It would be a treat, if you two could just shut the f##k up while the song is actually playing!
Finally. Some musicians reacting. The minor-key transition touches the heart. It shows on your faces.
Question for the Younger Generation (and I'm NOT being patronising): WHERE is the music like THIS today, with THIS level of electric excitement? Yeah, I know that (eg) Ed Sheeran is good - but to _these_ Baby Boomer ears, he's rather closer to Des O'Connor than Peter Green!
Fellow Gen-Xer here to tell you that All Them Witches out of Nashville definitely answers your question. Their guitar player Ben McLeod is really really good.
From the sixties and seventies, a time when music was art, musicians really were musicians (Monkees excepted) and singers had to be able to sing (no autotune etc).
Song composed by Giorgio Moroder for Top Gun! A Genius.. 3 Oscar and 4 Golden globe
It's amazing how much you get into the music...you both look so bored
Pat Bentar's version is alot better. I can understand the lyrics better and i love how she tells the story. I watched the movie wuthering heights whenever it come on tv and my husband doesn't understand the story
I much prefer Pat Benatar's version of this song as her voice sounds so pretty, pure, and pleasant to the ear. I don't like the shrillness of Kate Bush's voice.
Always loved this cover. Haunting and poweful.
This was one of the last - if not the last - Abba recorded. It's said by those present that the studio was uncomfortably quiet. It mirrored the general mood among the four at the time. It also of course leaned heavily the Scandinavian sense of melancholy.
I greatly prefer Pat Benatar's version. I like a lot of Kate Bush, but I find her rendition of Wuthering Heights insufferably shrill and annoying, so much that I truly cannot bear to listen to it. Pat Benatar's version is beautiful, and near operatic. Kate's version comes off like a squeaky weirdo. Sorry.
Both artist are amazing, Kate of course the original and she wrote and produced it in 1978, but. Pat, of course shes my fav singer ever!!! She just added the Rock!! Version, with her amazing band of course amazing Neil Geraldo amazing guitarist!!â€â€â€
Amazing song.. Brilliant Queen
absolutely fantastic..they dont play music like this anymore peter greens rip!
Born in Manchester, lived in Dunfermline....was the guitarist in the Skids....and song writer
New wave? No one sound's like them. Brilliant musicians and greatest live band ever. Listen to the 1st album. One of the most original and best of all time
Please review Rush Working Man live in Cleveland. Enjoy the ride.
It's called a wammie bar. â€â€ check out Stevie Ray Vaughan live at El Macambo Texas Flood. Mind Blower. â€â€Check out my brother Other Mind Blower song live at the Festival 3rd Stone from the Sun. Nobody plays t b at Hendrix song but Sevie Ray. â€â€ The WaWa Petals Stevie Uses belonged to Jimi. Jimi gave him 2 and after Jimi died his Dad gave eveything of Jimi's to Stevie Ray. â€â€ He carried 3 things in his wallet his drivers licence a pic of Jimi and a Autograh from Jimi. Thats all he ever carried in his wallet. His money he carried in his pocket. â€â€â€â€ He loved Jimi. â€â€â€â€
Not even close.
That wasn't CGI. It was old style cel animation.
'The Green Manalishi With a Two Pronged Crown' is Peter's rage against the dollar controlling the music industry.
I first heard this song when Crimes of Passion first came out. I was 15 and babysitting for my older sister (she's 8 years older than me). I was listening to her records and I noticed that one of the songs on Crimes of Passion was a song called Wuthering Heights. I had just read the book by Emily Bronte and was haunted by the story (beautifully written book that reads like a long poem). I'd not heard Kate Bush's original version. I loved this version and felt it captured the haunting emotion of Bronte's classic gothic novel. I've since heard Kate's original version and like it too. She wrote it at age 18 within a few hours! Very emotive and theatrical but I consider it more performance art than radio friendly. Prefer Pat's rockier sound and equally haunting vocals which introduced the song to a wider audience.

