Micah Richards tells the Monday Night Club about the fines system for players during his time at Manchester City.
Hear from Micah on “not being a snitch”, the incredible amount Balotelli had to cough up, and talking bolt cutters to captain Vincent Kompany’s locker who kept all the fines paperwork. - Sport
This is why Kompany was a legendary captain, that's what it takes. A real leader isn't interested in being liked or making mates, he is interested in winning.
maybe but it also helps to be liked as a leader, especially in terms of keeping morale up. Kompany was liked by the other players though tbf
Nah
All captains do it. Peter crouch talked about it in his podcast and he said at every single club (and England) the captain was responsible for the fines
A Z well said
Well said 👍
Kompany's behavior was standard captain behavior - on Peter Crouch's podcast he explained that the fine sheet & paper work was typical for captains he had at every club, and England as well
TickTak77 Yes mate, was thinking about the Crouchy pod. Contesting the fine etc ..... great to hear this insight. Five grand fine!! More than I’d Hearn in several months! Mad!!!
TickTak77 Micah didn't go far so thats all he knew.
Back Stronger
Yeah these guys were acting like this was the best radio ever and they’d uncovered some unique hidden gem
I don't think they had one for England, crouchy podcast was really insightful though
Why is Micah not on more panels? Cool, funny and articulate
cos they hate blacks
Think he’s on sky sports sometimes. Enjoy listening to his insight
James Roome he's not ex United or Liverpool
He was on sky for the Manchester derby and he wasn't very good, think he's more interesting on shows like this
@@RickSanchez-mp8ou Idiot
Football players are just 16 year old lads that never grow up 😂
Balotelli is a 12-year-old who never grew up
@@MattJP_ well I wouldn't go and get all my mates uni work out of his locker and fling it about the room no.... There's stuff that footballers do that most lads grow out of when they are in their late 20's...
And I'm jealous as fuck.
What a great life they live
JayoJay yeah their certain aspects controlled so u can prolong your career, no player minds eating healthy and not smoking and drinking cause there making bags a week and playing their favorite sport
@@romanoonamor7690 Balotelli Was just being the stereo typical Italian...He is in the building, he just doesn't see why rush to get around a table. I'm from the Mediterranean area and I identify😂
Micah knows how to hold a conversation, enjoyed this
Yeah but he's ment to be a bit of a bell end an up his own ass I'm a city fan as well
@@jordanwoodhouse9734 Don't know where you heard that, I met him for about 5 minutes and he couldn't have been nicer. Check out any Man City youtube vids and he's a character
@@mattc7191 im sure I've read he's helped decrease homelessness by 25% in the city of manchester through his charity works, and I'm a united fan if that means anything.
Matt C just because you met him for 5 mins doesn’t mean he’s not an arsehole. Most of these player pro players are flash and not very nice and everything they do is to make themselves more ‘nice’ to get jobs on tv. Don’t be so naive
@@jimmysmith736 If he was up his own arse he wouldn't have stopped in the first place.
Vincent Kompany the Dwight Shrute of Man City 😂😂😂😂
Perfect 😂😂😂
Micah is an absolute gent and totally likeable bloke.
Such joie de vivre.
Micah is so watchable and his laugh is infectious hes great 😂😂😂
Listening to this it's not really that surprising city have fallen apart a bit following kompany's departure. His absence is clearly being felt more than just on the pitch.
Real talk players like Milner and kompany and Gerrard's are a dying breed.
@@realnesx Agreed, when my club loses our captain Matt Beasler we are gonna hurt
Would’ve thought injuries did that
This comment has aged poorly.
@@Wheres_the_money_lebowski Thanks to Reuben Diaz
lol I can imagine Kompany in that dressing room. I suppose since he was the captain, he didn't need to be liked just respected.
Well
SOTSoulja be surprised if he wasn't lived let alone like
Here's to you Vincent kompany city miss you more than you will know
There will never be another captain like Vincent kompany
absolute class cheers lads.
No wonder why aston villa got relegated when you were the captain
Ahaha harsh lol
George Wilson-Bland very lol
Villa would get relegated even if messi was there captain
@@Hero-and-Hooligan Messi’s a shit Captain though lol works better with someone who’s a great Captain, like Ronaldo
Micah !! Just love that guy, he’d light up everywhere he goes. CTWD
One of my favorite blues of all time 💙💙💙
I love listening to Micah Richards. I’m so glad he’s a pundit for the CL now
Kompany is a legend. Coming from a Chelsea fan
Great on his day richards
Brilliant. I remember at one point Richards was probably a more talented prospect than Kompany, but this explains why one ended up a legend and one didnt. It probably explains why City havent been as good this season - lack of leadership amongst the players. It also probably explains the big problem at Man Utd atm, having no Kompany/Keane/Ferdinand/Rooney type player to instill discilpline to the players, who at the end of the day are just big indisciplined kids.
