    one thing for saftey purposes, cover the propane hose with tin foil to protect it from splashing oil. :)
    Oh I just remembered another tip. I watched an Alton Brown video on this and he only heated up the oil to 250 to start then turned up the heat to 350, I think or 360. That will help the initial splashing as well

    The only thing I don't agree with is rinsing the turkey off. Let thaw completely, pat dry then inject it and rub it down with them good ole seasonings!! Cajun style of course!! I use the fill line in the pot because I will never deep fry a turkey over 15 lbs and that seems to be the perfect line! Also, I don't trim all the extra skin and fat, that adds flavor and the crispy skin happens to be my favorite! Lol. All in all, good video, deep fried is the only way to go now!! I had the traditional turkey for 30 years but got spoiled with flavor and juices when I deep fried my first one!! Thanks for the video sir!!

    • @TheAmateursAmateur
      @TheAmateursAmateur  Před rokem

      Peanut oil has a high tempature threshold, so it won't burn do to the high heat of the propane. I've used corn oil in this thing for a fish frys, and since i didn't cook for long, the oil didn't burn.
      I use the peanut oil 3 times before i discard. However, you have to filter out the turkey char with a cheese cloth. Once you do that, then you can put it in the fridge or freezer to store it. I hope this helps. Thank you very much for viewing.

      I didn't even realize that until you said it. Anyway try to visualize this. There is a circular base with a 2' (approx. not sure the exact lenght ) skinny loop attached to it. You stick the skinny loop up the turkey's ass until the end of the loop comes out of the neck. The ass of the turkey will sit on the base. At that point, just attach the hook to the skinny loop, and you are all set. The hook and the skinny loop base comes with all turkey fryers when you buy them. No need to purchase separately. I hope this helps and thank you for viewing!

    Another so called expert giving out wrong advice --- Wrongs in this video: first wrong never determine oil level with bird in the bag- 2nd oh good lick the bowl after your done injecting a raw Turkey good way to get sick-- 3rd never move a oil filled pot onto a lit burner, light it after pot is filled with oil and in place on the burner-- 4th not so much a wrong BUT the reason the hook has such a big opening is not for your gloved hand but to use a 2x3 (etc) so 2 people can drop the bird in, you will have way better control to slowly immerse the bird this way and it keeps the grease splatter off your clothes.
    AND very Glad this guy said to turn off the flame at drop and removal --- believe it or not the instructions in the fryer kits don't say that --- this is the main and biggest danger in deep frying peeps that leave the flame on

    • @TheAmateursAmateur
      @TheAmateursAmateur  Před 4 lety +7

      Peeved Patriot thank you for taking time to watch my video as well as providing your feedback. As far as your first point, you most definitely can determine your fill line (an accurate one at that) with the turkey still in the bag. When adding your oil to the determined fill line, it has always been the perfect amount of oil for me, so please do not stir my viewers wrong by saying NEVER. However, if you/they want to take the turkey out of the bag first to determine your/their fill line, then so be it. That is your/their prerogative, but this is how I've been doing for the past 13 years, and will continue to keep doing it this way. Secondly, c'mon man why would you even remotely think that I said lick the (raw poultry) bowl? I said "LICK THE BONE".
      I have to agree with your 3rd statement 100%. Lastly, if a man/woman is not physically able to slowly submerge a 13-20 pound turkey into the fryer, then by all means use the 2x3 and an extra body for assistance. Otherwise, it is easier to slowly submerge with your own strength. As far as the splashing goes, put on an apron, and you'll be all set.
      Thank you again for your input, and I hope you at least enjoyed the video, and I hope I got a like out of you!
