last issue for me was that the unit stopped working all of a sudden. It's not difficult to take the battery out but no luck putting the replacement back in as the connector inside the deck has a very short cable and once the battery is in it blocks all access for the connectors to be connected again. I would spend more money next time but for something with better support, better maintainability, better battery, and with spare parts available.
What would be the best scooter for under 500 in general. Like if you had 500 bucks cash that’s it what would you get?
How easy is it to change tires?
What’s the range? Realistically, not on paper
I own this scooter but I changed the. Wheels to honeycomb and it works just fine then air ones because my kept getting popped
Do u get the three battery charge
The handle is a little too short for me the tires are not 10 inches are they
Any "Stem-Wobble" ??? How Heavy is it?
I'm 6ft tall, it is ok for me to ride the scooter?
Hey my scooter has a feature where at some point it automatically accelerates is there a reason this happens I want to be able to control it
How fast does the scooter go I'm looking for a 20 mi electric scooter
I got one a blue one and it doesn’t charge from the side, it might be my charger but I tried multiple
Do one wit the levy
Can u review the super turbo 1000 elite
I got a sweet Bird Air electric scooter for Christmas and my brother got this Gotrax XR Elite and he seems to love the gotrax! It’s got a nice bright light at the front which seems great and all but I’m not a big fan of it not having an emergency break at the back. You also can’t filter through speeds which kinda sucks but it seems fun to ride at parks and makes the outside bright at night! 😎
I’d rate it 3/5
Do you know any electric scooters that can go over 50 kmh for the best lowest price ?
SoFlow SO3 Electric Scooter
Would this be a good scooter for an 8 year old
Got the gotrax apex only lasted 6 miles really disappointed hade for 3 days
It’s a decent scooter 🛴, the red leaves under the speedometer is that a peg for bags 💼???
No it’s a latch for folding
I weigh 220. Would this work for me? Im only doing 2 miles with 1 hill.
The weight limit is 220 lbs... So I'd say lose at least 5 pounds and it should be fine lol
is it easy to ride with feet once electric is out? My commute is 20 mile back and forth. Would probably have to kick the floor myself for the last 5 miles lol
Just get the bike you get 25 miles with no paddle if you paddle with electric on you get up to 50 miles
This scooter has active lights in the back as well….a standard tail light which starts flashing when breaking.
Also: due to the folding mechanism this scooter has ZERO handlebar /tube wobble which is even better than all of the +$800 scooters.
How do we check if its charging
I want it from Bangladesh. But due to lockdown.shipping is not si easy.😪😥
Hi, I just ordered my new gotrax a week ago and they haven't even sent the package, how long did it take to get to you?
Did you get it? And how is it
Same here bro they haven’t sent me my package
Nice , i kinda like it
I have this scooter and I can get 20 miles and I can go really fast but nice review
Dont sell in Australia
Is this available in the UK? Sick of seeing Xiaomis everywhere
Look on Gotrax website and Amazon. Both are official sellers, as far as I know. The Gotrax website has cheaper pricing.
I gotta stop watching these electric scooter videos my old ass want one bad they look so cool and fun to ride btw nice video 😃
Everytime I see this guy setting on a bike or scooter talking, I think of someone getting their senior photo taken
this one is a nice one.
Wow this looks like and is built almost the same as the old second gen Bird scooters.
Shhhhit hardware! I tried changing out my tires and there isn’t an Allen wrench that fits it and they strip wayyyyyy too easily
You almost certainly used an English set of allen wrenches. You need metric for scooters.
Will it survive rain? Wanna buy it for Houston.
Mist or light rain is what it says on their site. Some have rode it in a bit more rain without issues, but water is not covered under the warranty. Most budget scooters are just water resistant.
@@thumbtak123 Thanks a lot! So it seems a big no no for me 😂
I bought this scooter it’s great !
Do you have to pay to turn it on
It's a flatlander. I have to take it easy on the acceleration when going on a certain 10 miles round trip. It has slight hills and a steep enough overpass. I averaged 8.8 mph and still had something left.
It was 32 F. so yes range decreases but I - 165 lbs me - wonder how I could get 15 mph for 15 miles or even 10 miles in the warm temps.
It doesn't even reach 15 mph according to GPS readings. It gets up to 14.6 mph.
Still it's good if you don't go too far. It's fun. ;)
This scooter stopped working a couple weeks after the warranty expired (which is only 90 days). I used it maybe a dozen times total in the 4 months I had it (light use around neighborhood sidewalks), I noticed the battery range continually got a little less and less over time, but never having a scooter before I didn't think too much of it. One day, the battery just stopped working for anything more than 1 minute. I recharged it several times, even tried a new charger, the scooter never worked again beyond a few seconds, and then dying. I now have a $400 paper weight. Customer support (if you can call it that) does not seem to care at all, and would not replace the battery (which they assumed was the issue) because I was out of warranty. They insisted I purchase a brand new battery for my basically new scooter. It's also worth noting they would typically take days to respond to my emails (sometimes never responding), and I would often have to start over with support hoping to get a different person who would actually respond. Even if I did purchase another battery, it would probably be defective again in 4 more months, just enough time for their "warranty" to be invalid. I would NOT recommend this product/company for your scooter purchase, there are so many better options out there now that I've had to look elsewhere.
for some reason they sell for $500 (tax not even included) on Amazon. that's an awful price for it. I found one for $360 and imo that's just about right.
Bro its 529 on the gotrax website right now!
Is there different speed modes ?
You can’t filter through speed modes which sucks because I’d love to ride this baby on the roads. However it’s got a nice bright light but I absolutely hate how it doesn’t have an emergency break at the back! But still for a 300$ scooter it’s not too shabby. Still wouldn’t recommend it for a beginner but it’s fun to ride at parks and stuff.
@@rsull1995 ok thx it only has electronic breaks?
@@captainalexplayz3623 yeah it only has an electric break
@@rsull1995 what would be the best scooter for like 400 bucks
@@mexicanwelder5967 probably the Bird Air. Very nice quality, up to 16-20 mph, filter through 3 speed modes, stomp break, the electrical break charges battery when using it, very lightweight, and has a very comfortable handlebar. I think that is just overall a solid budget conscious scooter!
I Bought 2 Hiboys s2 and they’re junk. They’re already falling apart 1 month in. Just spend the extra money for a better electric scooter
Gotrax has a problem. After the 12 months warranty, they lack of parts to replace for customers. They take a week to respond yoto your problems and they say that they don't have the part and they cannot recommend anywhere, and you are out of luck. You can see their parts sections and they don't have any parts to replace. They don't have anymore and they won't fill it. You broke something? Good luck. Now I have a broken scooter missing the lower part that holds the brake line and is made of plastic which breaks and they don't have it. I never seen a company with such low expectations and lack of responsibility for their customers.
These are good scooters but they aren’t actual ip36 waterproofed witch is rated to handles pressure washer being sprayed at it and I got caught in the rain on my way home for about ten minutes and my battery actually. Got wet and got fire so not ride in any water no matter the amount I would not trust these if it starts raining you better start walking.
No regenerative brakes?
No breaks whatsoever!
No regenerative brakes, but you do get motor braking. It basically just shorts the motor instead of sending the electricity back into the battery.
@@Electrek I was unaware that was a braking option. Thanks Micah
That's actually how RC cars brake...Of course these days, even RC cars have regenerative braking I hear...My RC days were during the Nicad battery era with brushed motors and radio frequency controllers vs today's lipo/brushless/Bluetooth... 😅
Damn someone has his for $250 on Craigslist....I dunno if I should or not
Did you?
@@TedEhioghae Nah hell no, I decided to buy me a HiBoy S2 Pro instead. I don't have to worry about getting flats with the S2 Pro.
Buy the gotrax gxl v2 at gotrax.com
Now just have to figure how to ride it, with 10 bags of groceries. You making that vid soon? lol 🥰
get one of those backpacks where the bottom extends out. life saver for me when i’m carrying groceries home. it’s like having 2 backpacks in one
I thought I saw a rear light……
This scooter could be a good alternative to m365
Don't buy xr Elite. It does 8 miles range for me in the first week. Horrible range. I deeply regret and should have got a Segway instead
Hmmmm seems like Segway is the better way to go I see too many bad reviews for this scooter 🤔
They do not have a LARGE rear red light and brake lights??? WHY??? That is the easiest thing to implement with today's LED technology.
There is a rear light. The red part, that looks like a reflector over the rear is a light that turns on when the front light is on. It is not a break light, though. Should be in my option.
@@thumbtak123 we have Bolt scooters now in the city they have super bright headlights right on street level aimed up into oncoming traffic they are blinding. That is a bad setup as well.
These are $250 right now!
Yup Slickdeals posted it last night lol… grabbed one negative reviews means crap if you get it for that cheap lol
Do not buy gotrax. If you have any problem, they take no responsibility for their failures. Mine was brand new and had an error code. They would not ship parts, but wanted the entire scooter returned and implied if they could fix it it would be at a minimal charge. They would not send packaging and said any damage in shipping was my responsibility. Terrible customer service.
Can you remove that atrocious Gotrax sticker off the stem?
Probably not.
Their products aren't that great
wrap it
It is not a sticker.
@Darian Klein haha
Funny you say that, because i actually _OWNED_ a Gotrax scooter that was very similar to this one... And that scooter was _DOA_ .... So when i contacted the manufacturer, they sent me a replacement battery that i got from them after waiting a couple weeks or so.
That battery was _also DOA_ ... So, yeah I'm actually speaking from experience. And i know that battery _wasn't_ cheap for them.
@@BroAnarchy Hello, what is DOA?
the scooter world is prob already screwed up. the batteries just dont last long enough
and we are psssing 1000 dollars for good scooters.

