How do you stay fit living in Paris? My friend moved there years ago. He gained 70 lbs. the first year living in Paris. It was all the sauces, bread, and cheese.

This is tourture!!! I miss Paris so much! We loved our trip last summer. We had a smaller marché than the ones you showed. The salmon I got there for a couple of our meals was of the melt in your mouth variety. Also the Brie de Hauts-de-Seine was awesome! I've never had such a tasty Brie before. What we have here in Québec is sub par in comparison, even the ones we import. The closest was a Brie de Meaux at Fromagerie Hamel in Repentigny, east of Montréal. We've spent a total of 24 days combined on two trips (2007 and 2023) and we've only had one bad meal, on our last day last summer at an Italian restaurant near Javel-André Citroen métro station.
Now, for La Bel'ge Frite, I wonder if they would be willing to import cheese curds from Québec and make a poutine gravy. I'm positive a poutine would be the bomb with those frites.

There are more and more great vegetarian options in Paris every day. We put a guide on the Thatch travel app with 125 addresses. I love Charli Crew (for the food and the owner). But there are some nice fine dining spots too.
