How to reset the SLT3 radio.

- In this Hobby 365 video I will show you the process for factory resetting the SLT3 radio. This process also works for the Speckrum Dx3 radio that comes with the Arrma models.
Here is my story:
My name is Phillip I have been in the hobby industry for nearly 20 years. My radio-controlled adventure started at a very young age, but began to be a priority soon after my father was inspired to purchase a Traxxas T-max from the monster truck scene of the movie Oceans 11 in 2001. I began entry level part-time work for my local Hobbytown store in the fall of 2002 where I found as much love for the customers as my hobby. In 2016, I took on new challenges when I purchased the store from my employer.
The inspiration for this channel came during the covid-19 mandatory closures and the time I spent reflecting on the years and countless customers who asked me to write a book from my knowledge of radio controlled equipment. The original name of the channel was Hobbied. However I quickly found that CZcams’s search algorithms didn’t like the spelling of the name. So I changed the name to Hobby 365, as in, hobby every day. From day one the goal of this channel was to provide useful information without all yammering that frequently comes with how-to and informational videos.
Many of my video ideas come from viewer suggestions. So if you have any suggestions, comments or questions drop them in the comments section below. I really do try my best to answer them.

Thank you! I haven’t taken my Kraton 6 for a spin in a few months and charged up the batteries and got to the bash zone and no SLT3 I brought extra batteries just in case. I looked up why and you personally saved the day! I didn’t know they had to be reset after not using for awhile. Thanks again and keep up the great work!

i put a knew servo and saver in my arm 3s typhon and now the steering is back ward..how do I fix this please.

The remote lights up in red in a constant light mode, instead of flashing. I can send you a video explaining the problem, knowing that the car is new and the remote is new. If the controller is not calibrated properly what would be the indication of this?
I ask this because I have a ln Arrma Senton V3 Mega 550 that’s been upgraded to a brushless system with all the BLX 3s inner parts. I’m running the BLX100 ESC with a 3652 Motor. I am also using 3s 6800mah 80C batteries. My current issue is as follows.
I will turn the radio on. Turn on the truck and everything works great. I can run full throttle for about 30sec to a minute then the throttle cuts back to what I would guess is a limp in mode roughly 20% throttle. Then if I keep running for about a minute or so it will eventually cut out the throttle totally. I can turn the ESC off then back on and it works great again for a short period of time and will repeat this.
I have noticed that the LED on the ESC is slowly flashing RED when this happens. I am running the factory SLT3 radio that came with the truck and I have a gyro inline with the servo.
Do you have any thoughts on this?

when I bind my DX3 I only get throttle no steering?
Mine has throttle and no steering . it’s a 5 days old Kraton 6s . No hard driving . Keeps repowering on same way I walked up to it in the grass the other day . I hope it’s just a servo . I don’t know why horizon and arrma keep putting in crap servos on a $600 car is ridiculous and I’m kinda mad even knowing these things break from time to time . But 5 days old , a 4s pack a day pretty much .
Hello i commented on the other vid. Thing is im doing it on an older boat with no reverse only forward so max and neutral points calibration throws me off since its only forward. I have to calibrate everytime i power it on to drive it then when doing that i have to have throttle in (rev) on the transmitter then hold full brake and afterwards i switch back the throttle to normal on the transmitter then i got forward. I gotta do this everytime i power it on cause doing it the regular easy peezy way doesnt work
It works but it sucks having to do it this way everytime i will try this method when i charge batteries though
I see you issue. Older boat specific ESC's were designed to be used with a stick style radio where there the resting position is not the center of the stick like a ground radio is using the center of the trigger. The esc is looking for the lowest throttle position before arming this way the boat doesn't just power on and run out of control. I think the esc's built in fail safe is locking you out as a precautionary measure. In my experience the recalibration should teach the esc what that lowest throttle position is. I do not know why you are forced to recalibrate every time. The only thing that comes to mind is if there is a problem with the throttle potentiometer in the radio. Try powering up the boat as you have been doing and move the throttle trigger from left to right (not in the direction that would operate the throttle) it wont move much but if the throttle is responding to that movement you have an issue in the radio.

Hello Philip, I hope you are very well, I need help with my Kraton 6s. I recently tested it and everything was normal when its batteries ran out, I removed them and recharged them, but now with charged batteries it only moved forward and it did not give me direction on the front wheels
What could it be? any loose cable or total change of servo?
I'd bet it is a bad servo if you have throttle but no steering. Try powering up the model and then move the steering by hand. If the servo moves without resistance or if the servo acts sporadic you have a bad servo.

What about how to program?
I have the typhon is there a reason ,one may want to change to SR315 reciever? I will try reset ...im having issue with steering OK,no reverse ,no throttle?
If you are using the SLT radio there isn't a real reason to use one receiver or another. Other than limitations of availability of course. I want to make sure I understand the second part of your question. You are not having issues with steering but you are with throttle and reverse? If this is the case you could try recalibrating the ESC. What ESC do you have?
@@Hobby365 not sure about model its the stock one on the mega typhon 550...🤔whats strange is the hobbywing max10 ESC on another typhon was doing the same? HOBBYWING I recalibrate and issue seems to be gone for now...stock mega idk how to recalibrate? Its the brushed system though. Both currently run the (slt3 slr300) wondering is it the radio system or ESC?
I put in new batteries and the remote would not even turn on please help
Double check the simple stuff first. like make sure your batteries are turned the right way around. There is also a known issue where the power button either goes bad or pops off the board. Horizon is warrantying them out should that be your issue.

Is there a third button on SLT3? I try to turn on the light with the third chanel,it did not work!!
You need a electronic switch to control the lights. The white wire on the servo or esc connector is how the electronics function so a switch such as this www.hobbytown.com/powershift-rc-technologies-pst-2-position-switch-w-12v-booster-pwr-013/p-xthnscaqztabg4yz would interpret the commands from your radio as on/off.
@@Hobby365 I already use the wire for turning on the light with SLT3....But when I pressed the Third button such A B, even middle of A and B. Nothing happed! Where is the third button for SLT3?
@@just719 The thrid channel button is a rocker switch located on the grip of the radio near where your thumb rests.
@@Hobby365 understood. Thats wht i also thought, but how come nothing happens when i press A and/or B. i already have the switch and connected wires like you said, but lights not turn on. :(

Mine's brand-new not even turning on
That did not work and I don't have that side light on mine
