He was benefited from a very good running game. When they loaded line of scrimmage and stopped the running game, he couldn’t find wide open receivers!
Forgetting the roster that he was surrounded with. Literally upgraded at all levels. Baker benefitted from a system and team that took the pressure and workload off him

Never been a Mayfield fan, always thought he was drafted too high, but I honesty believe he is an average quarterback. I think, if healthy, he will be better that 10 or so starting quarterbacks, but its almost a meme 5o root against him now..

Mike tomlin has seen Baker Mayfield versus the steelers 7 times. In those 7 games Baker has only been able to win 2. And In 6 of those games The steelers defense have been able to lay Baker out. The steelers are better off without him.

The thing that I always come back to is why would Seattle ever want to go this route? You don’t have the roster to compete for a playoff spot, you’re in the toughest division in the nfc, and outside of receiver the roster doesn’t have much talent. They’re a young rebuilding team now. They’re better off just rolling with lock and getting through the season and drafting in the top 3 in a much better qb draft class.

The problem with qbs is they hype up qbs that could be good, and go to terrible teams and get hurt or fail. But when you get an average QB like brady is, and you put him into a decent team like who the pats were, surround brady with a good QB and coach to learn from, good weapons and protection, and a defense to bail him out, you accomplished more. Imagine if Trevor Lawrence went to Cleveland.

That’s not true he has on Baker segments before if they were just gonna say Baker’s injured this year he’d have no problem with that. His problem was they kept blaming Odell until he left then they pivoted to injuries. If injuries were the issue then why keep blaming Odell? Also he’s blamed his bad rookie and 2nd season too where he was healthy. When Odell played injured they called him bad and the problem and he’s returning the “if your on the field then your healthy” criticism back to Baker.

I love breaking down those 11 great games Baker had. 3 games he had 12 of his 20 TDs. That leaves 8 games with only 1 TD each. Not that good. He had 3 games where he passed for less than 180 a game. One game was 111 yards. Not all that great. He had 4 fumbles lost and 3 INTs. So, 7 turnovers in 11 games. Not bad not great either. When you break it down 20-5 looks sweet. But really is wasn't with 12 in 3 games. The rest he gave you pretty much nothing TD wise. In those 11 Cleveland lead the NFL in rushing. This makes 20-5 look even worse. He couldn't even give you 2 TDs a game with a amazing rushing game. Baker is actually average with a great offensive line and the NFLs best running attack. Not good at all really.
