- Welcome back all,
In this weeks video me and the family head back up to Kings Lynn to visit Anglia Car Auctions, for their August classic car sale. These have became a ritual for us to attend as we enjoy exploring all of the classic cars over the weekends sale. The auction is free to attend and just £5 to purchase a classic catalog. One of the cars I really enjoyed looking over was the MG Maestro turbo, being one of just 505 made it was a rare opportunity. I also really enjoyed looking around the Ford Anglia 105E and reading about all of the modifications and upgrades the pervious owner had fitted.
I did have one bid on the Ford Puma as me and Lauren are looking for a cheap car for a challenge (yet to be reviled) but my £800 bid was not enough to take the Puma home with us! I was also tempted by the Volvo 940 SE as it was a clean surviver but ended up going way out of our budget.
Anglia Car Auctions next classic sale: 4th & 5th November

If that Puma is spot on underneath, that's one hell of a purchase.
Ah was the same there ma jaw hit the deck when ah seen that wee puma go for like no money
I agree, great price for just over a grand! 👌🏻
@@Mk2Mitch Aye absolutely ridiculous money man honestly
Whoever got that wee motor best be bloody well kind to it and honour the wee thing.
I’d cut ma left nut aff for a decent puma
That price was insane.
I had a black one in 1999, my first new car. I kept it for 11 years then sold it to my girlfriends brother in law. I didn’t want to sell it, but I had a company car and wasn’t using it and she nagged and nagged me to get rid of it. I gave it to her brother in law ( he’d just lost his job and company car ) and said just give me money when you have it.
Guess what, she became my ex and I never saw a penny, and even lost my private plate too.
As the old saying goes “no good deed goes unpunished”
Great stuff, Mitch. I like the way you edit your videos so the walk round and the price are together.
indeed
Thank you, I’m glad you like the format of the video 😁
Your vids are excellent Mitch.
The brief look around then the hammer price is just what we want 👍
Absolutely right. Enough information to let you know how the car looks, history etc, then straight into the auction.
No long drew out explanations.
Unlike this post.
I’m glad you enjoy the format of the videos! 😎
Enjoyed that. Not an expert but clearly an enthusiast sharing his views with us. Spot on.
Mitch, I love these classic car vids you do. . Cheers for taking the time to share with us.
Your welcome mate, plenty more classic vids to come 😁
What an absolutely captivating video! I was thoroughly immersed. As always, thank you for sharing such engaging content-please keep those fantastic videos coming our way!
Thank you! I’m glad you enjoy these videos and hope to keep providing you with the auction content 😁
Thank you mitch your coverage is as always 2nd to none.
Cheers pal, appreciate the comment and thank you for watching!
MG Maestro turbo came out of the factory like that. Good old BL.
To Ian Waghorne. Did you realise that although earlier M G 's only had a sporty IMAGE, adding the turbo was much more effective on other makes. The MG Metro went from 100mph(non turbo) , to 115mph., and THIS MG Maestro (turbo) can do 135mph!
Just found this channel and it’s absolutely amazing. Thank you for your time and effort to produce such a professional quality video ! 👍🏽
Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed the video, I’ve got plenty more to come 👍🏻
My three Fav's that you covered were the Nova GTE and Granada but the star of the tour was that stunning looking Ford Transit, the buyer of that has landed a great van.
Thanks again fella, enjoyed the walkaround as always.
Cheers!
Glad you enjoyed, I must say the transit was a lovely van 😁
I loved my rover metro 1.1s great little car that never once let me down
Love these classic car auctions. Miss seeing these cars.
Great watch very interesting well presented. I’m hooked. 👍
Thank you, I’m glad you enjoyed the video!
The white Anglia 105E at the beginning' with the RED interior, looks so vintage it's absolutely SCRUMMY
The way you film these videos is brilliant. Keep up the great work.
Thank you! I’m glad you like the format of the videos 👍🏻
06:27 That little blue fiesta looks like a gem . That period of Fords had really nice interiors, quite solid cars. Went for little, should have been about £3 k
Was a very clean fiesta!
Had a Brand new BT Escort 55 van back in the day when working for Telecom Secuity , it was luxury !! Replaced the poverty spec maestro vans .. One chap who retirted 10 yrs ago had a Austin mini van covering the south west back in the day when he started , we forget who bad vans were years ago to service guys
@ 2.25 The sunroof on the Capri is actually called Sliding Webasto sunroof, They were fitted to a lot of Fords in the 1970's
Greetings from Malta... I always wait for your videos because you give the finest honest description. Keep up your good work 😉
Thank you, I’m glad you enjoy the videos from Malta! Is it true there’s lots of classic fords out in Malta?! 😎
@@Mk2Mitch We use to have alot of old ford's here but alot have been shipped to the UK. 😢
Used to be a regular at lots of car & motorcycle auctions back in the 70s & 80s ,cannot believe the prices some stuff is fetching especially old Fords ,makes me wonder who can pay those prices I buy off Ebay now ,prices are more realistic & there is no silly auction fees . But it"s nice to see way things are going with your excellent video ?. Happy motoring ! .
