You got me all hungry, will do this in December !!!!
Happy Thanksgiving and thank you for viewing!
Thanks for your instructions. You made it safe and easy secret recipe from your grandpa.
Yes it’s soo funny that’s all others put frozen turkey right away in deep fryer haha
Your ideas was defrost turkey, cleaned out fats and stuffs and put it fridge (not freezer) for 12-18 hours. That’s a great idea 👍🏻
Great video! You’re hilarious 😂 Also very informative!
Glad you enjoyed! Thank you for viewing!
Homeboy U Rock!!!!😎😎👍🏼👌🏼
Not only very informative but entertaining - had me crackin' up with your tips and recommendations. Radio DJ voice LOL
I'm glad you enjoyed it. Happy Thanksgiving and thank you very much for viewing!
Great
My man! You season so Good! 😂
A.....thanx bro.......I'm doin my first here ina couple dayz.... appreciate the info.....
That is dope. You are going to love it. Just be safe bruh! Thank you for viewing.
Absolutely
Good instructions but "wash your dirty ass sink" made my morning. Thank you!
Hahahahaha...Thank you for viewing!
Chef Zir!
one thing for saftey purposes, cover the propane hose with tin foil to protect it from splashing oil. :)
Oh I just remembered another tip. I watched an Alton Brown video on this and he only heated up the oil to 250 to start then turned up the heat to 350, I think or 360. That will help the initial splashing as well
The foil on the propane hose is genius. Thanks to you, I wrapped it up before I went to be tonight, so it's one less thing to do tomorrow. I never ever thought about doing that. Thanks for such a great tip. Happy Thanksgiving and thank you for viewing!
😂😂This DIY video was epic bro💪🏽Thanks for the information my guy hopefully I don’t blow it today
Great video! I do wonder why not put minced garlic in the butter dry rub so you don't have those slits?
Don't know if I can take advice from a broncos fan (go chargers) but I own some John Elway Jerseys so I'll listen lmao. Gonna do this, this Thanksgiving man. Gonna follow ur steps looks golden brutha.
The AFC is fun to watch period lol. I see you're a techy, so I'm gonna have to check you out. Thank you for viewing!
@@TheAmateursAmateur just did this for my early Thanksgiving. Dude your recipe and techniques are amazing bro. Everything worked wonderfully. Only thing I did different was deep fry it in a electric deep fryer. Dude I recommend this 10000%
@@TheAmateursAmateur also yes sirrrr AFC west is just as fun as the NFC North man always good games.
Nuff Respect Blackman....
Thanks no more fear of wanting to deep fry a turkey cause I seen the videos of disaster with this and I just had to find out what's the proper way,
Not sure how I ended up here considering I was binge watching Christmas DIY's lol but this was very informative. Great video. Thank you for sharing!!
Burnt ass turkey da fuck 😂
@@scuffedalcapone3409 I can't stop laughing. You sound like me, but that turkey was cooked to perfection. Thank you for watching and commenting, and I'm still laughing!!!
Thanks brotha👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼😎😎Now your invited to our Next Carne Asada😜😜 Us Mexicans and our big ass parties lol🙀
This will be my first year and thanks bro. I going to be very disrespectful to the turkey 🤣🤣🤣
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Good luck bruh, and be sure not to buy a frozen turkey. Thank you for viewing.
That’s a beautiful bird! Do you recommend brining the bird at all? I would still season it disrespectfully, of course 😂
Turkey looks like Freddy Kruger
Yooooooooo...That is funny. Good one! Thank you for viewing bruh.
The only thing I don't agree with is rinsing the turkey off. Let thaw completely, pat dry then inject it and rub it down with them good ole seasonings!! Cajun style of course!! I use the fill line in the pot because I will never deep fry a turkey over 15 lbs and that seems to be the perfect line! Also, I don't trim all the extra skin and fat, that adds flavor and the crispy skin happens to be my favorite! Lol. All in all, good video, deep fried is the only way to go now!! I had the traditional turkey for 30 years but got spoiled with flavor and juices when I deep fried my first one!! Thanks for the video sir!!
