Man, whatever you pay Jeriah (hope I spelled that right), he's worth every penny. That dude is constantly hustling. Good to see Jack getting in on things lately again, too. Great team work here. God bless y'all.
Yes that kid Jeriah is what we called a keeper...!!
@@setdown2don’t infantilize him, he is grown and has been working for Cody for years.
@@Grunttamer it’s a Complement…a very good one btw…good grief…
This is pretty awesome. I am the Sales Manager at Meadowlark Log Homes and I am excited to see your Project come together! Jalon is a huge fan of the channel 😉
The fact that communities used to band together and do this by hand is quite something to envisage.
Pepperidge Farms remembers when Cody was trying to build a small log cabin, milling his own timbers from trees on his own property. Then it got stolen.
I'm new-ish to this channel having only been watching now for a few months now and there is something amazing about being called beloved, just feels warm. Really enjoy your videos, please don't stop....ever.
Beloved, don't hesitate to go back to past videos. There are some gems in the archives!
@johndunbar2393 thanks, I already am doing so.
Very nice,Cody. I really enjoyed the end of the video. The tone and frequency along w/the cinematography. Were excellent.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Ah yes the ol stand on the back of the skid steer trick OSHA doesn't want you to know about
No osha at home lol
That view is insane.
Quite the process with everyone chipping in!
I think I say this for all of us here, WE NEED MORE OF MRS. PANTS!
Absolutely agree!
All precut and numbered! Its like an enormous set of IKEA furniture!
Pre fab logs. A good choice...for East coast man!
Love the music @ 6:00 mark, turned into a murder documentary and all of a sudden...the digging takes a more ominous turn!!
At least we know what happened to those untidy tradesmen!
Many an east coast man buried on Cody's land. 😂
East Coast men seal their below grade foundations. Then place foam board up against it so back fill doesn't damage sealant. It also helps to insulate. Concrete/block are not waterproof.
Yep. A thick coat of polymer mortar, followed by tar, then poly, and finally the foam board.
Yep that's the right way to do it...not real keen on the shallow footing either but...great view of Mt.Hood ya gota love that...🖖
Wow seeing the logs it's going to be a lot larger than I imagined, so cool! It must be fun to work at the place they make them...building them then taking them apart, labeling everything...pretty neat. Beautiful having the family and everyone else working together
Great to see the whole Wranglerstar family in the same video all working together again!
Best get cracking....summer goes fast and winter won't wait.
*Wranglerstar* Bravo well done, thank-you sir for taking the time to bring us along. GOD Bless.
Love the Ending shot with Mount Fuji!
Mt Fuji cracks me up.
I haven’t been following along on this project, but I will. You’re smart man. Your children will benefit from this.
A lot of skidloaders can lift more than they can balance, it is why the rear brush guards with winch frames are a popular addition.
I remember my first time operating a skid
My giant log deliveries usually end with a splash and a clogged toilet.
A mountain view that deserves a log cabin. Good work, men. Cheers.
Those logs must have taken a good few man hours to prepare! I can't wait to see the finished cabin.
So awesome. Truly inspirational. What a view!
A lovely journey you’re undertaking, thank you for bringing us along…..🇬🇧
What a great start to the cabin. Full day of activities and I can't wait to see what's next.
That skid steer was earning it's keep today by the looks of it.
wow that final shot is something, it says so much
Looks amazing.
Looking forward to this build!
You surround yourself with good men.
Nice logs. I was half expecting milled 8" logs. Respect.
Pre built, the old cody wouldn't have done it this way haha. I was hoping the timberframe cabin was finally getting built.
Bravo!
I've been a union carpenter for over 25 years. An apprentice carpenter was ordered to act as a counterweight for a forklift lifting to much weight. The load slipped off the forks causing the rear too come up then slam down. The apprentice lost his balance and fell and was crushed to death . The accident happened in San Fransisco in the late nineties. Is saving a little bit of time worth risking anybody's life?
There is a such thing as taking safety too seriously, people complaining because you don't have cut gloves on (well go get a couple stitches), those sunglasses are not z87+ rated (its still going to block the bit of dust) ect ect. But the human counterweight goes wrong so quickly and routinely kills and the people it might kill are his friends. Stupid.
Safety is important when you order your material let your supplier know what equipment you have and what the equipment rating is so that they can package the materials and quantities that you can safely lift might cost a little more but it’s cheaper than a $ funeral and having to explain to some insurance company what went wrong
Just wow!! “Are you in the safety zone?” So many things wrong with that operation. I’m not the safety police, but that was just dumb.
I see longer videos on the horizon! Love the build videos!
