I first met Arien two years ago while walking around Hollywood giving out socks to homeless people. She shared candidly about the abuse homeless women experience living out on the streets. You can watch that first video here: • Arien is a homeless wo...
The first two times I connected with Arien happened organically. You can watch her second Invisible People here: • UPDATE on Arien: She i... Arien mentioned attempts to kill herself that prompted the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA) outreach team to go visit her. They helped her with clothes and hygiene products and placed Arien on a housing list, but there are tens of thousands of homeless people in Los Angeles and not nearly enough housing to get people off the streets.
Invisible People facilitates an online support group for homeless people. Arien and I became friends on Facebook. My last visit in February was rearranged. Arien wanted to update her story. In this video, she talks about being raped on her 3rd day of homelessness:
• Homeless Woman's 3rd I...
I never wanted to hit the milestone of a 3rd video with the same homeless person so a 4th interview with a young homeless woman is not something to celebrate. It's disturbing that in a few years time Los Angeles could not get Arien out of homelessness.
This time of year communities is release their PIT (point in time) homeless count numbers. Many cities like Los Angeles will add some spin to the information to hopefully give an impression to the general public that some success in fighting homelessness is happening. Truth is, no matter what the PIT number is it's just a number. Only one homeless person sleeping outside is a tragedy.
Here is Arien's GoFundMe if you'd like to help support her: www.gofundme.com/HumblyHomele...

About Invisible People:
Since its launch in November 2008, Invisible People has leveraged the power of video and the massive reach of social media to share the compelling, gritty, and unfiltered stories of homeless people from Los Angeles to Washington, D.C. The vlog (video blog) gets up close and personal with veterans, mothers, children, layoff victims and others who have been forced onto the streets by a variety of circumstances. Each week, they’re on InvisiblePeople.tv, and high traffic sites such as CZcams, Twitter and Facebook, proving to a global audience that while they may often be ignored, they are far from invisible.
Invisible People goes beyond the rhetoric, statistics, political debates, and limitations of social services to examine poverty in America via a medium that audiences of all ages can understand, and can’t ignore. The vlog puts into context one of our nation’s most troubling and prevalent issues through personal stories captured by the lens of Mark Horvath - its founder - and brings into focus the pain, hardship and hopelessness that millions face each day. One story at a time, videos posted on InvisiblePeople.tv shatter the stereotypes of America’s homeless, force shifts in perception and deliver a call to action that is being answered by national brands, nonprofit organizations and everyday citizens now committed to opening their eyes and their hearts to those too often forgotten.
Invisible People is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to changing the way we think about people experiencing homelessness.
Update: Arien Is No Longer Homeless in Los Angeles czcams.com/video/NW8Tu-ZXgqM/video.html
Thank God. She really deserves it. Beautiful personality, soul and spirit.
What’s going on with her kids ? Why did she lose them I haven’t worked it out on her vids
Great
Filled with Joy on this Good News.
She's incredibly beautiful 🌷
I really admire someone who can hang on to their moral standards when they have nothing at all. She is awesome.
What people are saying is: How dare you try to look nice and be homeless
She said she was stealing though..... Morals?
@@johnphilpot5205 6:34 nope she said “when I FIRST got homeless... but NOW” but now are the key words. So yes, morals.
She sounds so sweet and intelligent, I wish her well, I’m proud of her for keeping her dignity
SSI told her she was "not depressed enough"...
This makes me shake my head...
depression is depression.
I have tried to get help for depression many times from my doctor but he doesn't care in the slightest. I have tried many antidepressants and they don't work for me. Either I get worse side effects like 'brain zaps' and headaches or no effect whatsoever. When I complained they made me feel worse he tried to lie to me that I must continue even though I had tried them for nearly 6 months. I think he wanted me to continue so he gets more money for the script rather than me getting better then he lied and said I should try MIND which is basically talking with poorly trained health professionals who do not have any real training for mental health so they understand what they are doing. I later found out on my own that there is ketamine I could of tried at a clinic in London which costs money but I would of tried this even though it would be too expensive for me. It would be actually worth going into debt for because the treatment can actually help rewire the damaged part of my brain and then lighter doses continued there afterwards. I am so angry this was kept from me for so long when I have been feeling suicidal for so many yrs and also I have felt hopeless for very long periods also.
@@MICKEYISLOWD pray to god. Don't do any medications or things unless instructed by professionals. Work out your depressive thoughts, feel better about your self I'm sure you will very soon.