Thank you for the comment brother. I am going to use cajun seasoning this Thursday for the first time. I can't wait lol. Thank you for viewing and have a Happy Thanksgiving!
@@TheAmateursAmateur if you can, find the cajun injector brand and use the creole butter flavor and inject it!! I promise you won't regret it!! Happy Thanksgiving and thanks for the content!! Let me know if you try it and what you think!
How can I get/buy the song in the background?
Now that makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside LOL. I made that beat on some lil stupid app that my wife had on her ipad. I couldn't even tell you the name of the app. I hope you enjoyed the video!
Amateur? I don’t think so! Thank you for sharing! You know how to cook one mean turkey!
Thanks Beth....Happy Thanksgiving and thank you for viewing!
The Amateur's Amateur Thanks! I hope your Thanksgiving was a good one as well. The turkey was hands down, the BEST turkey I have ever cooked! And I have cooked more turkeys than a lot of viewers are in age. I followed the instructions you gave almost to the letter. The only difference was I used a sweet mesquite rub for the skin. Your recipe is pure genius!
Question...you said not to use a knife to separate the skin, so why did you proceed to slit and inject it in several places?
hell yee dont be cheap with seasonings! Amen.
Good luck everyone. FYI: Fire extinguishers start at $14 at Walmart. Buy one... just in case.
What PSI is your propane regulator, 5 or 10 PSI? Thanks!!
I'm not sure. Happy Thanksgiving and thank you for viewing!
Anyone: What do people do with the oil, I know you need to cool it before placing back into original bottle but is there a certain amount of times it can be reused? I would also like to cook a duck or chicken in the same oil is that ill advised? Would you suggest different oils for different poultry?
Peanut oil has a high tempature threshold, so it won't burn do to the high heat of the propane. I've used corn oil in this thing for a fish frys, and since i didn't cook for long, the oil didn't burn.
I use the peanut oil 3 times before i discard. However, you have to filter out the turkey char with a cheese cloth. Once you do that, then you can put it in the fridge or freezer to store it. I hope this helps. Thank you very much for viewing.
@@TheAmateursAmateur Thanks because oil isn't cheap and I purchased a 5 gallon jug for just under $50
What kind of string did you tie together the legs of the turkey?
Hello Miss Gibson. You wouldn't happen to be from CT? Anyway you have to use twine which you can buy from any super market. I should be highly available now too. I hope this helps, and thank you for viewing!
@@TheAmateursAmateur I am from Michigan. I was telling my male cousin Eric about you and I shared your video with him. He is a little nervous about deep frying a turkey. We both have never done it before. Then I discovered your video. You really do make it seem very easy. Thank you so much! Have A Happy Thanksgiving! 🦃💙
@@TheAmateursAmateur thank you again.
"whatever the hell this thing is" - haha
Bruh I still don't know lol. Happy Thanksgiving and thank you for viewing!
I see he tied up the wings and legs, what do you use to do this?
I use twine which you get get at any grocery store or Amazon (especially now). Thank you for viewing!!!
That Turkey was burnt af! 😂😂😂 Brahhhh I would have done a retake on this one.
Lmao!!! Dead right now
That damn turkey look like it went through a war!!!
Yooooooooo....Hahahahahahahaha! Why you have me cracking up in my bed right now? Happy Thanksgiving and thank you for viewing!
Happy Thanksgiving Trav and thank you for viewing!
What ingredients did you inject it with?
He mentioned his rub and melted butter. I don't believe he said what his rub consist of, but definitely he added melted butter.
I just rewatched it and he said click on the link and he will share what's in the rub.
@@stephaniegibson9410 Thank you.
Thank you for viewing!
@@TheAmateursAmateur what spices do you use?? And is there a brine for your bird?? I'm frying my first turkey and really don't want to screw it up..thank you for your upload my brother
Thank you sir but vinegar is NOT disinfecting your sink.
