Put Lebron in Bird's era and Bird in LeBron's era and who do honestly think would do better. I'm from Cleveland and grateful to LeBron for the title he helped bring to the Cavs, but he is no Larry Bird.
I’m from Wooster Ohio & I agree with what you said
HE IS NO BIRD
Bird would eat his lunch & then make him cry! 😂
I don’t think this is even a question, you can go ask Bron , he would tell you the same !
Larry!
When he came into the NBA, he told the Celtics players, “ i’m not gonna get any water for you I’m not gonna do your laundry I’m not gonna do any of that stuff that you think rookies do. Savage from day 1
And as usual, backed it up. 29-53 in 1979, before Bird. 61-21 in 1980 w/Bird. Next year, 62 wins. Year after that, 63 wins.

A very common sentiment among these legends is "I fakking hate that guy but I have massive respect for him".
Which I think is one of the greatest compliment an athlete can give another athlete.
Actually disliking someone but still giving them their flowers is imo the highest form of recognition.
The ultimate "you cant deny his brilliance" expression.
Isaiah Thomas said if you put me, MJ, Magic and Bird in a room to fight to the death, Larry is the one walking out of the room in the end
They respected larry a lot
MJ’s team NEVER beat Bird’s team. Not one game.
"Is your mother watching?" Cold hearted.
The other guy started it by stupidly telling Bird that it was his defense that Kept Bird from scoring. You poke the bear, and you're going to get bitten.
If I had to choose a player to take a shot to save a game I'd choose Michael Jordan," Riley said. "If I had to choose a player to take a shot to save my life... I'd take Larry Bird." Pat Riley
Larry Bird was a Celtic. He dedicated his life to the Boston Celtics. As a rookie Larry put the Celtics on his back and carried them to three NBA championships.
he saved basketball and the celtics in the 80s
The Bird story I latched on to was from Kareem. If you google Kareem, you'll find one of the most AMAZING stats you'll ever see. He was the best from high school (2-3 national championships) thru college (3 national championships) and of course 6 championships in the NBA! That GOAT stats answered when asked who he thought was 2nd to him in the claim to GOAT, while the 3 people were prodding him to chose Michael or that large "boy" LeBron and they kept prodding Kareem to select one of those greats, but Kareem rolled his eyes to the heavens and said, 'Bird! Bird could do anything he wanted, at anytime! 'Birds biggest muscle was between his ears!' He wore the us (the Lakers out!)' That is some bad sh-t!!!
I love how he wore his warmup jacket when he won the 3 point contest with the last rack of balls from the corner!
The Dominique battle was perhaps one of the greatest battles of all time. How the Hawks lost that series still baffles many fans.
I think that was the series/game where LL said, "We both deserve to win, but one of us has to go home."
Elvin and Larry. There's a couple of guys you want on your side in a bar brawl. I have heard teammates of both say what a great sense of humor they had.
I love watching videos when people don't know who Larry Bird is and say he's not the goat but believe me by the end of the reaction they are believers😊😊😊 not only how he played the game but his character and his loyalty to his teammates and his team is legendary players don't do that these days they go wherever the money is and believe me I am sure back in the day Larry Bird had multiple offers from many teams but he never wavered😊😊😊😊
When Larry started playing for the Celtics we watched every game. After the first few games watching Larry play and saying, what. Because we couldn't believe how good Bird was. We started taping every Boston game. Bird would just shut your mouth because you didn't know how he just killed everyone. I still have about 80 games on tape. We never saw anyone like him. He was that good. Incredible just Incredible.
I haven't seen this one thank you I absolutely love Larry Bird and I probably watched almost every video out there more than once😊😊😊😊 they don't call him Larry the legend for nothing😊😊
Same here. Except I wouldn't say I liked the Birdman back in the 1980s. West Coast fan then. Seeing his CZcams feats now. I am blown away by his BB skills.
Indoors with sunglasses?! I need a break, no thanks.
Man, i miss the 80s and 90s NBA. Celtics, Bulls, Pistons, Lakers. I havent watched the NBA since Kobe retired.
