    Mpofu, can you also try and arrange an interview with Keletso 'Bizoski' Manyike (Former SARS Employee) based on SARS Rogue unit saga. Yoh, that guy was recently dropping booms on Newsroom and I feel he has more to say.

    Thanks for the upload Sizwe, I hope that through this platform those who are so-called public enemies get to speak their side of the story. I always like to hear both sides of the story before making my conclusion and in this case, the PP should have also inquired about the NDZ camp donations, make a broader spectrum and look into the DA, EEF, FF+, IFP, etc. The president is a billionaire and I'm sure he has friends who wouldn't mind donating millions his campaign to make sure that he would win!

    On another note, I really hope that Adv. Mkhwebane is really doing her job and is not factional. It sounds like she is but the mass media is portraying the contrary.

    @11:00 *"It's a lot..."* Based on what? Is there a law in South Africa limiting campaign finance? Secondly, why are we only using evidence from the CR17 campaign as the barometer for state capture? Yes, the president is obligated to disclose, but equally should everyone else. What's good for the goose is good for the gander, issuing judgments without context will make anyone guilty.

      Hloniphani Ndlela her remedial action could have addressed this, and asked parliament to consider a clarification to its rules to address this gap. Then she would have avoided this question

    • @afrikaazanialuti
      @afrikaazanialuti Před 5 lety +1

      @@hloniphanindlela3292 - "Wena, I think you are on another planet..." Perhaps, but I'd like to be on a planet that values clarity & competence. I along with most South Africans, want strong institutions that will hold everyone to account, we also have high expectations for these institutions & mediocrity will not be accepted. The PP acquired evidence, where did that lead her? the complaint was launched on money laundering charges, what did her investigation yield towards those charges? Does she lack capacity? Why refer the matter to the NPA, which arguably is a far less impartial body..? In short her investigation has only lead to more questions than answers. Lastly, why is the PP inserting herself in spaces that are not appropriate for her office? this interview is an example of her going beyond her scope, she needs to focus on her job & leave politicians to do theirs.
      @10:30 Is she a member of parliament? to my knowledge, they are the ones who can draft campaign finance legislation & besides, politicians are there to be influenced! If you want to save the rhino, you give to "save the rhino campaign". Large companies & people with deep pockets have the same rights to give to a candidate or a political party of their choice as anyone else, the complaint was about money laundering & questions are still looming after her investigation...

    Let's not let these immoral gangsters destroy the Public Protector's office. That will be the end of our country as we know it resulting in dictatorship by low lives. Ramaphosa just proved how dirty he is, lost my respect way beyond ivosho to think I grew up looking up to him as an investor myself. Respect to this woman. Thuli Madonsela was just pleasing the white monopoly that owns Ramaphosa, 10x worse than the Guptas.

  • @TK-ys2du
    @TK-ys2du Před 5 lety +2

    But the PP is misguided. In the EFF-Nkandla matter, the ConCourt did not mean that the remedial action is binding even when there is an application for a judicial review of the reports. It only said that the remedial action is binding UNLESS set aside by a court of law, so saying only an interdict or a judgment setting it aside are the only meanings of "binding unless set aside" is her interpretation. The ConCourt did not even say "an interdict" suspends it, so that is her interpretation.
    An application is not "mere", so it should have the judicial power to suspend the remedial action. Suspending the remedial action and setting it aside are totally two different things. She is confusing setting aside and suspending. The ConCourt talked about setting aside. She should understand that when there is an application her remedial action is suspended until the application fails, then its binding nature is reinforced. There is no need for her to panic and start making wild legal commentary of what the ConCourt's ruling meant. As I type this, she is getting a slap from the ConCourt in the SARB-ABSA matter.

    • @hloniphanindlela3292
      @hloniphanindlela3292 Před 5 lety +1

      SARB nd ABSA matter is not winnable..you know Y..it happened during apartheid and those who did dat are still incharge of everything..even her knows this..not that there's no wrng doing..but ppl who r involved r the ones who controls everything.

    • @TK-ys2du
      @TK-ys2du Před 5 lety

      @@hloniphanindlela3292 I know why it is not winnable. the Chief Justice in para 104 provides the reasons why. He says it is because the PP committed errors, produced a legally flawed report, was ill advised, and showed lack of good faith. Her investigation was bad.
      But this does not mean this should be ignored or left to vanish into thin air. We don't need the PP for this to be followed up on. Her incompetence will cost this to vanish, quite frankly.

    I still don’t understand how sis’ Busi ends up investigating political party funding towards party internal campaigning, money laundering, etc, as it wasn’t done under state capacity. The initial request from Maimane was wrong and she should have not accepted it, because it’s a request which puts sis’ Busi in a corner to investigate all political leaders in all parties, if it is to be a correct and fair request

    • @bokangmokoma8157
      @bokangmokoma8157 Před 4 lety +1

      The issue was whether Cyril lied to parliament or not. To establish that it was important to find facts which is what she did, the facts ofcourse led to these personal dealings.

    • @The_Truth777
      @The_Truth777 Před 4 lety +1

      Bokang Mokoma On the 6th Nov 2018, Cyril was asked about R500k which was deposited into his son’s account by Bosasa. He first said the money had to do with a contract between Bosasa and Andile. On the 15th Nov 2018, he then corrected his statement, and told the speaker that the R500k was a campaign donation into the CR17 trust. So what lie was the PP supposed to investigate? The PP should have not fallen for the DA’s political games.
