- The bosch RH540M is a variable speed small chipping hammer.
This one has come in with a burnt out armature. This machine is from amarica so the armature had to be ordered in.

DEAN THANK YOU SO MUCH. After 7 great years of digging and drilling holes, my besty smoked out today and it broke my heart. I though she was sure to become a return fraud. looks like shell be fixy-in her instead.

Yea I don't understand why mine won't come apart so easy. I've removed the same screws you did but mine won't come apart. Is there something I'm missing? Why does yours fall apart once the screws are out?
Nevermind, took a rubber mallet to it and got it apart
Editing making it look easy. If its the motor section you mean. Take the 4 screws out, turn upside down, hold the motor tight in one hand, lift up the hammer, and hit the hammer section with a RUBBER mallet. That will separate it.
It's the bearing holding it together and they tend to get tight.
Mine smokes again right away.
