    Hi Lisa thank you for your well explained videos. I am exploring this new area of Power Apps, so far I am hooked to Model-Driven Power Apps due to the massive utilities that come bundled into it; and also, I am coming from the database-first development area.

    For those of you, who like me were looking for QCF without having necessarily the table shown on navigation menu. You must at least add the table in Edit Apps/Tab table then shoose option not in navigation menu. This way the QCF will appear.

    Hi Lisa, thank you for your video, crystal clear, very efficient, nice English speaking that I envy ;-). You have a lot talents.
    Fun comment about the Related tab. As I wasn’t able to get rid of it in order to simplify the UI, I deleted my dedicated subgrid tab and reworked the default view offered by the Related tab. Yes it means more user clicks but a less confusing UI that presents redundant entry points.
    I wait for your next vids.

      @@LisaCrosbie Question on subgrids and quick create form: I have a table with 2 forms - one form for admins one for user (the latter has less fields - on each of the form I have a subgrid to the same table; I created 2 quick create forms (one for admin, one for user with less fields) and I want to attach them to their respective form (admin or user). The form settings of the quick create form lets me set the order but it does that automatically for both forms.... any idea on how to get the correct quick create form pop up in the admin/user form?

    Loving your videos! Can this be done the other way round? If I was in the equipment orders page, could I create an order and then have a tab for creating the parent (equipment)?
    Instead of equipment-orders I’m trying to create something for recruitment, candidates (one) - positions (many). There may be many positions due to returning employees or contractors that return for additional stints with our org.
    Sometimes I’ll want to start with the position, then add the candidate once selected and other times start with the candidate, and add their additional position.
    Does that make sense!?

I've been trying to find a way to make the Quick View Form read-only but the read-only checkbox for the individual fields (to the right) doesn't seem to work. Is there any way to make the Quick View Form or its fields read-only without writing any code?

    Hi Lisa, thanks again for your great work. When i have a subgrid in my table and i create a new Record in the original table (not in the subgrid), it will not be shown in my subgrid. Is this correct? So it seems to me, the subgrid is not really synced with the original table...?! I "Hope" it is only a settings thing, otherwise it would be really useless. ?!

    • @LisaCrosbie
      @LisaCrosbie  Před 4 měsíci

      The subgrid is for showing the related (child) records. If you have an account (original table) showing related contacts in a subgrid, and you create a new account record you don’t see that in the subgrid.

    I would like to ask, theres a question in one of the microsoft exams that asks how users can edit data from other entities in the main form, and many people chose subgrids, but i thought the right answer would be to add a quick create form. Can I get your opinion on this?

    • @LisaCrosbie
      @LisaCrosbie  Před 4 dny

      Hard to say without knowing the full details of the questions and answers which obviously you can’t share because of exam NDA. I’d lean towards the subgrids as the more likely correct answer if the question was about how to edit (rather than create)

    Woww.. this is so good content. I have been waiting for your new video and this has made me keen to learn from you on Model Driven Apps. One question - how and from where the button "New Equipment Order" at czcams.com/video/baRLW8bak9Q/video.html has come from? Has it automatically come when you added a grid for related records?

    • @LisaCrosbie
      @LisaCrosbie  Před 2 lety +1

      When I create the subgrid it is automatically there. This didn’t used to happen, you had to enable quick create (shown in the second half of the video) before it would appear. If you don’t see that appear automatically on your table, follow the quick create steps in this video and that will fix it.
