Building affordable housing on Metro-owned land is an excellent idea. We should keep in mind, though, that the worsening housing shortage is largely caused by needlessly restrictive zoning codes that the city has full control over. Incrementally upzoning EVERY neighborhood in LA would have 10X the impact on reducing home prices than building a handful of supportive housing buildings. The reason they won't do this is because the rich homeowners don't want slightly lower income families living close to them. It's wrong to preserve state sanctioned residential class segregation for so many reasons. Exclusionary Zoning was enacted during Redlining and we are upholding those same racist policies today. Unacceptable.
Rapidly Growing rail network?? It's taken friggen FOREVER !!!!
Snarky about WSAB....they should rename the Gateway Line or the G line.