Thanks Mitch, watching all your posts from Ireland, you have a great knack for this, wishing you great success for the Future👌 Fintan.
Thank you Fintan, I’m glad you enjoy the videos 😁
Once again many thanks for an excellent video. It's great how you just include a small clip with each car showing final bids. I loved the gold Cortina and that Puma I feel was super cheap.
Thank you, I’m glad you enjoy the auction clips! Puma was very cheap 😎
Really enjoyed this video, so much nostalgia, my 6 year old boy loved it too 👍👍
Glad you both enjoyed this video 😁
Great video of some real classics. Absolutely loved the Mk5 Cortina. If ever I had the time and money to do a project/show car the Mk5 would be my ideal car.

Hello mate, thank you for the kind comment I’m glad you enjoy the videos! I love a Mk3 cortina too! 👍🏻
this is a great auction video, concise and gives us the info we need; i.e. what price it went for, including fees. I will certainly watch these again.
I’m glad you enjoyed the video, thank you for watching 👍🏻
Great video, nice to see those old cars and interesting prices, cheers Yogi.
Glad you enjoyed Yogi! 👍🏻
Loved this, simplest 😎
Great video & commentary👍
Love these videos Mitch.
I had a nice Mk 3 Capri 2 litre ghia. When I bought it in 1989 it was an absolute minty motor, but after a few years I was always welding on it. Luckily, I could do it myself as it would have cost a fortune to keep on the road. I finally sold it in 1997. Cut a long story short, the oxygen regulator blew off the bottle and shot about 300 ft into the air and landed on the roof of the Capri. The cause of this explosion was that I had to stop one of the gauges leaking, and a neighbour gave me a blanking off piece that had oil in it. Oil and oxygen don't go well together.
That’s a frightening story with the gas bottle! We had a similar scare at our workplace, someone took the ramp down onto the gas bottle and the regulator snapped off! It was a rush to turn the gas off 😅
Love it Mitch fantastic video
That was an awesome video , ty very much , im looking forward to when i retire so i can buy my mid life crisis classic car , great showing all around the cars very in depth observations . Luckily im not to far from Kings Lynn so all good . Ty for sharing , luckily i know an old school mechanic to come along . Cheers mate awesome .
I’m glad you enjoyed the video, best of luck when you buy your mid life crisis classic 😁
Great video as always I agree its difficult to keep you hands in your pockets wanting to bid
Thank you! Yes very hard when you start to look around such nice motors 😎
Some absolute bargains there! Good video. Thanks
Glad you enjoyed the video, we love finding the bargains 😎
great video, wish i still had my first car Mk4 Cortina 2 door
What an easy watch 👍🏴
Seemed like there were some chip buys going through, that 20v coupe is a good buy
Awsome car that 220 coupe, unbelievably fast rare car, always wanted 1
I agree, not a bad buy for someone!
Loved this , simples ,
Metro looks solid. I was a mot tester in the early 90's. Cant remember one metro that I didn't punch a big hole in the foot well. Proper rot boxes
That doesn’t surprise me, I’ve seen some pretty rusty metros! 🤣
Good video mate, hope you're good. Keep em coming. ✌🏾👊🏾
Cheers mate! All well here, hope you and the family are doing well 👍🏻
The little Honda Z Coupe used to be a looker, compared to it's saloon equivalent' N600 . That was a like the Mini' but it's square front obviously led to the idea of the (old model) MINI Clubman, with It's own square front.
bloody good auction! 👍
Great video, very slick , and you picked out some really interesting cars.
Thank you!
4x4 Transit wow ,love the Nova GTE, great video again.
I’ve never seen a 4x4 transit so was good to look around! Thank you for watching 👍🏻
Superb video ,some of those went for very reasonable cash
Had a J plate nova gsi, in 2003, had a race cam, full scorpion exhaust(pre cat days)lowered 30 mm on 15 inch imolas. Had 3 in my time but that little thing was punchy 😍😍👌🏻
.....obviously not by today’s standards🙄... but power to weight ratio works out around the same🤔🤷🏻♂️🤣
Some really succulent cars there. Lovely. That ouma makes me want another one. I think everyone should drive one at lwast once. They are a hoot!
Glad you enjoyed the selection of classics in the video! 😁
Another great video Mitch we'll done mate. The Granada brought back memories carrying the plate CLA---Y. I owned a Ford Escort XR3i in Black number plate CLA183Y can be found on car history checker. Thanks again always enjoy your videos keep up the great work bud.
Thanks mate, that’s very interesting regarding the number plates! Very similar, I bet that XR3i was a great motor 👌🏻
I used to work at Perrys Ford in Edgware, I’m pretty sure your XR3i would have come from one of their North London dealers. My boss registered his demonstrator Cortina Ghia on CLA 55Y and then bought it purely for the plate. In those days DVLA weren’t flogging plates and all the good numbers were just sent out to be Cherry picked by the dealers.
