I am rewatching my watch of you rewatching your reaction to a show I have rewatched 20+ times. SANE BEHAVIOR.
My favorite part of this episode is that Daniel was finally given the dark gift he begged for that night in San Francisco in 1973. Lestat’s voice breaking when he asks Louie if he tried to hurt himself will always make me tear up. An incredible finale to a stellar season. I still love Armand, even though he’s definitely a villain. He’s a complicated vampire. Next season we get Lestat front and center and I cannot wait!
Armand is the poorest little meow meow and I adore him.
I'm glad I got to watch these after I slept. I would have probably been too out of it in my sleep deprived state to enjoy them properly.
I've lost track of how many times I've watched the Louis/Lestat reunion. It wrecks me every time. Such incredible work from these two!

Daniel and Armand's story is absolutely INSANE. It's a fan favorite, and cast favorite (Jacob Anderson has said that their chapter in the books is probably his favorite one), for a reason. Very excited for what they do with them.
I honestly didn't notice when I watched it, but the color. His clothes, the artwork. He's brought color into his life now that Armand is gone. Bold, strong color. Also, please react to The Vampire Lestat teaser. It's glorious.
Armand has always been a chaos gremlin, but you can still despise his choice while also empathizing with his own feelings. Edit to add: I highly DOUBT "Armand turned Daniel out of spite." More likely he did it out of desperation so he wouldnt have to be alone. Armand made it clear in the show that he had NEVER turned another, and that the very idea disgusted him. So, there has to be some reason why he turned Daniel other than spite. That excuse just aint excusing.
daniel in that moment was like “i’m already dying, at least let me set him (louis) free before i go.” king shit .. AN ABSOLUTE KING!! 👑
these are vampires. so no one is truly innocent, they all did horrible things. but we love them.

The absolute dread and anxiety that went through my entire body when Daniel looked at his computer and saw Raglan James’ messages “Daniel Molloy. GET OUT OF THERE. GET OUT OF THERE NOW.” I love Daniel, he’s one of my favorite characters and I really cared and was really worried about what was going to happen to him at the end of this season. I screamed when they revealed he had been turned into a Vampire.
In terms of Armand and Daniel there are multiple pdfs of their chapter in Queen Of The Damned floating around on the internet, supposedly 😉
I don’t recommend reading it unless you want to be MORE feral about them 😅

Armand and Daniel IS a thing in the books. I don't know what the show has in store for them. Rolin said, "Do not worry, there will be something totally screwed up between those two coming forward", and I'm like👀 Armandaniel is my favorite ship, along with Loustat. I don't know how I'm gonna survive season 3.
Why did I just suddenly remember in season one ep 7 when Louis call Armand the love of his life!

oh yeah the vampire as queerness metaphor is really apparent in s1e3.
especially the convo they have thats like
"maybe im just pondering what i am"
"for the infinitesimal time, you're a vampire"
"can you not say the word in my place of business"
and how by starving himself of human blood, and only illicitly drinking rat blood in the back of their house, he was literally too weak to fuck
and then their argument at the middle:
"i watched you drain two rats and pull over for a dog in alley. this is not a life"
"thats cause you took my life"
and then the end. imagine if your deeply closeted partner got so mad, they bashed ted cruz to death with a butt plug and displayed his body on the disneyworld gates. lestat was definitely tone deaf when he said they should make it their anniversary but ngl i kinda get where hes coming from 😂
I like to believe that Lestat tells him he loves him and Louis says it back. But they have their closure that they needed.
On top of the never-ending penance that Louis has put himself in, there's also a level that I think he's convinced himself that he's made the right relationship choice that bolsters his continued decision to stay with Armand and not go to Lestat. He wouldn't have assumed that it was Armand that was the one that saved him if he didn't have a better opinion of Armand than Lestat at the time. Which is why the play reveal dismantles everything and why Louis is scrambling almost as much as Armand is to keep their house of cards together and not let Daniel continue his questions. Lestat saving him at the trial is so disconnected from the completely villainous version of Lestat that he's built up as defense to hold on to his anger, and dismantling that one piece of it lets him let go of the rest and allows him to leave the coffin apartment and move forward with his grief openly.
On a completely different note, Louis is getting psychic death threats from the vampire group chat for exposing all of vampire kind to the humans. MEANWHILE newly vamped best friend Daniel Molloy is being interviewed on television news going "Once again to repeat myself vampires are totally real they've been real for centuries you can read all about in my bestselling novel I've written that absolutely RULES. You can suck my undead dick I'm a millionaire I feel amazing and I get to be insufferable FOREVERRRR." Also there's absolutely no way Armand took the one iron clad code he held for 500 years of never making a fledgling and broke it just out of spite, but the version where that is what happened sounds absolutely hilarious.