@@MICKEYISLOWD believe in yourself and in God
I wonder what "DEPRESSED ENOUGH' look like I suppose suicide would show em "deppressed enough" SMH!
I think her ability to look nice, clean and apply make-up, while in her situation, works against her. If she doesn't tell you that she's homeless and depressed, nobody would know. Also, depression is a psychological diagnosis, that has to be assessed by a licensed professional. Some people just feel tired, lazy or drank to much (not saying this about her, this is what the SSI ppl could be thinking), and start saying they are "depressed". I see why they say, she's not depressed enough, though. When she talks about people should provide jobs, to help people, if you don't want them in your backyard. If she feels like she can work a job, or wants to work a job...I don't think social security will acknowledge her "illness". Hence, the "not depressed enough" answer.
Arien is beautiful and smart. May the god save her. The struggle is real. Everybody is vulnerable and can be in her position one day.
Assassin's, it's on the way quick, fast, and a hurry👍.
@Susan Ananda STFU.
And she's also no longer homeless as of the video update from a year ago🤗
@Susan Ananda I don't think so.
Besides housing she will also need good supportive friends.
True and I’m so grateful for the one best friend I have who has helped me out in a time of need - actually recently .... due to mental illness .... one of my own fears is to one day have no one and nothing so if my mental illness declines - I could (I’ve almost few times) ended up on the streets - but as u said supportive friends and/or just anyone helps SO much and prevents these tragedies
Erin O I just saw your video with Refinery hope your okay
And, religion.

Her makeup gives her instant gratification to soften the hard edges, so what!! What she is not doing is...putting a needle in her arm, a pipe in her mouth, disrespecting and degrading herself by stripping nor selling her body and dignity for money! Beautiful Laina. Just Beautiful.
Laina Lopez She’s no longer homeless. She has an apartment now. I’m so happy for her.
@@darklovely9583 YEAHHH! So am I. Arien is intelligent and pleasant. I love hearing her speak and she is always well-groomed.
That’s why l moved out of LA 3 months ago. It’s not even affordable for Middle class people let alone for homeless. People still keep moving there and end up homeless. It’s A lot of tent cities out there and no help.
Yea people live there with no marketable skills or fallbacks...
Why don't they work on moving to an affordable area? They are competing with high skill professionals for living space, it is stupid
Like yea I am empathetic for them... but I bet a lot of them have the opportunity to get into a good situation but they don't take action and then blame the government
The rent vs. cost of living problem seems to be happening across the entire US.
True
There are definitely areas of the US that are cheaper, but those areas are either very rural requiring a car to live there, or they are high crime areas
ExpertOfSound
Not true. I’m prime example. I’m building a house from the ground up not far from the beach. That would cost me millions in California. It’s not rural or a High crime Area. I can walk to restaurant, grocery stores etc. There is no state taxes here. You always do your homework when planning on moving to a new state.😎
Yvonce' yes why would anybody wants to live in LA
Been homeless a few times myself.
A lot of people that live paycheck to paycheck working low wage jobs have that risk. 1 Missed check means homelessness if you dont have friends or family to help and a lot of people take that for granted.
In-fact 2 of my friends I've known since middle school both were near homeless half a dozen times and every time their parents helped out and essentially saved them. My wifes ex husband is the same deal, he lost his job and didnt get another job for 7 months and his mom let him move in.
That is everywhere and people seem to expect it, like everyone just has family to bear their burdens but the people that dont end up homeless like this and somehow they are worse than those other people? get real.
The thing I hate most about people is how ignorant everyone seems to be when realizing the truth just takes a tiny bit of honesty on your part, but society's response is "Why be honest when you have an opportunity to put someone down?".
syrindark factsss
Thank God for family, nice post.
I have a friend who want to believe that there’s ‘no excuse’ to be homeless, you should be saving and investing, etc. we always argue because there are a multitude of circumstances that can eat up your money and but you in a bad situation. Even worse if you have a low paying job. I was out of work for over a year. Without family I would have been on the street. I was living on my savings but savings can’t get replenished.
Dedra Perkins very true ! I was just in a car accident...couldn’t get to work bc my car was totaled...now I’m living off my savings and living with family! I’m very fortunate to have my family. My heart breaks for the homelessness epidemic! I wish I could figure out a way to help...
syrindark so true
Wow she is so gorgeous & precious ♥️
I can’t believe people are evil enough to hurt or humiliate the homeless - that’s unacceptable!
