  • Harrison Ford/Mark Hamill - Star Wars Screen Test (Early Video Footage 1976)
In the mid-1970s, director George Lucas was casting for the now-iconic film Star Wars. Harrison Ford was hired to play the part of Han Solo (as a favour to Lucas, by reading opposite actors auditioning for the role). Harrison proved so good in the readings that he was officially offered the role of Solo.

Is cool. Fun to watch how they pick people for movies.

It's funny because they don't seem that good to me but I know nothing about acting.

It might be the low res footage.. but Mark Hamill looks more like hayden christensen in this clip

Kept waiting for Luke to say “ Well you don’t have to be a dick about it!”

How did Mark get the gig after this low-energy performance? I'm glad George saw something in this that I didn't.
