Please post a video to smelt your own aluminum from ore, I'm not wasting 50 cents on a can of soda.
Aluminum ore is called "bauxite". Feel free to look up how to do that (hint: it ain't cheap)
Ray Truant i mean if you have access to smelting aluminium which isn’t happening with just some high heat, it needs electrolysis to get impurities out.
Codys Lab has you covered
Correct line was: I ain't paying no 50¢ for no Coke
Must be a KLR owner
Watching the homemade convex mirror at the beginning, I thought maybe this was an April 1st video. Seriously, a lot of work for a really poor mirror.
Garth Howe yep, to save the 2$ of such a mirror on eBay...
Yeah that was such a stretch lol
He literally said all this
I personally use a inox polished spoon. Very usefull
@@tiloalo $2*, Remedial Tito. And it's not $2 it's $6.
That idea with the kickstand is awesome! Hopefully can avoid having to carry a breaker bar on my long trips.
Yes has
@@MrSmurfBurger No was
.... but euuuuhh neeeeeuuuuuhhh
I'm so dead xD love it, never change RF9
Ha! We all listen to the Queen's "Heppih Chrssmss" message (with no vowels in "Christmas") every year at this time. We can't help talking this way until New Year's. Euuuuhh neeeuuuuhhh!! 😜
Came here to say this.
EEEER NUUUUUUU!!! D=
Scrolled onto your comment the second he said it aha
what do you mean with rf9?
Every time I watch one of these videos I always think this young mans grandmother brags to her girlfriends about how clever her grandson is, and pulls up his videos.
I come for the smartass comments you make in between each idea 😂
GsxrGrl21 make that two people.
There are plenty

Im the opposite, come for the tips and not the old fashioned done before trash comments
The key holder thing is a good idea, except I'm pretty sure pencil lead has other stuff like clay and silica as fillers, but graphite powder meant for locks is pretty cheap at any hardware store. Also omit the spray adhesive if you ask me, if any of it got transferred onto the key and into the lock it would be not be good.
Agreed but I think the idea is some people will have pencil lead and can use it for other things and agreed with the glue I would say melt the end of the straw
Maybe graphite powder may be ok on wafer locks but i still wouldn’t recommend it cause it gums up the lock pretty badly over time.
And dont use WD40 either!
Use some form of ptfe lube and or go with TriFlow or Houdini
Use toothpaste to polish up the soda can, it's a mild abrasive so works like brasso on soft metal like aluminium. Can make it so reflective you can make it light things .
Old jewelers trick right here. Makes excellent abrasive compound in a pinch
works great on teeth too!
@@ajsiemers Never!
congrats for 200k subs
Your awesome thanks for the honest and informative reviews. Always really in depth but with good flow
The lighting's gotten better!
How exactly does a straw prevent the key from breaking when it is sat upon?
C Ney just what I was wondering
Use a metal straw.
Love your content! but please do not put graphite and dry glue in your lock! at some point it will make the pins in the cylinder stiff. cylinder maintenance spray is available from the locksmith for little money. with that a 10 year old cylinder / lock works like new again
At 3:45, I use the same vinyl tubing except I use a heat gun to melt the end and then use pliers to seal the end till the vinyl cools. It keeps dirt out of the key sheath as well. I use this on my GiVi key so that I don't get the usual wear around my upper fork clamp.
I enjoy your channel. It must be hard to come up with new content every week during the long winter months. Maybe you could get a classic bike and restore it / customize it to your taste. Plenty of learning, and some drama there for you and your viewers, Ryan.
"But, oh no." ^^^,
That hack with the eyeglass channel helped me a lot!
Due to my eyesight i am forced to wear glasses while riding and it always is a pain in the ass to get them in the helmet😂
You can get helmets with channels built into the padding, though. Or glasses that have arms close to your head so they stay snug.
I use both, though my glasses cost more than all but the most expensive helmets because my eyesight is so bad.
the more I watch your videos, the more thankful I am that you did them.
You're so corny, I love it! I love this channel, quality content and quality cinematography!
Happy New Years to all you guys at FortNine! Much love from the east coast
Key Lubricator idea is brilliant. Great work.
One day, and it may be eons from now, I'm going to be in an "Oh Noooo!" situation, and an image of you will pop intro my head and I will be able to save myself from otherwise certain death. Thanks.
2ndchildhood Fuck... now that’s gonna be in my mind now
Thanks again Ryan....happy new year!!!
Regardless of whether others say about the videos downgrading, keep it up. It's hard sometimes to find or come up with the best or brightest new ideas or hacks as often as a person wants to upload to utube. The eyeglass channel, lol never crossed my mind as i just got a new modular helmet w/out a channel. Thanks even if it wasn't your hack.