Bless her soul! I hope she’s doing better now
Thank you for sharing Arien you are breaking my heart and made me cry. I am 58 and having hip issues I have applied for disability however by the time I get it I may become homeless myself.
i was just thinking about her yesterday, i even looked to see if there was a new video for her! thanks for uploading this. im happy to see that shes still alive and going strong..
plus size GODDESS hello

A ten year waiting list for section 8? That's insane!
I waited 8 years🙄
DARKKISS Its pretty common. I know someone who signed up when she was pregnant and finally got in when her child was 12!
10years is fast to some places I been waiting for 12 years by all that time I went to school and got my CDL and I'm still struggling life wasn't supposed to be easy on Earth it was meant to be hard but if u got Jesus the material things really doesn't matter cause he will provide stop depending on a system that doesn't care and reach out to the man who do Jesus
Thanks for all you do Mark and giving these people hope. I have been a couch hopper and lived in a run down hotel it lasted for three years. I’ve had my home for 4 years but I never will forget that time in my life. What can I do to help. Prayers
She's amazingly beautiful. Both on the inside and out. I will keep her in my prayers.
Sad.
Hope all will be well 🙏
This situation can happen to any of us!

Such a Beautiful Spirit that Humbles and Inspires.
What you said!!
Thanks for this channel ! Greetings from Brazil.
THAT LADY IS AMAZING AND SO BEAUTIFUL SHE DESERVES BETTER I WISH I KNEW HER SHE IS AN INSPIRATION TO US ALL .
Lisa Garcia Do you live in or around L.A. ?
She's looking great! Hope she can move forward with her situation. I bet her kids are missing her! It's sad that people judge homeless people for using makeup. Would you want to "look homeless" ? Would you want to be judged by people more than you already are? Many people are SCARED of people that "look homeless".
For most women to give up make-up and perfume is like giving up hope and not being among the living. When you stop making yourself up that's when you've given up. These people are thinking they're making a fortune panhandling for Givenchy or Dior when the reality is like under $5 and Wet-N-Wild or NYX from a CVS. Especially if they're trying to present themselves to get side jobs to get by - no one's going to hire anyone who looks like a vagrant.
Nunya Bidness look let me tell you something a lot of homeless people have children they say that they love but not doing anything better them self or keep in touch with their kids a lot of homeless people lie about their situation I'm homeless myself and there's way's to make money like recycle bottle etc you can make money doing that stop give homeless people your money yes homeless Sheather's won't take you in and they treat you like crop even when it's cold outside please stop give homeless people your hard earning money you can recycle and make $50 up to a $100 depends on how much bag of bottles you have plus not all homeless aren't nice some will rob, rape, do drugs, etc. PS nothing all homeless person do drug I'm just tried of seeing them beg on the street
Tahsunda You're way off. I was once homeless and drug addicted. The only reason I got off the street and the drugs is from the help of a kind stranger (now my landlord). Of course some homeless people do bad things, just like some people who have homes do bad things. Some of them work jobs and still can't afford a home. From my experience most people on the streets have mental health issues (just as I did and still do).
Some homeless people don't see their kids because their care takers don't allow them to, some don't because their embarrassed of their "lifestyle", some don't because they want to spare their children from having to worry about their situation, some have their kids while on the street and some don't see them because they just don't want to. Grouping all homeless people together is as silly as grouping all "homed" people together.
When a city in texas decided to allow homeless people to work cleaning up the streets for pay, these people flooded in! Many people are desperate for work but just can't find any because their homeless. Do you realize how few people would actually employ a homeless person?
If someone doesn't want to give people money or needed items, they don't have to but I will continue to do so. Once I give someone money/items it's their business what they do with it!
I respect your opinion but i disagree!
Nunya Bidness OK I'm homeless right now using a government phone I said that homeless people beg for money when they can recycle bottle and scrap metal and I was talking about the one that beg for money on the street
Nunya Bidness OK may be I was wrong for the kids comment but the rest was Truth they beg money for coffee you give them then they keep on asking you for money some homeless people look desperate begging for money when they ask me I tell to them to recycle they get mad at me and tell me to shut the f up or the you see you collecting bottle they make fun of you or they see as least than them I seen it all just because the you dig through trash for for and bottles homeless people treat me really badly
What kind of person needs to throw Soda at or spit on someone that is homeless ? I know that every time I see someone that is homeless and in need I give them money or a meal.
