I saw some negativity on here so I just wanted to say I honestly I really loved the commentator's enthusiasm and knowledge for the game, really wish more couch people had at least half the energy she did (not to say the rest aren't great though!). Great run!

I like her and SpikedVegeta simply because of their enthusiasm and how they keep everything moving so nicely. They know the games and know what their job for the event is.
Still to this day my favorite Tetris style puzzle game.

I love this game but god I reallllly hate the pokemon cries from the regular anime
As someone who has spent close to 3k Hours on this game (And am still playing daily) it fills me with joy to finally see the game get some serious speedrunning attention.

Knowing nothing about this game, this was a great run to watch + really fun commentary.
Pokemon Puzzle League is seriously one of the most fun Puzzle games out there, and one of the most skill based, I mean, a battle between two masters could go on for 10+ minutes. And I Really like the renditions of the songs from the show. Though Lately Wario's Woods has been rising in the ranks for fun Puzzle Games for me.
I and my friend literally played each other for 60 minutes til the death!
There isn't a sequel to this game, because is fucking brutal.

This game that we watched is Pokemon puzzle league, The "sequel" one is Pokemon Puzzle Challenge for GBC, and also they were released with a 4 day frame with different developers, that can't be really be considered a sequel.

I remember having problems against Team Rocket and Tracey on SR in puzzle league, those guys could make higher combos than Mewtwo and Gary, I even remember getting a question mark from Tracey once.

Loved this game as a kid, anyone else try 3-D mode versus? Absolutely insane! They should bring this and Tetris Attack back either to switch or mobile!

I could never beat V-Hard mode in this game. S-Hard is a level of difficulty I can't even imagine.
Lurdiak took me a whole day to beat very hard .When I got to super hard it's a whole other other level that I didn't even play
I think PPL is one of those games where each higher level of skill feels unreachable until you reach it. It's always impressive to watch speedrunners but somehow a good PPL/Tetris Attack player always seems like they have especially godlike vision.
Imagine being a parent in the other room having to listen to PIKAAAA PIKAAAA PIKACH PIKAAAAAA!!

A bit old, but I love that PPL gets some Speedrun spotlight at events like these.
Granted, my fun with the game comes more from endurance in VS. (as in lasting as long as possible against the AI, since I don't have anyone nearby to play against), but knowing how to manipulate AI is pretty interesting as well has how fast and how long combos and chains can go. But, since my usual focus is on long games instead of short (especially against my usual max AI opponents), those don't often come into play.
I actually didn't really realize there was any popularity to speedrunning Marathon or Spa Service (despite how obvious that may seem), since PPL isn't really a game that has a lot of attention. But I'm still glad there are some people who do.
I would love to play against others in real time, in some fashion, though again I don't know anyone in my home state who has the game or loves it as much as I do. Hopefully other fans out there do, though!

My brother and I would play the VS mode against each other and the timer would go to 99:99 because neither of us could beat each other until I slipped up. He was too good.

I only ever played Tetris Attack, but I played it on GBC, I think it was.
To be fair to FFRPRO21 Gary is actaully pretty challenging for a first fight.
One thing I learned from this is that you need to know how the game works in order to follow anything the commentators are saying. They're going OMG and I'm like What? What?
It's weird how they hyped up Mew Two as being unbelievablely hard, and they beat it in under a minute...

Used to love this game, but always would play vs mode against the computer alone. I never realized how horrifically flawed the AI is until watching this video. I've beaten S-Hard using no continues a couple of times... But I now feel that accomplishment is diminished due to the AI. It's kind of a disappointment now.
The pain of Japanese cutscenes with English voice acting
There's no japanese version of these cutscenes. This game was only released in the west.
