  • In Key 25 of 30 Keys to Unlock the Quran's Meaning, Dr. Shabir Ally advocates for learning basic Arabic to better understand the Quran. He says it's not necessary to master the language, but knowing it helps avoid relying solely on translations. He notes that understanding Arabic is crucial for anyone aiming to interpret the Quran, as it enhances one’s ability to engage with scholarly discussions and evaluate translations more critically. Dr. Shabir suggests using resources like the Marmaduke Pickthall translation and websites like Corpus Coranicum for grammatical analysis, alongside apps like Islam360 and Quran Explorer, to explore word usage. He says even limited Arabic knowledge can deepen one’s connection to the Quran, allowing for a direct comprehension of its messages.

    Purify your intentions this Ramadan❕
    Say, “Indeed my prayer, my sacrifice, my life, and my death are all for Allah (swt) Lord of all worlds.” (Quran 6:162) 🤍

    Be realistic brother. It is easy to memorise the verses of the Quran. However, my experience says that Arabic is one of the most difficult languages. The vast multitude of non-Arab Muslims can not learn Arabic to understand the Quran. So they have to rely on the translations whatever meaning they convey. But what is the point? The behaviour of the majority of Arabic-speaking Muslims shows that the Quran has no influence on them. Look at the reaction of the Arab world when a genocide is in progress in Gaza.

      You're right! The atheists, "nones" and even Christians and Jews are showing more compassion and contributing more food & medical care to PakiGaza than the entire arab world! And yet when the islamic terrorists turn up, they attack non-muslim countries & people around the world, even in Moscow!
      So where, exactly, is all that zakat $$$ gone to?

      What about you? Does the Qur’an have any influence on you or not?

      @@bf6724 The Arabic speakers are expected to understand better. But the Arabs have behaved as if they are deaf, dumb, and blind. The rulers are squandering their millions and billions on the Western mega stars and now on Miss Universe. The Quran's influence on me makes me understand that this is wrong and raise my voice against it.

    Why on earth would a deity use a language that is apparently not translatable into today's laguages ;ike English?
    That's some "world" religion you got there if it's not as alive & meaningful to all people in all times in all the world as it was in 800 AD.
    In fact, when was Arabic *ever* the primary language of the world like English is today?

    Why should anyone have to learn a foreign language to understand some book? That's what translations are for. Besides, does anyone speak 6th century Arabic? Does anyone understand it. And it's not just Arabic as there are multiple languages in this so called better version of the Bible full of rudimentary errors

    • @minskdhaka
      @minskdhaka Před měsícem +1

      Yes, there are plenty of people who learn to understand 7th-century Arabic. Do you not think anyone understands Latin or Ancient Greek or Ancient Hebrew either?

    • @artifexdei3671
      @artifexdei3671 Před měsícem +1

      @minskdhaka there's no need to understand ancient Latin, Greek or Hebrew. No one is expected to master proficiency in ancient languages to know what's in the scriptures. This is what translations are for using words that are understood in present day by common people. Languages change and evolve over time so what is the point of learning dead languages? Besides, your book has words from other languages too besides Arabic - Aramaic, Latin, Greek, etc. Are you expected to learn these languages too?

      If you want only to unlock more levels of meanings learn Arabic
      if not then an accurate translation is enough

    • @haz-sh1tq
      @haz-sh1tq Před měsícem

      it's just like learning Ancient Hebrew for Tanakh or Ancient Greek for the new testament

    • @artifexdei3671
      @artifexdei3671 Před měsícem

      @haz-sh1tq that's what translations are for. That's why there are people that specialize in languages so they can translate for others. That's why they exist. It's simply foolish to learn something so distant and no longer in use.
