In most cases now, copyrighted audio is not removed but instead transfers a proportion of the video's monetiisation over to the artist(s). It's only if the artist or record company has a blocking policy (very few do) that they actually strike the content.
Enabling music makes the game load slower.
The reason for this wasn't copyright concerns or anything like that. Granted that could've been a problem eventually. The actual reason was that the PC version of this game just sucks to get working on any modern computer. The only way we could get it working in time for the run was with no music. It's also the only way I've been to run the game at home in any sort of semi-stable capacity. This game just has random stuff not work.

I think this is actually my favourite THPS game, but they're all so fucking awesome and legendary. I think the runner up would be underground easily. Absolutely fantastic
"you need to clap for that fountain" just shows how fucking awesome tony hawks games are, pushing it to real skill. Love it. Loved both perfecting and breaking it.
So good to see somebody really enjoying the game they're playing. THPS2 was always fun back in the day.

Using "VoiceMeeter Banana" you can downmix your Windows audio out to mono in realtime (with some fiddling depending on your audio interface), so you can listen to this through headphones. I've been using it for ages for debate videos and podcasts and the like which are often also recorded in mono.
That cash over the statue in New York is indeed terrible to get around
Tip: After the 4th Bum location, jump into the sand. You'll respawn a few feet away from the
fifth one.
A plane different from ours exists in which the guy accepted the 20 USD bet and did the level without failing in the staircase and the catching the cash icon instead.

no spiderman or skater heaven?
Spiderman is an unlockable character so it's frowned upon to use him in runs. Skate Heaven takes around 5 hours to unlock so good luck seeing that at a GDQ.

Hi, are you running the game on a windows 10 PC? If so, how did you manage to get it to work? I have the old CD Version of the game, and it just won't work on my PC. Would be great if you have some tips.

GeForce 1060 6GB (Had an AMD before and the same problem)
Intel Core I5 3570K
16 GB DDR3
I recommend you check the pcgamingwiki (it's a wiki of pc game fixes) and see if any fixes listed for the game help
I actually used a Windows 7 PC for the marathon, but I use 8 at home and got it working on 10, which is what some other runners use. There's no easy fix to make the game work. I have uploaded my install of the game as a .zip which you could try. You also want to try running it in a windowed mode with something like d3d windower. Didn't realise they were playing the PC version till they said it crashed easily... The console version absolutely never crashed for me, no matter how much I played it. Obviously another bad port issue, shame