EPIC!!!
He will always be the best â€â€â€â€
Queen are famous for all their live shows i.e. Live Aid 1985 said to be the best live rock performance ever. i like the video for this song also as it showcases Brian. Brian sang on his tribute song to Freddie called Only the Good Die Young. Very moving and sung beautifully. Full of emotion.
Love this song, first remember hearing it as it was performed at the Freddie Mercury tribute when I was just 8 years old. Performed by Ian Hunter, lead singer of Mott the Hoople, David Bowie who wrote it which I didnât know til later, with Mick Ronson on guitar along with Brian, Roger & John, with Joe & Phil from Def Leppard on backing vocals. Such a brilliant song
Pretty poor interpretation of the masterpiece
Hot Tracks remix is epic!-- this song is the masterpiece on the LP.....
What a song!!!
The accompanying video is great, I thought you would be reviewing that version.
These cats want to dance, like Me.
Drug song in the '70's.
Awesome sauce
Super troper next â€đ
Listen to Soldiersâ€
I actually first heard this sung by Benatar and had no it was a cover. I loved it and I love it still. I also prefer it, but can't say one of the versions is better than the other as they're so different. I like them both and understand what Kate Bush was trying to do with the song. Benatar manages to capture some of the eeriness with her voice (in spots) and the band also captures the eeriness with some of the instrumentation. Benatar's voice adds such a depth though. I can tell so much work had to go into making their arrangement of this song.
In his acid induced psychosis, Peter Green had a hard time accepting that he was making a fair amount of money. At one point he wanted yo give it all away. The Green Manalishi in this song is money, the love of money that tries to rule peopleâs lives and his struggles with it. This song is so dark for a reason.
Just to say that when I was still 16, 17 in the July, in 1970 when I saw Fleetwood Mac at the Redcar Jazz Club, probably on the last tour before Peter Green left the group. Older friends of mine had seen them there a couple of times and said how good they were, and I had also read that their albums never matched their live performances. Anyway I have to say they gave an amazing performance and became the benchmark by how I judged future acts. The Green Manalishi hadnât been released at that time, but I did hear it being played on a sound system behind the bar, and suspected it was them; hard to distinguish with all the noise of people talking etc before they came on stage. I was so disappointed when Peter Green left as they seemed to be getting better and better. I count myself very lucky to have been able to see them at that stage. RIP Peter & Danny.
Why can't you shut up and listen? Comment afterwards.
The "video" promo they made is funkin GOLD!
The brilliant thing about this TOTP performance (and I saw it at the time) was Bob ripping up the picture of John Travolta who had previously occupied the number one spot with You're the Oner That I want from the film Grease.
Have a listen to Peter green splinter group one cool guy my farther gave me a 7 inch single when I was younger had albatross on A side B side was I need your love so bad I was born in 1960
Ok, this is beyond these boys.
This is his decent into madness.
Peter Green was a genuine artist. Admired by Clapton et al early days. He was also very shy. I think he was used by the business in a nefarious way. All the tradgedy with band members from this era involves drugs. The only access to drugs was thro France or the USA. What are drugs without users. The young guitar based music world was crawling with pushers and groupies who were both paid at after show parties to get the bands high. Why? Well youâre more easily manipulated. And pushed around to perform and to lose track of your finances and genuine friends. Surrounded by yes men and women you are a pawn. Us kids were the kids of the war era wanting to escape the horror wanting peace. But the underworld evil was still around.
Do some live vids please. And NOT THE STEVIE NICKS LOT
In the Skies is a nice Peter Green song too.
Peter was incredible he was loved and lauded by his peers and us young fans. Full of feeling. Imagination. The industry damaged him I think on purpose. My young boyfriend called me his Green Manalishi because I thought until now I wore green jeans but looking at the lyrics well we were very obsessed by each other!
Bad assđ
Bowie sings on chorus anyone knowing his voice can pick it out
