The fact that he’s been making song parodies for over 40 years is incredible!

My mom was actually at the bar that fateful night when Al first performed this song. She told me that the moment he pulled out that accordion, she knew he was something special. Fun fact: Al got so addicted to rocky road ice cream while filming this video, that the AWw's were actual screams of pain from all the brain freeze he received while shoveling rocky road into his tummy. He later went to rehab where he received help for his addition from two young go-getters Ben & Jerry.
It's actually how he filmed the scenes for the BAD parody, FAT.
He who is tired of Weird Al is tired of life.

Well not my music teacher shes the one who taught us about werird al and that he is basiclly the bart baker of the 80's and yet his name is still legendary 36 years later.
+SuperGomez59 best Simpson one-liner
+Alvaro Is Awesome I'm sorry, but I disagree with your music Teacher, she shouldn't even compare Weird Al to Bart Baker, there's a big difference man. For one, most of Bart Baker's skits in his songs rely off of stereotypes of today's pop culture, which is extremely weak in its own right, Weird Al (While still doing parodies) does make original concepts based off of his OWN creations, hell, the only things similar are the lyrics really, I mean, take a look at Amish Paradise, come on... tell me that's not just a beautiful idea. Another thing, Bart Baker constantly shits out parodies of songs that become popular to profit off of it, while Weird Al started making parodies with the soul purpose of making content others could enjoy, he never realized he'd become famous from it, sure I guess the same could be said about Bart Baker, but if you make shitty parodies constantly that are aimed towards the teen demographic, eventually someone's going to start talking about it, then someone else, and then he's famous, rolling in that youtube money. Honestly, there's more to be said, but I really don't feel like explaining it any further, just watch a few of Weird Al's videos, then watch Bart's, the difference will become very clear.
I hear ya!!! I so agree.

How many noticed Dr. Demento in the video at around 1:05 - 1:15?
Silver Turtle I came here thinking it was going to be a Dr. Demento video, but this new Weird Al fellow is pretty funny too, I guess.
Calamari Chris "New" ? Weird Al has been doing parodies since the late seventies. I guess you can't help that you were born yesterday.
That's a pretty funny insult, except that I was being facetious. Weird Al got his start on Dr. Demento's radio show, and he idolized Dr. Demento. You would know this is you weren't a dimbulb, John.
And I was born in 1969, two months before we put a man on the Moon Johnny. When were you born?
Chris; I was not aware of Al's worship of Dr. Demento.
As for my 2 cents to your comment -- I liked it; it was humorous. This comes from a person who had already started their 13th trip around the sun when Neil and Buzz stood upon the rock.
That's about how old I was when Weird Al first played his break-out song "Another One Rides the Bus" on Dr. Demento's radio show. I remember Al sounded really excited to meet Dr Demento and was very grateful he got to play his song on the good Doctor's show.
Crazy to think that Al was only fresh out of college. Never underestimate the youth.
Fun fact: The ice cream in this video is actually mashed potatoes.

At 0:51 the one he bites into was supposed to be real but the real ice cream fell off so he bit the latex covered mashed potatoes.

Weird Al is timeless, all his songs just are that good.
Ahhhh yes. Memories. I was the art director on that vid. Funny, behind the scenes stuff: crew guys who helped glue those plastic utensils to the wall, also glued their fingers together with Super Glue. So, there we were in the middle of nowhere, Agua Dulce Air Park with all those dudes who had stuck together paws and no acetone... was really funny when one of them had to pee. 😂Another silly fact: to make the ice cream, we used latex paint mixed with instant, mashed potatoes.