I can’t close my heart and mind to the suffering of others. When I see a mother in front of me at the food store but things back because she doesn’t have enough money I offer to pay. I’m grateful that I have a good life but I think that means I should help those I can.
M Soda
That would make me want to jerk someone up by the hair of their head and give them a lesson on respect!
that's what I'm saying! Even If I don't have anything to give, I'd NEVER consider dehumanizing someone living on the streets. I'm from a city where homelessness is sort of glamorized because there's a community of togetherness, and helpfulness. BUT, it's still one of those things we can't take lightly. There are people living on the street getting things thrown on them while a billionnaire is president is literally toying with the civil/economic rights of other humans. Insane.
Jackasses that eat entitlement and bitterness for breakfast
Absolutely disgusting that someone throws a drink on a person, never mind they don't have a home to wash that off! I'm amazed at the callousness. Homeless people have to be so strong and smart to protect yourself on all fronts
EVERY time you see a homeless person? What city do you live in where there's so few homeless people you can afford to feed every single one you see? Here in Memphis Tn I'd become homeless myself if I even gave every homeless person I saw $1.
Beautiful & smart Human Being-!! Thoughts & Prayers go out to her ... may God Bless her and keep her save & find her a home-! Much Love sent..!
Thank you for this channel this was once a motivation of my own glad to see someone giving our brothers and sisters out here a voice my heart feels for these circumstances I always do what I can to help no matter what but I always said when I get to where I need financially I will be orchestrating something major to help my people I don't understand why we allow this to happen no one in the world should be homeless or starving while we have tv shows with contestants answering questions for fun and thousands to millions of printed paper that could be going to others smh so dissapointing our society God loves you beautiful ✨❤️❤️❤️❤️
Omgeee I was wondering what was happening with her. She’s so beautiful. My gosh I pray that she can get off the damn streets
$10,000 was raised. I hope she has her apartment by now and the money wasn't used for others personal needs.
Neak Laszaiy thats a blessing
She is not homeless now..
I love you.
Your not alone.
Please remember this!
So much positivity and great soul I hope she is blessed soon.
She looks healthy skin glowing i hope it works out for her
I don’t understand why people throw things at homeless people and harass them.
I think it is fear...their fear of becoming homeless themselves.
She’s so beautiful inside and out. I’m praying for a miracle for her and all the others like her !!! 💕
Youre wonderful person, to do all those interwievs and giving attention to people who really need it! Thank you so much for this action and keep doing it ! great job! :-)
I was homeless in overtown, Miami and had an egg thrown @ me while I was trying to sleep. Felt really terrible. Incredibly degrading. I know how you felt, A.
You're a strong one for surviving that experience and not letting such cruel people keep you down. Sorry you had to deal with the ass end of humanity 🙏🏾🙌🏾
So sorry to hear that...
Pray to the Lord for shelter. That is one of his promises. He will provide just ask Him
@My Channel Is Trash Proud of you. 👏
No , You misinterpreted their act of kindness, they were providing you with nourishing food by giving you an egg for breakfast in the morning! You must see the good in the acts of love from good Samaritans. They even cracked the egg so you wouldn't need to, but still you complain! Mama Mia, why are people so easy to whine and blubber over the charity of strangers? You wanted eggs Benedict with asparagus, Hollandaie sauce and caviar! 😖
Amen. "I am enough" Arian- I pray you get your kids back, get a great job and get your own house. Ameen. 🙏 Keep your head up Sister. 😉
This is a very bright lady. It is a shame that she is going through what is going through. I've learned a lot by watching these videos. This is the first time I post a comment. I've watched at least 10 videos.
I appreciate her honesty; That's wonderful💜
God bless her, I really hope she will be able to get a home!❤️❤️❤️
I saw on her facebook she has a home now I think, good for her, I hope to see an update video by Mark Horvath on this....

No disrespect sir for you are doing a phenomenal job bringing these stories to light. God Bless you. Now, let's go further ❤
I take my hat off to you arien, you are a real fighter.
I hope that your situation improves
Sending so much love to this beautiful lady. I would open my home to her if I could, girl if you can ever make your way to Canada there's a home here for you ❤️
You are so beautiful. I’m 68 and live in Missouri. I can’t imagine how you’re coping.