BIRD!!!!! All of them
goat
Barkley doesnt get the recognition he deserves.
He was a fakking phenomenal player, probably top50 of all time.
He just dont get talked about due to never getting a ring.
He had the great misfortune of playing in the most stacked league of all time.
When like 30 of the top 50 best players of all time is in the league with you, youre sh¡t out of luck 🤣
Larry legend! 🤘
FYI Bird was a legit 6'10"
Happy Birthday Keydrik. I feel bad that I didn't watch NBA in the 80's but am enjoying these flashbacks.
when did you start?
Bird actually was6'10" and played both PF and SF.
yessir thats what i was sayinggg
the thing about larry. Not fast. but his BB iq was insane. IF you're 1 second ahead of the next guy , you're the fastest guy out there.
Bird was playing power forward until Kevin McHale became a starter. Cedric Maxwell was the small forward until he was traded. Bird played small forward after that.
That clears up a lot of questions. Long time west coast Celtics fan.
Great video, happy birthday.
thank youu
thank youu for the bday wishes have a blessed one
It was a 5 dollar bet that he was collecting from each teammate. No big deal, it's just the principle
There is no other player in NBA history who has these kinds of stories about them. He is the GOAT !!!
exactly
Larry played both PF and SF, yes.
But his official role was SF.
You are crazy if you think Charles Barkley is in any way close to Draymond Green. He was consistently the best player on his team while wearing multiple jersys. He was the first 4 I could remember with the guts to stretch 3. He wasn't great his whole career but he was clutch for several years and was a bully in the paint! He was a monster on boards and became cerebral like Rodman by the end of his career. In there prime's, respectively, Charles would dominate Green. It's guaranteed.
Bird was unguardable !
Bird could play power forward if needed, but his position was small forward.
okay okayy yall win
He was their Power Forward. But Red said McHale would be better sr Power Forward. Would you mind going to Small Forward. You can play the Perimeter better. Larry could shoot 3s but not like later, since at Power Forward he did not have to use it much. He practiced hard and improved his 3 point game.
The greatest at that
NOOOOO, Larry was a small forward!
okay okay yall got meeee
On paper. He played both spots in reality.
He played power forward his first couple years in the NBA. Cedric played small forward those years.
Michael Jordan said that he's still not sure if Larry is a small forward or a power forward but yes, he was a.small forward.
@@keydrik7 you 88iú8i8h
im glad Dominique got to play against bird and the Celtics, even though they kept the hawks out of the championship games but these bird videos help the younger fan's know just how good the human highlight was and for him not to be on the 50 greatest player list is criminal Dominique was a beast!!
Larry Bird IS basketball. If he's not in your top 3. Smh. Hears Yoda voice say "much to learn, you still have" 😂😂😅😊
Bird was cold af.
If Lebron played in the 80's his career would have been much shorter and he would never have broken Kareem's points record.
Sadly during the dream team era Larrys back was so bad he couldnt move like he used to, but magic to Larry man you have got to be a part of this so Larry played best he could and still made a good showing.
I love the respect you show for Larry Legend. 👍
You guys are wrong about Larry being scared. He had 3 older Brothers and they were dirt poor. he wasn't scared of shit!
Who said Larry was scared? When did he act scared? Larry wasn't scared of any player because he knew that he had a team that he could use to beat any "players" team. Truth be told, they all feared Larry Bird
Maybe if you watch the video you might be able to hear who said it. Do you think I said Bird was scared,? You cant read either.@@jaycockrell7470
I don’t believe anything scared him! I watched him do so many impossible things in the 80’s it was crazy. He scared the crap out of a LEAGUE of HALL OF FAMERS!
Jordan NEVER beat BIRD in the playoffs.... evvveeerrr. Sweep, sweep... x2. Only man to beat the GOAT 🐐
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
LARRY LEGEND IS A UNICORN AND THE TRUE GOAT!!! 🐐 ☘️
Charles Barkley played both small and power forward position….his listed height for most of his career was 6’6” but his actual height was between 6’4 “& 3/4”. And 6’5”. He was super quick off his feet getting rebounds and dunking over centers.