Great little hacks especially the mirror one, really handy. I love the way you say "Oh Noooo" hahaa great stuff =P
I remember when i subscribe was only 8,000 subscribers you doing a awesome job keep up the good work.
I honestly Hope this Channel gets to 1kk subs as soon as possible. Ryan is just too smart
Don't stop making vids Fortnine. Love em! =D
Hey, now I know I can use my kickstand to break the bead, lol. Guess it's not something I've had to encounter yet. Although it definitely woulf have come in handy at some point.
Congrats in 200k and keep up the good work!
Happy new year mate, hope too see more of you in 2018
That's a great cover for keeping the key! But still a little confused about how to deal with pencil refills?
very interesting little hacks, appreciate it! can you make a video on how to attach an action camera to your helmet/motorbike? i own 2 action camera but i got no idea how to do it in a safe way. keep it up and congrats for 200k, strongly deserve it!
I ran out of current F9 vids. Now I’m here.
Thanks F9 boys!
another great vid ! happy new year
Such a cool channel. I learn a little and laugh a lot!
I really liked this video! tkssss
lol the geology samples part got me. all too true as well.
Hey Ryan
Question regarding Sprocket. I have 2013 CB500X with factory 15 tooth sprocket but wanting to change to 16 tooth.
I know the few advantages but any disadvantages i may run into.
Please advise.
Thank you
KEY LUBE hey man, just to let you know, new Honda motorcycles with the laser cut key will not be covered on warranty if you lubricate the lock at all
Hey Ryan, big fan of the reviews. I was wondering if you could review some of Honda's dual sport bikes, specifically the 250 Rally. I am 16 and wondering what a good starter bike would be for offroading/minimal touring
Adam Spitzer good idea.. Im considering to buy CB500XA.. love to have RYAN's opinions on that one.
Sir Ryan Great Videos, do you have one about these airbags, otherwise could you make one?
Just discovered fortnine and I've subscribed, brilliant just brilliant. London UK
Thanks for the humor.... those glasses 😂
Don't think I'll ever use these until I screw myself and I need it. Then I hope I have battery and remember this video. Thanks F9! Happy New year! Can't wait for more bike reviews!
Hi , first of all, I do like your videos. I have just watched this one and I am not so sure about graphite lubricant. Maybe someone has already noted this, but in case no - I mean that graphite is a very good conducting material and I do not think it is worth to use it in an multistep switch, because it is dry particles can get all around and clogged some places and shorten some contacts.
Usually for such application is used silicone lubricant.
I love your videos, I am a female cruser rider; it may be silly to suggest; but if you have any lady friends to demonstrate some good riding gear to buy; it would be a huge help for me! Most retailers dont carry much women's motorcycle gear; and when I am online, I have no idea what to buy to stay safe out there.
YAY i love your videos here in the USA!
I cant remember if I heard it here or on another channel, but you can sand graphite off a normal pencil and into the lock of the cycle so when you put in your key it lubes up both the key and lock.
most front and rear axle's are hollow and longer than the kick stand so they would make a much better lengthening bar....
not to mention much easier since its already laying on the ground next to your wheel!
Video request: tips for a long trip (3k miles). My husband and I are riding to Slocan, BC from LA and back this summer!
Your so funny man.... I'm watching 2 to 3 years old videos back again 😂😁
The key guard is brilliant. Thank you.
Where do you put the key protector while you are riding? Or do I really want to know...
Keep it up dude!
Side stand as a bead breaker??? Dayum! I wish I know that one when I put on my new shinkos last week!
ONE OF THE GREATEST TIPS
IN THE WORRRRRRRRRLD JC TOP GEAR ⚙️
hey FortNine, could you do a review of an older bike, such as a gen 1 VMAX...?
Hey bro i need a answer i overfilled my bike engine with engine oil while i set my bike on paddock and i checked the bike i found the small window from where we can see the engine oil level is completly flooded with overfilled engine oil..
What should i do? should i drain it or should i kept the extra oil? and is it harmful for the engine and how it will effect the engine and performance of the bike I'm briding a HONDA CBR250R.
Thank You
Thanks for filming Ryan. The time you was away on CZcams was terrible.
How do you take the rear wheel off if you don't have a center-stand?
Thank you!
Finally a new one
Hey Ryan, if I dont have my main stand, and I remove my side stand to break a bead. How the hell is the bike supposed to stay upright through all of this?
Dude, do you age ? I am watching you for 5 years and you have not budged... are you an alien who likes motorcycles ?
Not sure if april 1st or not...
*This!*
FortNine: Just noticed the DRZ400 you have, thought i ended up with what i believe to be the safer DR650.