This is a very resilient lady, i hope she can find a source to help her get a home, what a nice lady. This was a nice video on hope for this type of life style, she will be one who makes it.
I love how she keeps herself up despite her current circumstances.
Why can't someone open up their home n let this woman stay awhile?????? I live in Canada. Rents are high. I am waiting 9 yrs for a 1 room apartment, rent controlled. I know it will not happen. I will die here in my damp, humid basement.....n my health issues are affected by this. I am always cold even in the heat of summer. I remember Brenda from New York n her $3.oo lipstick. Her story was very sad. No one deserves this kind of treatment after 35yrs working. What a bunch of crock. Ask the Kardashians to give you a room. Lord knows they have TOO MUCH TO SPARE!!! Where is the humanity???
Canada eh! I thought your safety net there was better than in the US? I live in Seattle and our homeless situation here is awful. It's incredibly expensive to live here. Defiantly no rent control. Good luck and wishes. Brenda is awesome. Lots of Brenda's out there
Malka Ringel because it’s a stranger and we don’t know their issues I would open my doors but I’m afraid that this person won’t put an effort in looking for a job
Democratic states - Expensive living and high taxes
I would do so, but I am facing possible homelessness myself due to disability and lack of assistance.
My mom just died without a will and I don't have help. I don't have a way to go back to school to be qualified for less physically demanding work and hopefully be able to have medical/dental care to help with the pain.
I have little worry about someone stealing from me, because these things are temporary anyway.
But I think we would need to see eye to eye when it comes to God and our lives, then it's more likely I could trust them not to think they need to steal or anything else... But instead we could even help one another in different ways.
Tracey M. Very kind of you to even contemplate allowing Ariel to have a place to lay her head. Ever notice, it's those of us who have less, who are willing to help? Those with more n in excess....may donate to charities but not actually be charitable in nature !!! Thanks for your comments. Terribly sorry for all you are now enduring. I wish for you, better days ahead n less pain. (I live with chronic pain n it wears a body/mind down) Chin up....be strong!!!
God Bless this Beautiful Lady, prayers for her & her children . I hope she has a job & place to live by now 5-2-19
Awe I remember her, I was hoping and praying that she had found a home ..i don't know how she does it, she's so beautiful and so smart.. She really doesn't deserve to be out on the streets, God bless her ♥
I've been homeless in the past (real on the streets homeless). I now have a home (rented) a motorbike that I use for my job.
But I'm always 3 paycheques away from being back there.
Life is fucking tough sometimes.
I hope this (beautiful) woman manages to turn it around. I'm in London, but I would take her in.
Any updates? I love her

God Bless you Arien . I hope things get better you and everyone who needs a home.
These stories break my heart, they truly do. Arien is an exceptionally bright, smart, together young lady. I'm surprised she has held it together for so long without having a breakdown or developing PTS syndrome from all she has experienced and witnessed on the streets of L.A. I feel so helpless, and I imagine a lot of people do. These "Invisible People" segments truly put a human face on the homeless crisis. Lately, I pass homeless people and I understand why some of them self-medicate: Life can be extremely painful, and sometimes you just want to numb the hurt. It's definitely not a solution to anyone's problems, but for the first time in my 55 years, I can now understand it. I believe homeless housing can work in many neighborhoods, so long as social services professionals are available onsite and the most responsible, stable residents are deputized to operate and manage the environment. Many of the people featured in these segments have these leadership qualities: They just need the resources to become stable and the support to develop these skills to put them into practice.
We don't know what happens in people's lives. People are quick to judge. Walk a mile in her shoes with her depression and I'm sure other issues. Her smile and positive attitude is contagious.
Bless you Arien
Bless all homeless. Bless IP
U really have my respect!!! Stay strong. It's sad though. U shouldn't be out there. I wish you the best and may your wonderful soul and beautiful smile not be destroyed by this struggle you're going through. God bless you.
We are glad this lady is now working. An update was posted this year.
You are an very good hair and make up artist. That could be a source of income.
This woman is highly articulate and gorgeous. I don't see why someone wouldn't hire her!
Maybe because she hasn't tried to get a job? Can't get hired if one doesn't apply. She thinks that she's going to model and become famous. Can anyone say delusional as all hell?
I think she's Awesome and lovely inside out. I'm praying for her and her son. I know she will make it. God will see her through, I can relate through alot of what she went through. She deserves a good home and life with her Son.
