Loads of watches have dials , and guess what ? They don't rotate . Who cares anyway ? I barely use the dial on my 6 classic. , so I'm happily going to teadescit in for the 7 ultra.
That is a disappointing leak. The dial is the best part of Samsung watches. The Apple watches crown causes your hands to cover the screen while you're scrolling through the ui. That dial is not only satisfying but the best idea for navigation ever on a smart watch 😢
The bezel, the circular ring around the watch face, that rotates on samsung watches. The dial, as you refer to it is a crown, the orange part on the right, and that is what he is saying might not rotate

Samsung is copying Apple in literally every way. Wide phones with flat edges. No curved displays. Square watch that literally looks like Apple watch ultra. Removed 10x lens for 5x lens. Copied Airpods design. Removed chargers from box. There's certainly more but these came off the top of my head.
They've not focused on improving their product quality either. The galaxy watches are laggy and step count is out of whack sometimes. The foldables have hardly improved in many years. And meanwhile, prices are skyrocketing.
Samsung has their priorities set in the wrong place. As a long time Samsung user, if I wanted something more like an Apple product, I'd just buy it from Apple. I'm looking to switch now more than ever.
I liked Samsung just because it was different from Apple. Now that Samsung is copying Apple in every way possible, I don't want to support it.

I 100 percent agree, if that is the watch 7 ultra it is beautiful. I love the look and will be buying it but will keep my watch 6 classic.

That crown is smooth with no ridges it might just be a fancy button.
Samsung really messed up. They used to make fun of Apple for everything they did, but now they're just copying them. They made this cool round smartwatch, but then they changed it to a square design just like Apple. They even made their own version of AirPods and got rid of the headphone jack and charger, just like Apple did. Samsung is not what it used to be, man. They're turning into "Sampple."

I feel like Samsung is mocking us with this. It's criminally offensive to make us want a Watch Ultra for years only to tell they ruined it in every possible way (no rotating bezel, proprietary watch bands). And to top it all off they blatantly copy Apple's stupidest strategies.

i dont agree, the design makes it very annoying to open the case with one hand.
It doesn't look like a dial. It looks like a functional button.
To be fair ,although I like the rotating bezel, I hardly ever use it on the 6 classic ,I just swipe the display most of the time. I do hope the strap is similar to apples fitting ,I can't stand the little pins on the 6 classic , the way apple Stop Fits is better. I do like the design of the 7 ultra. I can't wait to trade my 6 classic in for it.
The picture of the Watch 7 Ultra instantly reminded me of the Hermes H08 watch. Which is not a bad thing!

If the dial doesn't rotate, what is the point of keeping the circular design within squared case?!? May be soft rotate besels like normal galaxy watch and active use to have..

There is a ring above the square corners and screen, jutting out from the watch, which the corners don't. So maybe this lip around the screen rotates just like the traditional rotating bezel we're all used to seeing on Galaxy watches.

That makes sense, Ultra needs to be rugged and rotating dial will mess up with their Ip rating.
It definitely doesn't look like a dial that will turn. It's an aesthetic feature only. It differs way too much in styling compared to Watch6 Ultra and previous models that had it.

as a Samsung user who has a Watch and buds pro 2, i agree. i overall feel like Samsung should have just changed some things, like the case desing of the buds pro 2, very annoying to open the buds case with one hand. and overall i think samsung is slowly losing the very thing that made them different from apple.
I think the dual won't rotate. Not with the shape of that watch case.
After all the backlash that samsung got when they removed the bezel , i don't want to believe they would have a non functioning bezel

I'm glad i pick the 6 classic 43mm just few days ago coz i believe im.not gonna like the only 47mm option for the ultra.. its huge and square, eeew... 6 classic is the best looking smartwatch already
I was hyped for the new bud design but no black color option and the blue and orange accents are deal breakers for me.
Buds I’m fine with steam adds a lot .. currently using IPhone and AirPods Pro 2.. amazing sound and I think having that more real estate allows for better quality.
The watche again currently using the Apple Ultra. But nothing will ever beat the round rotating bezel.. nothing