Craziest Bird story was when he made a guy actually consider suicide.
I think the guy was named Jason Williams.
I could wrong but its the name my brain want to associat with that story.
There is a video where he tells the story himself.
The one on the _Irishgirl_ channel is the best version. IMO
It's Williams telling the story himself.
Good stuff.
will search for that video ASAP!! SOUNDS CRAZY
My favorite trash talk just happened recently when some player said Larry couldn't play in this time and he said really and bet him 10000 dollars he could. So Larry said we will shoot for it and after 10 shots or more the other guy gave up lol that's Larry legend. Boys now the game with Dominique Larry had bronchial pneumonia that's why he didn't play that great the fist three quarters. Watching he was amazing playing sick hurt didn't mater he always gave us fans something. Great reaction fun watching both of you. Fire the two of you together!
he still proving people wrong
Birds the mother fucking legend 4 a reason 😤. McHale is a beast in the post. Both ugly... but unstoppable, unselfish, un-mf-real
I have watched hundreds of NBA Player Video's I have never seen one player get more Praise By other Players...Than Larry
Heard your friend make the comment "Mike got 6 rings" just remember.. he didn't start collecting them until AFTER Larry was out of the league. Plus.. head to head in the playoffs, Mike was 0 - 2 against Larry getting SWEPT both times.. just saying! As good as James is.. he don't have nothing on Larry's clutchness. Argue that
I'm from Boston Larry legend fan Pzo and k great video and great reactions I loved every story I love how you giving Larry legend his props and I love seeing young guy's like both of you checking all the the legends from the past ty put out some more videos that was so good ty again ❤
It's funny watching kids talk about guys who are old now but others saw them when they were young...like Spike.
As a 70 yr old Di coach, not bball, you gain the ability to recognize athleticism and ability. When you watch the greatest table tennis players at the Olympics you can see great eye hand coordination. Bird had it.
If Bird played now, he'd say why did y'all put LeBron on me? Man that's just disrespectful.
LeBron would end up crying 😭
My favorite Larry Bird trash-talking moment is when he didn't say anything and won back-to-back-to-back MVPs in a league with the Dream team and Michael Jordan in it.... from 81 to 1988 he didn't finish lower than 2nd for MVP and received 67% of the MVP votes. Larry Bird was the best player in the NBA in the 80s
Please, "American basketball players talking about european atmosphere" is a gem.
It's worth listening the basketball shock culture they went trough.
It's fun and you can understand the cultural diference in basketball
thank youu def is
Larry Bird was that white boy that went to the hood to get his best play in.
I wasn't mad when I heard Spike say that at the time~ I wouldn't go so far as to say Bird was ugly, but he WAS goofy-kookin' AF!!! And I'M a Boston-area old Celtic fan!! 🍀
Bird has a statue in Terra Haute, IN
Correction: You are referring to Larry Bird saying "You better put a brother on me" when Kurt Benson was trying to guard him when Larry went baseline and scored the game winner at the buzzer. And the back story on that is Benson was one of the reasons Bird left Indiana. Rumor has it that Benson was trying to bully Bird the first couple weeks Bird was there. So bird decided to make Benson's life miserable in the NBA when Bird arrived.
Bird 6'10" . Mckale 6'11" . Parish 7' . 6th man. Walton. Best front line ever. All Hall of famers .
Bird, best SF ever.
Top NBA career combined stats per game (pts, reb, ast, stl, blk) career fg%,tp%,ft%
1. Jordan 44.7 -50-33-84
2. Lebron 44.4 -51-35-73
3. Bird 43.1 -50-38-89
4. Kareem 42.9 -56-06-72
5. Durant 40.8 -50-38-88
Bird has the second highest game winning percentage right behind Magic (10 games off).