This here is extremely humbling. She is very strong emotionally and mentally.
Wish this beautiful women all the best in life
I was told by a woman trying to get into Low Cost Housing ( City Housing Authority ) That those that are going To School and or working go to the Top of the List . So I think they pick and Choose who gets in first . I believe The List is B.S. God Bless !
I hope this woman is ok now with a beautiful home ❤️ what a wonderful woman ❤️ She deserves only the best ❤️
She has a great smile! Strong and positive I pray things get better for her!
Two year wait for Section 8 housing in my area. 10 year wait is crazy. It's like even Section 8 is telling the homeless to jump, to have the wait be 10 years.
And, people should be glad that Mark got the other lady a van, and not judge him for not getting her an apartment. She now has something. It keeps her dry during rain, and it's a place to sleep, besides the side walk, and she can turn the heat on in winter, and it's her own domain. Yes, it's not an apartment, but we should be happy about the van. At least it's something. People make it a point to judge, and I want to yell at the judgmental. It's sickening and tiring that the homeless run into thousands of judgmental people, and MAYBE one or two aren't judgmental. Today, I saw a guy wearing a shirt that said, "Only God can judge me," and I wanted to tell him, "Nice shirt."
Like Mark said, hopefully his next interview with Arien will be in her living room.
Inspiring Lady.
She has inner beauty that shines ..im happy see is finally getting the help and respect that she desives.
You are a Beautiful person, I pray God changes this world soon! I help the homeless here in Seattle as much as possible! They is HOPE stay strong something GOOD in going to come out of this, I am Praying 🙏 for you and God Bless you🙋♀️🌼💜
Love you Arien 💕
God bless you. Your hair, makeup eyebrows all so beautiful. Hold on to hope. Best of luck to you....
I love to see her courage and charms in her face. I can assure that one day she will tell her story to the homeless and make a big difference.
It’s good to see you still smiling , Arien.
I understand that you are a young woman who has freedom to make yourself look good with makeup. Although people judge you & may prevent to help you because you don’t seem desperate just like what other says that you are not depressed enough. I think that it’s mostly because of fake homeless people who are out there to collect money with deception. I’ve seen some myself pretending as if they are with disabilities. I felt bad to be deceived by them. Since then, I try to decent whether the individuals with pan handling is true or not before I decide to help them. Some of them are so make believe. It’s sad to worry about it to help someone who are in needs.
Most people who help homeless are not financially well off. I try to save money to manage each month by purchasing cheap same foods & support them, but when I find out that they cheat on me, I felt robbed. It hurts.
It’s because this world is evil & has full of unrighteousness people around. In a ways, if you want money from others badly, you could do anything to make people believe you with homeless looking but you don’t. Well, people have a stereotype of homeless. You may can change their judgement over homeless. Stay positive is great idea. I admire you on that. Most people lose smiles in their tough times you know.
I’d suggest you to keep praying to God for your hopes & proclaim them in Jesus name. There’s a power in His name & in our words.
Praying for you!!! Be strong! 🙏
I’m heart broken she is still on the street
herfaith183 hello
She asked if she was homeless , not her gender.

Keep doin what yu doin man, it’s ppl like yu that make the world a better place
God bless her beautiful heart! Shocking that there are so many people who COULD help her and so many ways she could be helped to get permanent shelter when you look at all that is here in the US.
Why can't she go to a temp agency and try to be an office worker or go to a supermarket and try to get a job as a clerk? I don't understand how she can go on begging in the street with how mean people are. Isn't it easier to just get a job? Why wouldn't they hire her? She looks nice and is polite. If there is no help from the social services, then why not just try to work? If she has a steady income, she can maybe get a room with roommates. I feel like there must be some deeper reason this is going on.
Babu
OK, you're homeless.
You go get an application and start filling it out.
Name: everyone has one
Address: whoops! Think they'll take "third doorway past 5th and Main" as an address?
She's shared in a previous interview that she worked as a security guard multiple times, but kept losing her jobs when her employers found out she was homeless. It is really hard to find work and keep work when you don't have an address! A lot of people do not want to employ the homeless by default, even if you're a great employee. It's also common for people on the street to develop learned helplessness. After awhile, they give up. Mark has talked about that on this channel before and I have experienced it having been homeless and sold before. It's a natural consequence of long-term trauma, may not have been an issue for the person before, and may not be possible to overcome without adequate professional assistance that may not be available when you are extremely poor.