Great Reaction/Review! Something to think about - Armand said he preserved Louis happiness. Daniel made Louis happy. Maybe his turning Daniel wasn't fully out of spite. Perhaps it was as apology gift to Louis. Perhaps it's because Armand finally found someone in Daniel who could best him & hold his own against him. And by being his maker - he would always have someone he couldn't read and would therefore be a match for his own mind. Or perhaps Daniel wanted the gift. We'll see in season three perhaps.
In the books, Daniel is young/ younger when he's turned by Armand. Rolin Jones set us up for a potentially interesting twist for maintaining continuity. Young Daniel was bitten by both Louis & Armand. As older Daniel becomes more powerful as a vampire- he could also grow younger - back to the age when he was fist bitten. So by the end of the series, Daniel could look like he did during the first interview and be a continuity match for the book & his relationship with Armand. Let's face it, both actors who play Daniel are phenomenal, but I can't really picture older Daniel putting up with Armand's crap.

my favorite ships are rarely canon either or they are briefly but don't last 💀 marius/lestat being one of my favs in this fandom. i think there's like... maybe three other people out there who ship it lol. and then the ships that /are/ canon and most beloved i don't like 😂 louis/lestat being an exception though, i love them.

When i first watched this ep i thought maybe what Louis says to Lestat would be aired in S03 only to find that it wasn't recorded nor part of the script they themselves didn't even talk about it before or after they shot the scene, it's just beautiful.
The devils minion (Daniel and Armand) is def one of the things I'm most excited to see in S03 and how they approach it but I most definitely don't think Daniel was turned out of spite as Louis says mostly because we've heard Armand's reasons for not wanting to turn people, Daniel is his first fledgling I just don't think he would break all his reasons just because of spite.
I'm excited to see your reaction of the behind the scene -- this show is such a gift. I love that we know that season 3 has been greenlit. The entire creative team, esp. the actors did a phenomenal job. I hope they enjoy their much earned break.

Yeah, Lestat and Louis are very much on and off throughout the book series. So don't expect them to be endgame immediately or even SOON within the show... Like I think book readers have told me that they officially and permanently get back together in like book 12... THAT is when they are endgame ... And potentially they're only permanently together because Anne Rice passed away... A lot of people within this fandom understand that vampire relationships are very often on and off... the on stage can last decades. But just solely based on how LONG vampires can potentially live their relationships are tumultuous and ever-changing and endgame isn't necessarily a concept that exists. But yeah at the end of the book series Louis and Lestat at are together so it's kind of as endgame as they're going to get.... Also in regards to Armand and Daniel's relationship the last thing in the book series that we hear is that Armand is WANTING to rekindle his relationship with Daniel... I don't think that we know how that goes. Or if Daniel also is wanting to rekindle the relationship that they have with each other...because they were also on and off throughout the years.
So yeah just be prepared for the fact that Louis and Lestat are going to take a very very long time, even within the show, to like permanently get back together and stay together. The on and off of their relationship isn't something that is going to necessarily be put into the show for dramas sake like it would be in a show that does not have source material. Where they just have a couple get together and break up solely for the drama... Within this show it's going to be something that happens even within the source material that they are on and off. But I mean if we get enough seasons of the show we are eventually going to get to that end game state, just like the books do. I really really really really hope that the show gets enough seasons to be able to do that.
But yeah I was really glad that the end of this season doesn't have Louis and Lestat necessarily getting back together. As much as I would have LOVED a kiss in that reunion scene I understand why they didn't and I'm okay with the reason why they didn't have one.
What Armand did was evil. Self preserving evil.

He started a longterm relationship with someone who he thought loved him out of spite. Intentionally. Disgusting.
All of these vampires are capable of great cruelty, massive mistakes and straight up dumbassery. They’re very complicated and that’s why we love them.

Armand willingly went into that relationship and twisted Louis memories so I don't feel bad for him a bit
Armand killed Louis' child! He killed Claudia! And I'm not even including letting Louis get buried alive for weeks, orchestrating a public trial for his death, torturing Claudia, Madelaine and louis before the trial, the lying and the gaslighting for years. Louis punishment is nothing compared to what Armand put him through.

I'm not telling that you have to have any pity for Armand. I'm only telling that Louis is not a victim. They are both in this together and willingly so. Louis asked for his memories about suicide attempt to be erased. What does it tell us? That he wanted to forget that he is not happy. He wanted to forget his "love of his life" was fake from the beginning. He wanted to forget HE faked it. Armand did not ask him to come and rescue him from the "evil coven". He asked him to leave Paris and never come back. Louis contacted him. Louis proposed to stay together. Armand agreed. Armand is not a victim also. Noone is. They deserve each other)
I always asked myself, why would Armand stay with Louis more than 70 years. Because in the past he wanted Louis to dy with
Claudia. Armand never loved Louis. But then i remember, Armand already did it in the past, when he took Nicki hostage to
get Lestat. He always wanted Lestat. So he did it again with Louis hoping, that Lestat come .But Lestat always rejected him.
That is my opinion. Armand is obsessed with Lestat.
