Barry...I agree...SCA is awesome. I have five of their J99 (John Hardy / Jensen Twin Servo) modules and they are phenomenal. Build quality is top notch and the sound is unreal. I also use the Synergy system for my guitar tones. I guess I am a lover of modular systems lol. Thanks for bringing more attention to this great company. 👍

the n72 sounds more like a real neve than the great river. i have an 8014 console and some N72 and had a great river. also, geoff tanner, former neve engineer, said a long time ago, that seventh circle audio n72 was pretty much the only "clone" who did it right, from the ones he came across.
Been looking for a good DIY type preamp for a while now, thanks. Seems like since the chip shortage it’s harder to find ones to order from.
I really like how these look (and probably sound) for stepping up my tracking game. Thanks for sharing. Barry, you also mentioned Synergy (I am an owner of this system and really enjoying it) - have you had some experience with it personally? I have used it exclusively for live performance and have not tracked with it yet. (I have the Syn30 head and Morgan AC module currently loaded).
Please excuse a perhaps stupid question but if i get lets say 8 of these, what do i plug it in? what do i use as a A/D converter to get it into my daw. Does using a 8 channel audio interface make sense if i just dont use the interfaces pre's? or should i buy separate converter and just not use an interface at all?
Killer price too though…quality costs though…although it would be very nice to have I’ll be staying with my very neutral RME interfaces and do the colouring in the box or through my 1972 Allen and Heath Mod 3 mixing desk which has 16 Carnhill/Marinair transformers in it 😇, and of course Neve UK have a 2 channel interface that they just brought out…

BAE king of the hill these days, even a modern Neve doesn’t sound the same as the vintage ones, although they are very good.

I mention in the video, it’s very hard to demo mic preamps I’m that way. The differences are subtle and with CZcams compression, it’s just can’t do any mic preamp justice. To really evaluate a mic pre it has to be compared to other preamps, otherwise very hard to tell the difference.