Edit: I see at the end that Mark mentioned learned helplessness and Arien said she has not accepted her situation. I still stand by what I said, as I imagine that it has still affected her to some degree. Even if a person doesn't completely give up, it seems unavoidable to me that homelessness would drag a person down. For most people it is one hell of a trauma.
If you get money you go to the post office and get a PO box, then you have an address. It used to cost only $15 for a year. You can also get one at FedEx i believe or Mailboxes Etc., those kind of shipping places. You need some imagination and skills. She seems smart enough though.
Babu Employers may still be suspicious if you do not have a street address and they can still find out that you are homeless through other channels.
You might get depressed for a while but then you have to look at your situation and make your best effort to pull yourself up. You can't wallow in your helplessness forever. It is part of growing up. What do you mean you were sold, were you trafficked as in human trafficking? Sometimes you have to lie and say you have a place if that is what it takes. I can't imagine someone firing a good working just because of their home.
Mark-give this woman a ticket to come to Quebec, Canada. I have nothing but I have a couch n living room. The government gives 💰 monthly.....come. You are welcome. We are the land of the strong n free.
Malka Ringel
That’s a sweet thing to do.👍🏼
That's really kind of you Malka :) I know people with many spare bedrooms who wouldn't care to be that generous.
I doubt she'd be granted citizenship! Maybe make the same offer to someone who is already a citizen and lives near by you! I just brought in a man who didn't have a place to live as a roommate and now he's thriving. He got welfare for 2 months and now he works in construction.
Nunya, I've considered helping homeless persons by allowing them to get off the streets and have a home base to get on their feet. I truly want to help people whom can't help themselves however, I've seen others whom did allow persons to live with them and in every case, it was a disaster for all parties involved and the homeless went right back to being homeless while the helpers refused to ever help another homeless person again. What did you do to insure a successful out come?
malika" Cool. But she will now need a passport just to get into Canada. And she will be cross-examined at the border, make sure that she looks good and normal and says that she is just visiting Canada as a tourist.
I have me..........this is the most important thing at the end. At the core.
Thank you lady. You are an inspiration.
Ur an inspiration I was home less for years but I'm a Navy Veteran so I got help. Don't lose hope God is good. If ur ever in San Antonio Texas look me up there are a lot of resources out here.
The whole west coast is too damn expensive.
So is the east coast, especially New York.
I don't know about violence but it seems like homeless people are going to have to start getting together and taking over abandoned buildings or something because not nearly enough is being done to help them! I just hope this lady can get off the streets soon.
Haputale I'm from the UK and last winter a group in London took over a building for the homeless because people were dying on the streets in the cold. I don't think anyone would say what they did was wrong.
Theres power in numbers. Martin Luther King taught us that. The rich are very afraid of the growing number of poor around them. At any moment thousands could easy over run a single neighborhood before any police could stop them. The wealthy need to stop and think that the protections they THINK will protect them are really non existent. Look at New Orleans during Hurricane Katrina. Entire communities got overtaken once the supplies and help were no longer there due to government mismanagement. I never condone violence but there is going to be a time in the near future when the have-nots are going to far out number the wealthy. And when social structures continually break down, people are just going to mob together in the thousands and take whatever they need.
It will. Only get them arrested and kill and some will make it out alive. Taking over any thing thats not legal to do will only add to the problem..... The rich get richer and the poor get poorer.
You are such a strong, beautiful woman Arien❤️😊❤️💪 I'm glad you are finally safe in your own place ❤️🙏❤️
I admire her positive outlook. Despite her hardship. I am praying for her.
How can I get a hold of her. I would like to help
Something wrong here.
The one clue was in an other interview she mentioned living with her mom and kid in an other state andher mom threw them out. Why.?
This lady deserves better, her faith and spirit is special. I truly hope things get better for her.
How on earth can a women like this be in the situation that she’s in, it shouldn’t be so.
You can't help but love her I mean really... She just has a beautiful spirit
Sir what’s your story ? How did you get out of being homeless?
San luis Obispo has lots to offer you. We have so many resources available. Look it up yourself and you will find it's safer and better resources. Southern California isn't the best place for any homeless! I wish you all the best!
What an amazing, beautiful woman. May God bless her and her kids.
God blessed you, keep fighting, peace and blessings to you always.
He set that intention for her, now she is no longer homeless 😍
