Yamaha Outboard Small Engine Carburetor Repair Cleaning Ethanol Gas 😀👍🏼

  • 1999 Yamaha 8HP 2-Stroke Outboard was not running when I got it thrown in for a boat, trailer, and engine deal real cheap. I tore apart the carburetor and cleaned the entire fuel system. If I can do it, you can do it. Ethanol gas in older engines is really really bad for it. It gums up and clogs the carburetor. It can also build gunk in the tank and entire fuel system. Don't throw it away or pay lot of money getting it fixed, you can do it yourself. The repair concept is very similar to most small 2 cycle engine systems especially those with a carburetor.

Thanks for sharing! I was looking for that exact video. Btw it's my understanding that the only difference between the 8hp and the 9.9 is the carb!
    (Notice the last name! )

Awesome Peter 🤘🏻🤘🏻 I have found helpful information good and bad here. I usually watch several different videos and compare since I have seen some incorrect-bad information sometimes. I hope it helped. Yes, I had heard about the 8 and 9.9, but I don't know much about it. As in the last name Earnhardt ? I'm a huge 3 Sr and 88 Jr fan.

Very helpful, apart from your voice being drowned out by the dreadful music

@@raybaby I'd suggest redoing this video without the bizarre music

@@randystambaugh6733 thanks for feedback. I was still new making videos and learning. I agree and if I still have the original footage, I will adjust it. Thanks

Thanks for the comment 👍 I really don't remember specifically except I did remove everything I saw internal and external that I could see. If I did, I might have edited it out. I wanted to redo this video because people are complaining about the music being too loud. It was one of my first videos still learning and I don't think I have enough of the original anymore. If you have a tip, please add it as my desire is to help others as their videos helped me get enough confidence to do it myself for success. Thanks ☺️

Awesome 👍 mine was so full of gunk it was in everything every part the fuel contacts. I cleaned it all out so the jets don't immediately get clogged back up. Good luck sir and thanks for the comment 👍☺️

The background music is most irritating

This was one of the first videos I made and still learning. I definitely would use music if any at all differently in videos like this today. Thanks for watching and commenting.