Yeah they have Maguire now as captain. That is how far Man U have gone down, when someone comes in and gets that position !!
Micah Richards basically was too hyped up. Absolutely talented, but too much pressure, too young.
Plus he mentioned how they overpaid him, which resulted in his kind of lack of discipline. Which ultimately was his detriment
This is brilliant
This is why Vincent Kompany was a superstar level player
Gotta love Micah
Top class Micah laaa
Explains why they’ve gone down shit pan though this season now he’s gone ..
Best comment I've seen all year 🤣🤣🤣
Kompany is great. Love you Micha!!
Balotelli was actually quite decent in England
Micah Richards absolutely brilliant,
Heard him speak for the first time as he was a guest on the f.a cup coverage and I just have to say that this guys real talent is on TV/radio more so than as a footballer and that's coming from a man utd fan.
I guess that’s why Man City isn’t crushing teams like they used to anymore. After Kompany left.
I can't help but imagine that Stevie G was just the same for Liverpool 😭🤣
Captains also have to sort out the Xmas raffles and also the invitations 😅
Remember Keane saying it affected his training lol
I didn't think I would laugh but boy did I that was hilarious
If you watch Crouch's podcast he reveals that every captain at every club is responsible for fines.
I like M.R he brings an energy
Kompany kept all the lists in that massive cranium of his
Brilliant stuff, cheers Micah. Once a blue, always a blue.
Lol this is hilarious. Kompany and Milner the busy bodies.....
heres to you vincent kompany and micah city loves you more than you will know
Absolute banter.
Balatelli sounds great so does this guy!
Every football club at every level has a fine system. Journos don't have a clue!
Balotelli the unintentional philanthropist.
I can empathise with Vincent Kompany not giving his colleagues a second chance with fines.. they are overpaid anyways and a couple thousand grand may not mean much to them, but means more to the ground staff and charity..
So yeah.. he had no reason to be lenient with the players.
Great insight Micah, but maybe if you had stopped bantering around so much and actually upheld principles like Vincent did, maybe just maybe you'd have lived up to your potential..
A couple thousand grand? That would definitely mean a lot to them, paying a couple million for a fine 😂👌
Micah Richards is sat there telling Chappers's that he's "no snitch", yet he's revealing all the secrets & dishing the dirt on other players!!!
🤐🤫😜👍LMFAO❗
Linka he’s retired bro lol we’re going back years, it’s not like they’re debt collecting
@@izzycarts
My comment was a piss take, I was obviously joking.
Didn’t realise he was vice captain
Aaaa micah should be on tv more often
And this is why Kompany has 4 PL titles and Richards 1 and finished his career at Villa aged 31 having no played for 3 seasons....
There are many immature players who have won more than Vincent. Just talk about their quality.
He wasn't playing because of an injury.
@@richard.featherstone He was injured for 3years?
Ace Tanker Calm down mate. It’s just a bit of banter and a laugh
Covered this on Crouch ageeeeees ago
Kompany was a masters student, player, captain, and manager all in one lol
That video is hilarious
Anyone know were to find the full interview
Roberto Rodriguez youtube mate
Micah laughs like Kammy!
Micah is one of the funnest pundits I’ve ever seen. Much like Shannon Sharpe from the US….
Just hilarious
Imagine the kitchen staff locking big name players in the staff room before meetings. Big christmas bonus lol
Micah Richards must of been fun at school
Fines will be on your resume when you proceed to chance clubs or leagues, it's like a Cv
This is an amateur cricket as well to an extent, its more for team bonding than anything else. They sit down after the game with a drink and do it then. No more than a quid but it goes to the end of season party
Kompany sounds very Belgian
great out of focus interview lol.
Micah Richards is a funny dude. . Toontoon
lol nice 1 iam not snitch
Can see here why Richard's didn't become more than just good. Thing is he could have.