I can't even deny your statement. In fact, I use a bleach solution like a MF...lol. Especially now in this COVID era. I appreciate the comment, and I really appreciate you taking the time to view my video knowing there's a ton of them out there. I hope you have a Happy Thanksgiving young lady!!!
if I can do it,you can do it...if yan can cook so can i!!!..LOL
I swear you're an effing genius. I will have a ton of cooking videos coming soon, so it only makes sense to have a spin off title. If I steal that title, I hope you don't mind lol. Thank you for viewing!
@@TheAmateursAmateur its all good man..LOL 😆
Yea you didnt show how to hook the bird at all to whete at ect...
I didn't even realize that until you said it. Anyway try to visualize this. There is a circular base with a 2' (approx. not sure the exact lenght ) skinny loop attached to it. You stick the skinny loop up the turkey's ass until the end of the loop comes out of the neck. The ass of the turkey will sit on the base. At that point, just attach the hook to the skinny loop, and you are all set. The hook and the skinny loop base comes with all turkey fryers when you buy them. No need to purchase separately. I hope this helps and thank you for viewing!
Try smoking the turkey it’s personally taste better to me. But a turkey is delicious anyway you cook it
"Lick a bone and let me know what it taste like."
Happy Thanksgiving and thank you for viewing!
When your comment is... "I don't lick bones but I will eat some meat." Well sh*t, that didn't sound right either. 🤔😳🤦🏿♂️🤷🏿♂️🤣
Ok so I'm reporting back and... I ate the bones 😳 Happy Thanksgiving
No dish soap turkey 😭😭
HAHAHAHHAHAHA....Happy Thanksgiving and thank you for viewing!
Gloves but I hope the sink was really clean
Obviously it was... I call out people that never have anything nice to say.. always gotta say something negative... MOVE ON KAREN!!!
If you rewatch it at 3:30 he said "Please wash your dirty ass sink" WATCH AND LISTEN BEFORE YOU TALK ABOUT OTHERS!!!!
Whats in your injection?
Some melted butter and my dry rub. Check out the dry rub link at the end of this video.
Another so called expert giving out wrong advice --- Wrongs in this video: first wrong never determine oil level with bird in the bag- 2nd oh good lick the bowl after your done injecting a raw Turkey good way to get sick-- 3rd never move a oil filled pot onto a lit burner, light it after pot is filled with oil and in place on the burner-- 4th not so much a wrong BUT the reason the hook has such a big opening is not for your gloved hand but to use a 2x3 (etc) so 2 people can drop the bird in, you will have way better control to slowly immerse the bird this way and it keeps the grease splatter off your clothes.
AND very Glad this guy said to turn off the flame at drop and removal --- believe it or not the instructions in the fryer kits don't say that --- this is the main and biggest danger in deep frying peeps that leave the flame on
Peeved Patriot thank you for taking time to watch my video as well as providing your feedback. As far as your first point, you most definitely can determine your fill line (an accurate one at that) with the turkey still in the bag. When adding your oil to the determined fill line, it has always been the perfect amount of oil for me, so please do not stir my viewers wrong by saying NEVER. However, if you/they want to take the turkey out of the bag first to determine your/their fill line, then so be it. That is your/their prerogative, but this is how I've been doing for the past 13 years, and will continue to keep doing it this way. Secondly, c'mon man why would you even remotely think that I said lick the (raw poultry) bowl? I said "LICK THE BONE".
I have to agree with your 3rd statement 100%. Lastly, if a man/woman is not physically able to slowly submerge a 13-20 pound turkey into the fryer, then by all means use the 2x3 and an extra body for assistance. Otherwise, it is easier to slowly submerge with your own strength. As far as the splashing goes, put on an apron, and you'll be all set.
Thank you again for your input, and I hope you at least enjoyed the video, and I hope I got a like out of you!
