    Never knew there was such a thing as an oil cooled engine. Been turning wrenches for 50 years. Learn something new every day! Nice overview.

      Yeah those Germans make some odd stuff. Seems to work well though. Thanks for watching!

    I'd consider you an expert on bobcats, how does one understand every single component on a machine like this? Its incredibly impressive!!! You grow up turning wrenches on these for a family business or somehting like that?

      Haha thanks. I don't have any long history with them. Just a keen interest and free time to research I guess. Almost all of the information in the video comes from the service manual.

    Any ideas if there is a serial # stamped on the engine? I have a 863C, serial plate is on the boom but completely illegible.

      @AlwaysBored123  Před 4 měsíci

      There should be a serial # on a plate on top of the valve cover on the engine. You will probably have to remove the muffler to see it. The machine serial might also be stamped into the frame just above the chain case fill plug on the outside, or in front of the pedals on the inside. Dealer may be able to tell you machine serial based on engine serial.

    How many hours are to many on a 873?
    Do you recommend a 873 or any other similar machines?

      How high is the sky? I've seen machines with 2000 hours that were completely beat and ones with 10,000 still going strong it just depends on how it was used. I like the Deutz powered 863/873/864. I'm not a fan of most other Kubota powered Bobcats.

    I just recently bought the same model, but I can’t get the arms to go up. The bucket will curl forward and down and it will run. I can move it back-and-forth, but but arms won’t lift the bucket over the cab. Is there a secondary place to put hydraulic fluid, or is there another problem?

    • @AlwaysBored123
      @AlwaysBored123  Před 11 měsíci

      Do the arms lift at all? If they just won't go high enough then you're probably low on hydraulic fluid. If they don't move at all then look at the linkage between the pedal and valve spool. There is only the one place to put hydro fluid.

    the 873G clunkier uglier version of the 763G. Our 99 763G is a POS. both hydro pumps completely grenaded last year. they were frankensteined back together in 2019 after the spools failed. aside from those failures and the clunky controls, she's still going strongish

      Dang sounds like your 763 is pretty worn out. This one is nice to run only thing I don't like is the foot controls.

    That machine is way over complicated. Other manufactures make machine the are just as good, but much much simpler ...

      Yeah Bobcat really loves delicate electronics for some reason. Can't say I'm a fan of that.