Larry stated in an interview that he was most proud of his free throw percentage stats. He was all about winning, team oriented, not stat driven. Case in point, the Legend could have easily had a quadruple double. He was 1 steal away after 3 quarters and the Celtics were up by 22 points, Larry didn't play the 4th quarter and was quoted, "I did enough damage"! Padding his stats was beneath Larry. #Legend
Y'all should check out some Lakers v Celtics final games and Dr. J's 76's v Celtics ECF in '81. Larry and the Celtics came back from a 1-3 deficit to not only win the ECF but continued on to beat the Rockets in the final for his 1st Finals trophy. That was Larry's 2nd season!! This team was before Kevin McHale, Parrish, Dennis Johnson! There is an awesome video on this titled the best UNDERDOG story ever told! And another one on the Lakers final game 4!
Ehlo, early '80's......Lubbock, Monterey High School.......
Buddy Holley also rocked Lubbock.
Parrish was listed at 7', McHale at 6'10", and Larry at 6'9"". Magic at 6'9". Standing side by side, Larry was a little taller than Magic, so The numbers for Kevin and Larry were a little on the conservative side. Charles was listed at times at 6'8", yeah, right. He was closer to 6'4" or 5". 1979 was the first year of the three point shot in the NBA, Larry's rookie season. At the time, 6'10" players just didn't shoot from long range. At his height, with that step back jumper and fade away, 39:02 with his almost behind his head shot, he was very difficult to block. Now days almost everybody is popping threes, not back then.
6'10" 3 pt. Contest winner x3 in a row..... wtf
Larry was one of the top 2 or 3 shooters of all time, one of the top 2 or 3 passers of all time, a top 5 rebounder at small forward and the most clutch player ever. He’s definitely in the top 5 all time… my top 5 (of players I’ve actually seen since 1977) are Jordan-Bird-Magic-Kobe-Lebron.
very respectable list
Wilt Chamberlain
Spike Lee ain't no prize in the looks department, either, but who really cares, anyway. In the still pic of Bird shooting his jump shot over Domenique, who I have great respect for, and is one of my favorite players to watch, Bird was not in the greatest shape of his career, even then. Bird's feet, with his legs straight, look to be around 2 feet above the floor, with him probably coming down after releasing the shot. That's not too bad an elevation for a player a little past his prime and reputed to not be a great leaper. With his height and shooting form, this is why Bird wasn't often blocked and could get his jumper off most of the time.
😀👍🔥🏀
u a loyal supporter on both channels for me and pzo i see thank you for the support
A cool, cold killa
All
Of
Them 💚
The story not here is the one before the all star 3 point shoot out where Bird walked into the room and asked all the shooters " Who is coming in 2nd because I am winning this thing?". And nobody said anything. Bird won the contest and also won the contest the next 2 years = Bird entered 3 contests back to back to back, and won all 3.
legendary tings
33:50
Thats 5 years before he retired.
Barkley was 6'6" like Jordan...and Bird was listed 6'9" so was Magic but he seems taller than Magic.
Beers with the Glove would b awesome
love u blood! we gotta get another one in for my channel
I love Larry to death ...BUT, Mars Blackman wasn't lying, I feel bad for poor Larry!
AND SEARCH WHAT TEAM LARRY BIRD AND THE BOSTON CELTIC BEAT IN THE FINALS AND HOW PHYSICAL THE GAME AND YOU WILL UNDERSTAND THAT ERA AND COMPARE THE GAME TODAY NOT EVEN CLOSE ,PLAYERS NOW THEY COMPLAIN AND FLOPPING TO GET A FOUL REALLY. REAL MAN'S GAME WAS 70' AND 80'S PERIOD
Each Boston,Laker game at the Forum I'd be there..not only when Bird played.way back before Bird. I've been a Celtic fan the moment Bob Cousy was picked.followed his career at Boston College.. Bill Russell from San Francisco a Bostic Celtic ,been a Celtic fan ever since. I knew then the rest would be basketball history..one regret be not never been to Boston Garden...
1 steal from a quadruple dbl in 3/4........ GOAT 🐐 ♑️ 🐑 🐐
Bird playing against rodman in regular season averaged 24.7 points, 8.0 rebounds and 6.9 assists. in playoffs Bird averaged 20.9 points, 9.8 rebounds and 6.2 assists. rodman's stats against Bird regular season 10.2 points, 9.5 rebounds and 1.3 assists, post season 6.0 points, 4.4 rebounds and 0.7 assists. Rodman wasn't any better at guarding Bird. No wonder Rodman is still jealous to this day.
