all4radios.com Buying a Yaesu FT-101ZD or a FT-902 is tempting, prices for these vintage Amateur Radio transceivers are low.
I bought hundreds for my business over the past 20 years and know a thing or two about these. - Věda a technologie
were has this man gone i love his videos
Hello, I'm a newbee to Ham Radio and taking foundation exam in January. What a comforting and entertaining video. Really has given me the push I need to go full steam to Full license. Will be in touch for purchase. Happy New Year to you & your Family..
Amazing. I have a near perfect unused FT-one in the original box . Love your knowledge thank you.
Great video for a great radio. I have 2 of these and they are working fine. Relays cleaned and capacitors changed is all I did. Not much drift after warm up. Had a FT-902 with most accessories but had a drifting problem. Also have a FT-901 and Ft-102 that need work. Love these old radios.
For which reason do you need 2 of these?
@@klausjerwan596 I repaired the 2nd one I had and it is for sale but I am going to keep the first one as it belonged to an old sk friend. Take care my friend and have a great day
@klausjerwan596 same reason I have 6 of them, and counting:)
Just bought my second, its super clean and almost looks new but has that dent near one of the front feets.
It is still perfectly on frequency and seems to tx ok at a quick check.
Will do a deeper check later when i get my stabilock back home.
Great video
Hi Darrell,
I have the black DC converter in stock, the DC lead however is very rare. Your best chance is to get the 6 pin Jones AC lead and re-wire it for DC, good luck and thanks for watching!
thanks for a very good look at ft101zd mk3
Nice rig! Mine has an issue with the speech processor board and has a lot of instability even after an hour of work. Need to check for the service bulletins!
Excellent Upload on 101ZD'S I'm currently restoring one which is taking out the 3 Amp fuse, all heLp gladly received JOhn G4ZHG gud dx
I have a MK2 FT-101ZD with the original Yaesu tag still hanging from the leather carrying handle its a fun radio!
Hello Sir,I have a Yaesu FT-101ZD MK II that I purchased in good working order at a swap. I have ordered from ebay twice now the DC-DC Converter or so I thought. Both came only with the drive transistors and the mounting frame for the back. No other components or the wire harness with mating plug for the back of the main transceiver. Do you know of where I can get a complete unit for the DC-DC Converter. Thank you for the video.Darrell, Michigan, USA
These seem to be a bit rare as they all seem to be in your shack. :) Great video by the way.
I have a question to ask on the 101 ZD on the top left corner with the cover off I believe it's the rectifier board there is a potentiometer and a bunch capacitors should there be a certain voltage
Hi. Great videos. I see a plastic adjust screw on top of my ft901 counter. Can anybody tell me what it is for. Thanks
nice job on the videos ! I am looking for a faceplale for the Yaesu ft-101ZD . I have had no luck so far can you direct me to one thanks so much

Hi .i have a Yaesu 101zd i'll Buy it a 2 months ago..the radio transmit very Nice..But the receiver is low receiving and the volume to max for listen low audio..how is the rx board? Apreciate your help
Thankyou, excellent advice, mark australia
Hi, Just acquired ft101zd from a 100v country how do I adjust for 240v ? Any advice would be extremely helpful.
Many thanks
Can you share the link of your online store on ebay please?
Not really, the 6146W type is more robust but if tuned properly, the standard 6146B tubes last forever. Most transceivers that I have bought over the years still had the original tubes installed and they nearly always delivered full output.
Great info nice video
i am interested in buying a Yaesu ft-101zd how would I contact you about that transceiver
Hi Darrell Thanks for the video and info about buying ft101zd. I have been left two of them by my friend who is sk now. One is working the other was for parts not working! However a simple thing like a tube forced in that bent a pin over, of the non working one, and now its ok again. I am looking for two things that maybe you can help me with, as you have lots of old ft101zd lol.
No1 is a premix local unit pb-1965 complete with components. As the one in the rig has been butchered "where i guess" the crystals have been changed by someone.
No2 a cw filter. as neither rig has a cw filter in them! thanks in advance. Colin
Sorry mate, I can't help you with these parts right now. I email you as soon as something turns up.
Thanks for your quick reply ! all the best Darrell

Hi Darrell, Thanks for the video. I see that you have so much FT-101's in stock....is there any chance to buy a VFO or the PCB of the VFO for a FT-101ZD ? It would be great 😁 Thank you - Stephane.
No problem. Check out my eBay store "hifissb". The vfo is in stock.
The item number is 373761556343
@@hifissb OK, thank you for the information ! I will check. 73's.
hello my friend, I am a ft-101zd and the vfo has a drift can I install a diferente vfo? thank you
ct1drx
Changing the VFO is not for the faint of heart. When you say "drift", if you mean it drifts a few kc while achieving full warmup, that is normal for a tube type radio, especially for one this old.
ok its true
thank you very much

You mention not to pay more than 200p, i've been searching for these radios for a long time now and I can't recall seeing any under that price. I've been looking for a 902DM now and regardless of price it's hard to get one at all.
If anyone reading this has a 902DM for sale contact me. I'm happy to pay a good price. What's important is that it is original and complete with no bad damage. My intention is to do a chassis up restoration. It must be FT-902DM only.
I have ft 901dm frequency drift big time
Are you in the us? Can some one send you a radio for repair? Contact of some kind. thank You
Dear sir im truing to get a ft yaesu 747 gx please get in touche with me so we can make a deal , sorry about mi ingleis and expresion thank you

Very hard to find them, oh wait a minute
I received a Yaesu FT-902DM from my grandad that works perfectly! Here is an image of it i.imgur.com/XszXY3Og.jpg. How much would it be worth today? Thanks

Rob Bah I’d be open to it yes.