Looking good💯👌🏽
Gorman bros are a very well respected employer and long time family of Westbank, B.C. it put a smile on my face to see that tarp.
It's going to be an awesome spot, that's for sure
Canadian TImber! THE BEST!
Thanks!
Mrs. Pants is beautiful
I love this SERIES Cody. Very informative 😎
Great video 👍
Very good video wish had been longer excellent job
Love the human counterweight, especially when you're on the front of a tractor instead.
I've been a union carpenter for 25 years. In the mid nineties ,in San Fransisco an apprentice was ordered to be a counterweight on a forklift picking to heavy of a load . the load fell off the forks . He lost his balance fell and rear tires crushed him dead,
Bravo 👍
This one hit home.
All that property and you are building right next to a road?
Love it
Lincoln logs how fun!
Cody, Cat Counter Weight Part # 345-5147. Put 4 of them on and it will make a big difference in stability. Made a world of difference on my 287D.
All the brown recluses come charging towards that wood pile XD
I use to deliver full house packs with a skid on the back it was great you learn very quickly the rules of weight distribution and tipping load. I pushed the limits one evening and did 2 loads combined into 1 I think I did it just for myself to push the limits of what could be done let’s just say I didn’t want to work Saturday and it was a long Friday night haha very nice work Cody!!
looks like your sill plate has washers. I would suggest simpson bearing plates
Wow!
East coast guys woulda had it done in 2 hours
WS baby!!
You should setup a live stream camera on a pole, so we can watch construction progress everyday, as well as your normal videos. Just a webcam on your live stream from up on a pole!! Do it.
Right on.
For some reason I thought you would ha a few log trucks deliver whole uncut logs that you'd have to notch and cut yourself
Maybe time to add extra counter weights to the skid steer
Beautiful View to Mt. Fuji - #Mountain
I'm looking forward to this build
That Grin at 4:20... :)
Just a question. Why are you building so close to the road
Boom 💥
What kind of roof are you going to do? Would be cool if you made wood shingles with a froe the old school way.
Really hope you do a cedar roof. I think that would look awesome on a log cabin.
no, it must be ASPHALT
A word of advice….. never get between two immovable objects.
Everything is movable....😉
wow, 3.5 to unload. i bet the driver wasn't too happy with that mess.
Came here to say this. Not to mention how sketchy it all looked. I'm all for safety third, but that was amateur hour...
The driver was glad to have good help. He was paid. So, it would be better to unload a little faster and damage his trailer?
@@carlzirk would be better to have the proper equipment and not jeopardize his trailer by dragging off loads and using undersized equipment.
@@megadesertdiesel1468 they were careful, no problem.
hey Cody have you seen this LignoLoc® wooden nails would be brilliant for decking on log cabin.
I enjoy watching the building process, I try to learn something from each video I watch, but why the somber music, this is a happy time building a new home.
nice cabin ! im curious about why you have removed all the decals on your caterpillar equipment ?
❤️❤️❤️
That's amazing! Here on the East Coast, I have to cut my trees, skid them to the sawmill at the bottom of the farm, saw 2 sides oversized, hand hew them to final width, load and trailer them to the site, where I handcut the joinery, and assemble.
Need some counter weight on the track loader i think.. :)
Dagnabbit, stop throwing such good film-making in there! You're throwing off the algorithms.
Must be nice.
Would love to see a price breakdown either at the end or along the way
Always and most Amish still to this day!!
at 1:53 whoever is holding on in that pinch point will someday learn a very painful lesson. You may want to mention that to the guys..
Next time maybe you can borrow a big boy's forklift from a neighbor. 😉😆 Nice work with what you have though.
8:21 bit of a wonky joist don’t you think?
Just had a question, was a root cellar ever discussed for the cabin?
Is there a place to access livestreams or are they finished for now
Sir we need a telehandler on that site asap
I hope these are Doug fir but they look like pine
Can somebody explain why do people opt for crawl space and not for a full basement?
Especially when you have the money and it's easy digging...
Where will the crawl space be accessed from? I am enjoying this series!
he showed the hole in the floor
Good crew getting it done.
This is going to b a fun build
Is the cabin for Jack?
Yes,
I was wondering the same. Awesome you are able to do this for him.
I thought it was the WranglerStar retirement home
Must be nice to live on a trucker friendly route. I couldn’t get a rig like that to deliver to my house. No way that truck is making those turns.
I worked on spreadsheets and emails all day 😢. It's unnatural. I need to make a change. This is the kind of work men _should_ be doing.
That little machine is impressive, I figured you'd have to bring out the tractor with the forks to move all that.
Music there had me thinking a dog or something was going to get smashed, or something horrible like that lol.