@Darian Klein opposed to a ebike? Scooters are not allowed on roads or pathways.

You Forgot to mention they have the worst customer support! And lots of times products don’t work out of box.
I can vouch for that. Literally.
Bought a GOTRAX GXL that didn't work out of the box, and they sent me a replacement battery ... That also did not work
@@BroAnarchy bro be fucking happy u got a second battery for free!
I have had no issues with the customer service and have contacted them a few times. They always email me back in a timely manner. Granted, I normally don't have issues with customer services, with companies that a lot of people do. I do not know why.

Sure buddy.
Its not like i charged up the battery, and did all the steps that was recommended to me, or wrote a review of the experience on Amazon...

BUYER BEWARE! Golabs (gotrax is same company) does not honor their warranty. They do not have a phone number, they do not answer service links from their website. They do not answer claims filled out on their website. They removed all negative comments from the golabs website on 3/22. If you don't believe me try to get in touch with golabs, Try to find a email address or phone number on their website. On March 27 Gotrax supplied a service email for Golabs only after i showed proof of purchase. Please share this post as consumers need to be aware of issues with these 2 companies. Check Out their BBB rating for both company's Carrollton TX.
This company has terrible customer service. Their phone line is a third party company, their "chat" is always offline, and they never return their emails. So if you research , there's dozens of people very unhappy with their purchases because it was defective.
Their warranty is non-existent, so buy at your own risk.
Gotrax has an F rating on the Texas Better Business Bureau. Look at the complaints. They don't do any of their own service or repairs. Fully Chinese made and built scooters. Terrible company. Treated myself and most people extremely poorly. Should stop promoting them.