Just curious if you have ridden a DR650 or say KLR650 and what you think of them?
Hey Ryan (or any one else)
do you have a video about motorcycle muffs (hippo hands..i think they have many names)
its brutally cold where i live and I heard that they may work.
Cool vid, Keep it up!
I've been using Tucano Urbano muffs for the last couple of (British) winters. They look crap, like you've strapped oven gloves to your bars, but damn they're effective. Waterproof and windproof, and I've ridden in downpours and close to freezing.
Hey Ryan i am a new subscriber and enjoy your channel and find it knowledgeable and entertaining. I would like to ask youre opinion about bike like the Ducati Hypermotard. I know this isn't the typical bike and demographic that you usually talk about but i would like to hear what you have to say on the matter. Is it possible make them a 30/70 gravel road and highway respectively if you have an adjustable fork to soften suspension. The geometry looks relative to a dirt bike...Thank you all the best and ride safe
Take the kickstand off on the fly? How do you put the spring back on in the field?
Barry
The glasses thing was genious!
Ryan I love your stuff but I have to say that’s a lot of work for a mirror you can get at any auto parts store for a couple bucks...I appreciate your vids though brother! (You’ve other videos have really given me a lot to think about for a trip my brothers and I are taking this summer from San Fran to Seattle)
Happy New Year's
0:55 min The white and blue sign in the background says "I love Bavaria". Dad's garage, right? I love it!
The mirror? Never missed it ;-)
You’ve been binging on McGyver episodes again!
Good shit dude
the glasses DIY man, so helpful
Good day to all.
May I suggest Houdini for ignition lubricant. After cleaning the tumbler with electrical contract spray, use Houdini spray to lubricate any tumbler.
I’ve used this product to cure warning lights on old BMW and Mercedes ignitions and employ it routinely on our motorcycles.
Houdini leaves no residual like graphite and upon investigation found Houdini is used by locksmiths everywhere.
Not the cheapest but it works.
Continued success with your F9 endeavor.
Don in Gilbert, AZ😎
How's about some giveaways since you're so well connected ;)
I'm close to Montreal (south shore) and its cool that one of my fav youtubers for motorcycles is close to my home town!
he doesnt live over there anymore...hes out of BC now
Great video
Hello Ryan from Adelaide in South Australia, I am still riding my bike, a Moto Guzzi Roamer, perhaps you should test ride this bike. Anywho, I just want to say thanks for all that you do and the information you provide to us, the viewer/Rider. May your have a Happy New Year and safe rides. Maybe one day you can travel here to OZ.....we love Canadians.... Thanks again ....
Pretty pretty good!
I thought I was on Ichiban's channel at first!
Thank you for the tips, but you look bored with Canada winter lol
Tbh the only ones I’ll ever use are the sunglasses hack and the tire removal kickstand one
Hey Ryan, been a fan. but i have notice u stopped doing equipment reviews where u subject them to horrendous torture. love those vids. hope u can make them again?
Hey Joel - planning to! ~RF9
That "dafuq iz dat?" face in the thumbnail tho.
I did the key hack and now my ignition is ruined from the glue residue which got stuck to the key mixed with the graphite dust. I'm stranded and my bike wont start and I'm stuck in the Mojave desert 100 miles from the nearest gas station and it's 115 degrees right now! I'm uploading from satelite phone but my phone is about to die... help!
Are you guys going to ever ride/review bikes in the kootenays BC? By far the best riding routes around.
I like the Helmet and Key hack.. Both needed for me
Why is there a Bavarian Flag/Shield in the background? Are you from Germany?
I'll give it a try to protect the key of my vintage Vespa 👍🏻
4th!
Happy 2018 dude!
I love the sarcasm!
heres a free hack idea for you and being from Canukistan..... Saw a hockey puck in half and bolt it to end of side stand, much better for use in sand, soft soils or super heated asphalt!
If you fit a solderless nipple on your clutch cable, tie a piece of fusewire round the screw and fix it to whatever you like, so next time it pulls off, you still have it to re-fit.
I just want to know where RyanF9 got that sweater... :P
To be honest, the little McGyver inside us will figure out what to do with spares and garbage. Only until we need something, we think about the solution.
Loved the band on the internal padding 👍even tho i don't wear glasses.
Where do you put the key guard when the key's in the bike? I use graphite powder to lubricate the starter bendix for my Reliant trike (manufacturers recommendation from 1986!) and I know that stuff's messy when it's in your pocket :P
And surely there's got to be a better way than holding your bike upright whilst you take the side-stand off to use at as an extender bar for a tyre lever?! That sounds like too much work! (Use cable ties instead! Feed them through between the beads, tighten them around the tyre _et voila_ easy removal/fitting.)