2011-2012 season he was a beast up that right side
@@rossgavin4632 He could have been a beast every season though if he took football more seriously. It's a shame really.
he was injured 24 7 mate
What here suggests this is why he wasn't better... Like, I don't even know how to defend Richards because i've got no idea what you're referring to
@@LiamsFriendStewie He was a really good player but I'm saying he could have been right up there with some of our best right backs. I can see from this interview it was his attitude that more than likely stopped him getting there.
The way Micah talks about Kompany makes me think they really didn't like each other, which is weird because Micah played in Kompany's goodbye testimonial match last year
Is this That Crouch Podcast?
muharrem kocabiyik no five live
pretty funny 😏
This tells why Micah was sent to many clubs and lost his place to new comers. Looks like he is less mature to be a leader. I had a lot of expectation when he first broke in to the first team. Even scoring that last minute goal agains Villa in FA cup. He become England's right back, then he regressed after 2 decent seasons. I know injuries could be excuses but this tells his persona. He is kind of laid back lad. Still love him so much for his banter and honesty, but retiring at 31 for right back is very premature having watched the likes of Zanetti and Maldini played until thier 40's. I wish him all best for his future.
that’s fair
Mario Balotelli grew up a very rich life, he was spoiled by his adoptive mother Mrs Balotelli. People don't understand where his attitude stems from.
hes suffered from racism since he was born, even by his own family...
Who’s the other berk? “I don’t think I’d take kindly to being fined, I”m a grown man.” It’s the same as anything they get fined because they don’t act like grown men and break the rules. Then again if an ordinary person is late for work part of their money get’s stopped. It’s the same thing so I don’t know what planet he’s on. Though because they are astronomically paid the fines are meaningless to them. It’s like an ordinary person being fined 50p.
"Once he had deducted his adminstration fees" 🤣🤣 class. Never knew the guy was that boring.
I feel bad for Kompany
They're good friends I'm sure he would see the light side of what Micah is saying. Plus...he's really not saying anything negative, he's laughing about it but...all these things are why Kompany was such a high profile Captain and such a fantastic leader for City.
I feel bad for Onuha
Why u weirdo 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Milner I expected but Vincent, jeez, glad they cut lock and threw the folder.
Kompany would definitely grass you up to the police.
That’s why Kompany was twice the player Richards was.
I don’t think Micah is contesting that mate 🙄
@@ShootEmUp2000 I never said he did but that’s why Kompany was the player he was. If Richards had that same discipline instead of being a good player he could’ve been a great one.
@@iangascoigne8231 He had injuries.
@@ShootEmUp2000 I know he had injuries. But no matter how many excuses you make for him, it won’t alter the fact if he’d had Kompanys discipline he would have been a great player instead of a good one. The same can be said about Balotelli. It’s why the other clown wouldn’t have made a footballer.
I love Micah , but god this posed me off o can’t lie. Destroying kompanys uni notes. You Can see why he was a burnout
Micah Richards should be on CBBC’s. Complete child like thought process. Football is for men by men. He is a child.
How many trophies did Richards end up with Vs kompany? Kids, take note of what's important.
Lifes about having a laugh aswell so kids take note
To much,to young ✌✌🇬🇧🇬🇧
This shows why he never could stay at the top level
Why is Mark Chapman not looking at micah Richards? Looking all over the place but not at him. Rude
Am not a snitch lol
The interviewers are acting weird facially
Get a glimpse of why Richards never really made it
I wouldn't say he never made it, he played an integral part in Man City winning the league in 2012 and was capped for England.
Listen to his podcast with Nedum Onuaha and you'll hear about how he got knee injuries early in his career (aged 20/21) and played through the pain despite doctors telling him he was causing irreversible damage to himself.
This caught up with him hence why he retired early, but to say he never made it is unfair.
@@acer908 His arrogance got to him
winning the league at a superclub isn’t making it?
endmy suffering
f*ck city & f*ck you too 😁
Made it much further than you
Mark chapman is so pc it’s unreal if he thinks that’s a story about dressing rooms he should listen to undr the cosh podcast that’ll make him cry probably
Abu dhabi human right violations tho
Roy Keane would have beat Richards up if they were in the same dressing room 🤣
The snake Kompany trying to get someone else to his dirty work. Principal Megamind
pathetic fines for the money they earn
Generous use of the word 'hilarious' here. Unfortunate that this is the world we're living in.
Not a fan of Kompany
Why didn't Micah Richards dominate as England's right-back..?
Richard C. Bower not good enough?
Injuries unfortunately
How much did they fine mullah mansour???? We like sports washing just not when its newcastle...
No wonder his career ended so early. Doesn’t take anything seriously
