Agneta recorded this while still in her 60's. But barely.
I wonder how much the ladies still trained their voices over the 37 or so years they were not performing and recording. I know that voices lose power and range, but an active profession as performer or teacher can slow it down. Case in point: Iron Maiden singer Bruce Dickinson. Not the easiest music to keep at a good level. Opera singers who keep performing, stay really, really good.

@@Cloxxki the ABBA women have recorded during the hiatus. Agnetha released solo albums in 1983, 1985, 1987, 2004 and 2013. Frida released solo albums in 1982, 1984, 1996 and last released a track in 2018 with Arturo Sandoval so they have been around sporadically. This beautiful song “I Still Have Faith In You” is like the four of them just decided that they were going to completely open their entire hearts and souls and tell us all how powerful their bonds turned out to be even after the amount of history, pain, joy, tears, laughter, success, failure, and the recognition that in the end no matter what, there is LOVE that will always bind them together. ❤️

A new Abba song after all these years. It's just so difficult to imagine what that means. 40 years? Forty flipping years and they come back as if they'd never gone. And of course they have never gone as their music seems to be as popular now as it was in the 1970s and 1980s. Was it worth the wait? Yes yes yes of course it was. It's not Dancing Queen, or Voulez Vous, but it is a typical Abba ballad, and in my opinion it is one of their finest. It's a grower though, it is something that you need to hear a few times to understand and appreciate.

Something so rare, a beautiful moving song dealing with many things but what's really coming across to me is a song about long term relationships. I don't remember any other piece of music that deals with that. Mostly songs are about the new, and they miss the uniqueness of knowing others over a very long period of time. There is nothing like that on Earth. And it's a source of strength and beauty. ABBA are back and are are more meaningful than ever before.

Both tracks are amazing and so beautiful. I am blown away at the production on both songs and of course those absolutely perfect harmonies of Frida and Agnetha. I am so taken aback by how personal and honest both songs are. As a lover of electronic synthpop music I cannot get enough of “Don’t Shut Me Down”. The synths and the strings are so clean and crisp and the propulsive beat perfectly balanced with the rest of the instrumental and vocal elements to create pop perfection. I’ve been listening to it over and over with headphones and I can’t stop dancing around my living room like a crazed person with this smile on my face that I can’t stop. I think any serious ABBA fan like myself has to feel like this is a gift we never thought in our wildest dreams we would get. And, there is still more to come with the release of a FULL ALBUM! I love when you hear something for the first time and react to it, and sometimes speak your mind while listening. That gives a sense of realness in what you do. I appreciate that a lot. ABBA's come-back song is something that grows in you the more you listen to it. When I first heard it, I was not sure if I was going to like it. But when I heard it for the second time, I realized the magic of ABBA got me once more. Sometimes, while driving or doing my daily routine, I found myself humming to this epic chorus. That's my experience with this song. It's slow, smooth, and lets you go and find some old memories from better times in life. You did a great job in this video. Thank you for the content. They were almost as big as The Beatles. They were swarmed by fans in the 70s as if they were The Beatles! Their sound was so authentic, so joyful, and they wrote it all and produced it! Then there are those gorgeous voices! It's hard to convey the monumental effect they had on the music industry and their fans. They had 28 hits and 9 #1s and sold half-a-billion albums! And almost all of their music stands up today. No auto-tune, no attitude, just pure talent, and love! How are they in their 70s?! We're next! What is our legacy!?

Think this just smoothly fits into where they left off in their history. They were making more adult stuff with tracks like one of us, day before you came and the winner takes it all. making it into the top ten and top twenty was great as charts now ruled by streaming dance artists. really liked this and didn't expect it would hit the mark

They’re Abba what do you want, why have the everyday mundane? why not embrace who they are and enjoy their fabulous music. Do not compare Abba to anyone, no one is up to their creativity’s. They are creating a whole new sort of concert, wether you like it or not with the COVID this type of concert is coming on a everyday basis…..good for them and I know if Agnetha and Freida were reading this….they would probably agree. Time to adjust to what’s changing, don’t you agree? That’s fine if you don’t, we all have our own opinion and this is mine for now unless anyone can convince me otherwise 🤷🏻‍♀️.

I agree I think it is theatrical. It could be something out of the Greatest Showman.
I wasn't impressed at first. Infact I was disappointed. But after hearing it a few times it has really grown on me.

HI K&O, IF YOU CAN SEE THEVIDEO WITH THE LYRICS, IT WILL GIVE MUCH MORE MEANING AND EMOTION TO THIS AMAZING OPENING COMEBACK SONG.
THEY ARE DEFINETLY BACK. THE LYRICS WERE SO PROFOUND AND THE GIRLS VOICES WERE GREAT WITH A BIT MORE MATURITY.
    GREAT REACTION

Try with the music Knowing Me, Knowing You the harmony of the voices and the band also are fabulous.

This one song makes garbage of 99% of the “music” we’ve had to endure for decades. Same with Don’t Shut Me Down. This sick world is made that much better with the (even temporary) return of ABBA

Yeah- Who would have thought this! I was totally surprised when I heard that ABBA Made un album again after 39 years. Ubelievebel!I was a little bit diappointeted when I first heard this song. Though Frida sings beautifuly as she ever had done, but the songs harmonies are sometimes very simple, not abbaesque as I used to. On the other hand its a bit like musical stuff. The more I will hear it the more I will like it, I think. Anyway: thank you for the music.
