If Larry never got hurt and Magic didn’t get HIV MJ definitely wouldn’t have six titles.
Thats too simping brun
Ain't simping if it's true bud. Jordan never beat Bird.
Kemp could play. Appreciate the respect from him for Bird.
Bird is the Word, man is the GOAT. I’m fortunate to have watched him live and these videos don’t give him justice
You are so right - that article made him mad! If they had kept that up with nasty articles every week he might have stayed playing even with his back in a cast. And won! (because he's a legend for real)
If Bird hadn't been hurt... mind blowing to think about the awesome things he could has accomplished.
During the summer before his rookie season, Bird played a casual game of softball. In one moment, his brother Mike's knuckleball struck the right index finger of Larry, who immediately dropped the ball. His finger was MESSED UP! In fact, the doctors said NOT to clear Larry Bird to play in the NBA his rookie year (the same year where he turned around the fortunes of the Boston Celtics coming off their worst year - AND the NBA who would have had to rely on Magic alone). The doctor(s) were very wrong and underestimated the legendary resiliency of Larry Joe Bird.
Find out about his early childhood, who, he says, he learned the game from. An amazing story.
He was amazing. You look up Larry bird iconic saying. It's funny story about white guys guarding him. There also was a funny one about his 60 point game where the guys on the Atlantic team talk about that game. Keep watching
#birdgang 💚🐐🍀
much love, hope life is treating you well brother!
Let’s gooooo🔥
Shawn Kemp beat my future high school in the state semifinals with ease. It was one of the best performances I saw in Indiana high school. That year had Shawn Kemp, Damon Bailey, and Glenn Robinson all in the state finals. My future high school Anderson High School was the only one not to have a future college or NBA star and Shawn dominated us.
Larry was just different. He had a competitive love of the game, and a great respect for anyone that came close to doing a good job of guarding him. Watch Larry playing a high school or college game, where he and his team win. He was even more impressive! He broke his knuckle and finger, on his right hand (also his dominant hand,) and had to have surgery on it right away. This happened a few months before training camp was supposed to start for the ‘79 Season. When the doctors and trainers, for the Celtics, got wind of how severe his injury was, and examined him, they said he was damaged goods. Red took him down to the court and had him shoot from wherever he wanted to. Every shot went in, no matter how difficult. Red told Larry, “you look fine to me, kid.” So, he would’ve been even better, but I believe that may be why he can play left handed too. He may just be ambidextrous, but I know I’ve broken my dominant hand/arm several times, and I’m ambidextrous. I’ve always been curious if it’s more often a learned condition, or congenital, because my grandmother was also ambidextrous, and I don’t believe she ever broke her arms or wrists/hands. He had to have several surgeries on that finger over the years.
Yes Bird was Ambidextrous; Infact He Eats & Writes with His Left Hand. But Playing Sports & Doing some other things He was always More Dominant with His Right Hand. Like You Said Bird Was Just A Different Kind of Player.😂
@@gailshepard-cook3257 Thank you! I never knew that. I’m left-handed with writing and eating, but I also played sports with my right hand. I think it’s because they never had good left-handed scissors, and rarely had any gloves for baseball. My right got stronger.
You need to see Courtship of Rivals. Tells all about Magic and Bird
I think he’s reacted to it
Check out Rookies, Welcome To The League moments
Check out the underdog story. @76s
Check out the 85, 86, or 87 All-Star Game. You can't goi wrong with any choice. You'll see how they played back then.
Larry has 4 brothers and a sister.
Xavier Macdaniel was very good.
I had heard about MacDaniel getting "BIRDITIS" and when I lived in Dallas Mark Aguire on the Mavs was known to catch that as well before games.
WHY are you SHOCKED Larry had a brother? Most people have a brother or a sister. . .IT'S NOT UNUSUAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yep He had 4-Brothers & 1-Sister.
Sorry I Got To Ask; Why Are You Stopping The Sounds But Not The Whole Video? I Don't Care If You Think We're Just Missing A Little, We're Missing Some Of The Chat's.
Some people just prefer to hear themselves talk/yap/whatever. They're not interested in the backstories.