God damn it. I got the Watch 5 Pro without the Rotating Bezel. Now I was waiting for the Watch 7 and you're telling me still no bezel? If they actually leave it out, guess I'm gonna have to wait for watch 8 or 9. I remember they removed it on the 5 and after the huge backlash they added on the 6.
Hey Sal, I hate to say it but the minimal design change of the Fold 6, combined with the absolute crappy design of the watch 7 Ultra means that I’m going back to the iPhone this fall.
I’m not dropping the amount of change that Samsung is wanting when they say they “Can’t have S-Pen support on the outer screen because it’d make it too thick”, when companies like Huawei not only have their pen working on both screens, they’re much thinner, the crease is damn near invisible, and I’m ready to own a phone that “just works”, doesn’t freeze, and doesn’t slow down all the damn time.
Sorry Samsung, YOU LOSE this round.

I get it! Samsung's new design direction is raising eyebrows! The new Mercedes-Benz designer that they hired is making Samsung products look more like Apple. The Watch Ultra, the Buds 3, and who knows, maybe the S25 next?

That's it, I'm getting the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic. Is there anything special this Ultra watch has up it's sleeve to justify the price? That's why we buy these things, to track health, pay and such not just tell the time and look pretty. Oh yeah it's 47mm....and I can't wear that....too big.
I don't think the dial/bezel rotates,my exact thoughts when i first saw it,those time makers are too bold usually they are blacked out like the older models or left plain like current ones

One day my earbuds didn't work anymore so I had to buy a new pair and because I had a little bit cash to burn, I bought the Bang & Olufsen BeoEx. What a difference in qualilty. I didn't know music could sound that good. I'm curious if Samsung can surpass Bang and Olufsen with their new earbuds...
Does Samsung mean it seriously? The S24 looks like the iPhone 15, the Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra like the Apple Watch Ultra 2, and the Galaxy Buds 3 like the AirPods Pro. They've just copied Apple's entire lineup? XD

Not having a dial would be terrible. I have a very hard time using watch5 pro without a dial in wet environments. They follow Apple in everything so why not in the dial also which is really useful.

I don't hate the design it's pretty nice. I heard a designer for Mercedes-Benz participated. It looks pretty techy.
If the Watch 5 bands don't work with the 7 I'm not upgrading. I've got a lot of different colored bands.
It would be great if it did not actually rotate, but instead was haptic. But only if the accuracy is correct, Samsung can do whatever they please if the accuracy of their products are not correct it is not worth buying.

I love Samsung, but hate the square watch look. Wad going to buy a Samsung watch this year, but I'll pass if this watch is going to be square.
As to the watches dial not rotating, it’ll probably be some touch-sensitive BS. Another reason for me to pass it by.

Based on all the leaks I've seen, the Galaxy Watch Ultra is dead on arrival for me.

The Watch 7 is alright; that design is timeless.
However, whether the Ultra really depends on your opinion. I like that it looks nice and beautiful, but it's still an Apple thing to do if the bezel isn't rotating.
The same goes for the buds. Why would I have to pay for something that looks like an Apple product when I'm a Samsung fan?
I really wanted to upgrade my entire Samsung ecosystem this year, so I got myself an S24 Ultra, but as it looks like, I'm going to stick to my original Buds Pro and Watch 5 Pro.

So Samsung's new direction is to became Apple with android, in every possible way. They gave up the innovation and doesn't try to distinguish their products, maybe because they dont want to compete in the field of innivation, they want to compete by giving people the option to buy Apple products with android and the Samsung name tag on them. At this point im pretty sure that the S25 Ultra is gonna be almost the same as iPhone 16 pro max with S-pen.

No, they are not releasing it on July 10th. Rumors say at the end of the year or maybe with the S25 in January
January/February most likely, they have hit some production issues. They're also still in limbo on using an X Elite or SB 8 chip for the Ultra model as they want to bring it more in line with the M4 Ipad Pro.