@ratty383 Thank you for that info always wondered where it was from. Was a great car wish I still had it if only we knew at the time what the true value was going to be. Never mind better to have loved and lost than never loved at all.
Very well done vid, keep up the good work 👍.
Thank you! Plenty more auction videos to come 😎
Excellent
Love that Hilux .
I am looking forward to the next one 💥💥💥💥💥💥😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
Glad you enjoyed, plenty more auction content to come 👍🏻
Sorted content bro👌👌
The one that got away, that puma not many good ones left wish i would have got it.
It is the only auction that you can hear clearly what the auctioneers are saying, including the sold price, excellent staff !
I agree it’s a great auction and runs like clockwork 👌🏻
Love The Transit Then I Notice The 2Lt Pinto Too Heavy For It Must Do About Em Eh Ooft To The Gallon Needs A Diesel Conversion
Thanks again Mitch!
Your welcome pal 👍🏻
love your vids thanks .
Thank you!
I owned one of those mg turbo meastros when i was a young lad many moons ago. Wow didnt realise only 505 were produced for uk market. Wish i kept it in parents farm storage, was in superb condition at the time. £6k !! Wow 😱 Great vid mate btw 👍
Must of been a very cool motor back then 😎
great vid realy enjoyed it.
I’m glad you enjoyed the video, thank you for watching 😎
Happy memories of my own XR4i A734 LLK all white ex Ford show car which I purchased in 1986 #goodolddays
Must’ve been a wicked car! 😎
I was 26yo so it was dope! White alloys, white headlight covers and white trtim. It even had aircon, heated seats and headlamp washers. In 1991 I bought my first (of three) Cosworths...@@Mk2Mitch
Nice one Mr 😎
Great Effort Man All That Takes Time And Knowledge Brilliant For Us Fireside Viewers L.O.L.
Glad you enjoyed the video! 😎
Good selection of cars again mate! Puma was a cheap thing!! Granada was a cool old barge but loving the bubble arched Anglia 👍 Cheers
Thank you mate, I’m glad you enjoyed! I really liked that Anglia too 😍
The Crayford was also fitted with a standerd V4 engine which was prone to damaging its self due to a nylon sprocket giving out in the engine i know a few people who have replaced that engine for V6 or 2 litre pinto variants.
That’s interesting, I was unaware of this common fault. Thank you for sharing 👍🏻
The camshaft was driven by a fibre gear wheel on an aluminium centre. It would slip and throw the timing out and could damage the engine mainly because the oil pump drive was dependent on the camshaft being driven. The V6 was the same. I replaced many of them over the years@@Mk2Mitch
Great Context, like the way you show the price at the end of the car after being offered for sale.
Glad you enjoy the format of the video 👍🏻
I have a 2010 v50 R design. That V70 R was a beaut. You missed out on that Puma. Went for way too cheap. Great video mate.
Very nice! Yes the puma was cheap I should’ve kept bidding, I’m sure another will come along 👍🏻
Thanks for that Mitch, I think Puma is going to be a classic and can only go up in price.
Glad you enjoyed the video, I agree the Puma will make a great investment for someone!
Do a few bikes please
Nova cat D 10k+ I’ll tell the jokes. Great vid though dude.
14:23 its more Hammerite than vehicle now
Great video as usual, one thing tho.... Show some Triumph Stags, my dream car!
I showed a stag in my latest auction video! But I will continue to try and look for some 👍🏻
I like the mini best.
Glad you liked the minis!
There is a lot for old alfas on the road than you think, most are completely decomposed
Slightly surprised you didn't cover the Alfa GTV in gold and the Triumph TR6 - both were between 2 cars you did cover! Some great stuff in there.
Unfortunately I can’t record every car here as there were over 300 lots but I do try and get a variety of cars featured in these videos!
Thanks Mitch for another great video, I do not think the prices are falling but there were a lot of unsold cars?
Some just don’t meet the reserve. You might find they re-enter them in the next auction with a lower reserve 👍🏻
I had the same metro 1.3.. fast as fxxk
If that Gold/Orange Volvo was virtually any other base colour, it would have made way more.
I agree, colour was very marmite…!
Enjoyed your video, being an ex-pat, but would like to see more of an assortment other than Austin and Ford that you seem to prefer. How about some old Jags and the Police car looked interesting unless they were there on business? Anyway good job mate, thanks.😊
Glad you enjoyed the video! I’m always trying to improve these videos so I will try and include more variety in the future auction videos 😁
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Keep em coming mitch.. that yamaha fs1-e.. 👌
Plenty more to come mate, glad you enjoyed! 👍🏻
fs1-e ever school boys dream in the 80s ,so much better than a 38mph Honda 😂
Puma! Omg
Very cheap!
Think the v70r is about 240hp, not shore as i am a ford man too 👍
great bargain on the Cortina 1.6GL!
I agree, great price!