The fact that people even compare LeBron to THE GOAT JORDAN is insane! LeBron is trash compared to MJ!
At 34:00 how come your friend look like a supervillain😂😂😂😂😂
Trandsendent bird is th goat of sycological
"Too slow"
"To the most"
LeBron could play in any era. His skills would work in any era. His athletic ability would work in any era also. Bird could play in any era also, especially the Bird before his back injury. With all of his skills, Bird was a much better athlete than people say. As a kid, I saw him pick alley-oop passes out of the air when he was in college and in the first few years as a pro, Bird used to dunk on shot blockers.
LeBron is too soft to be as successful in the 80s
Dominique was a beast. 3 favorite player no doubt
Being a Bucks fan in the 80's, Bird was so annoying...always knocking them out.
Not Larry Bird related but something in the video reminded me of the time San Antonio presented David Robinson the very controversial MVP award pregame in front of Hakeem Olajuwon. Right before game 5, David Robinson is quoted saying Hakeem is "only human and can't score 40 points every game". Hakeem isn't a trash talker with his voice... only with his play... The final result was a 21-point victory for the Rockets and Hakeem finishing with 42/9/8 to Robinson's 22 & 12. You can look up some highlights that are permanently infused into my brain. The game that ended the Spurs season Hakeem finished with 39 points, 17 boards and 5 blocks as Robinson struggled to reach 19 points on 6 of 17 shooting; only two of Robinson's six field goals were made against Hakeem.

Just in case you didn't know.. worthy was on the same North Carolina team as Jordan was and was picked 1st overall in the draft Jordan was 3rd in. Just for context.
Bird stands 6’9” tall
When Detroit put Dennis Rodman on Larry Bird… Larry destroyed him… You got the story wrong.
Kareem cusses his ass off on this mf 🚬🤣
Hey man. Barkley is only 6'4". Gave up 5 inches to Bird.
Peobably the most incredible thing about Barkley. Today they say 6 foot 5 but that is not true.
Jordan had it easy 😂😂 the pistons had a rule for jordan to hurt him and dont let him get in the air and he still was great and when he was with the wizards over 40 yrs old he was averaging abt 30 on one leg and a broken finger
Great job as usual Pzo. You don't tug on Supermans' cape, you don't spit into the wind, you don't pull the mask of the ol' lone ranger and you don't f**k aroung with Bird! I don't believe there's an actual GOAT. There are 8 or 9 guys who belong in the convo. However if you ask the Hall of Famers, they say Larry Legend. No offense to Michael, Magic, Kareem or Wilt. Love em' all!!!!
Larry my first pick of all time to captain my team
I heard said a few times about you seeing most of these highlights.. thing is though.. if you watched Birds career, like I got to.. every night was a highlight. You can fathom what it was like. Every dang night was a performance. You couldn't make a FULL documentary on the highlights of his career cause it would be a 12 year documentary. I don't see this highlight much.. a game against Clyde drexler.. they are just past half court.. not much time on the shot clock.. Clyde's on him.. Larry jumps, his head is IN Clyde's chest.. let's go of the ball, couldn't even see the hoop.. 3 pointer. Every night was a show. Don't see it nowadays. I know, every old timer talks about thier time like this.. but talk to enough old timers and they will agree with what I said about bird. Every night, every game.. something.
Small forward.
Exactly
aaauuuuughhh alright yall win
I actually got to see DaBulls play
MJ had it easy? He beat Magic, Clyde Drezler, Barkley, Gary Payton, John Stockton, Karl Malone.....EASY? SERIOUSLY?
I grew up in South Boston in the 80's. I was 8 in 84. And of course, we disliked the Lakers from the womb. Red Auerbach would turn off the hot water after games against the Lakers. Or in June/July... no air Conditioning in the Locker rooms. He always had to have the upper hand and the Buss family did the same thing to the Celtics!!
