I can hear a lot of Garth's instrumentation (most notably the fiddles and banjo that was later in "Callin' Baton Rouge"); come to find out, this song was produced by Allen Reynolds, Garth's longtime producer until 2001!
Reynolds also produced Hal Ketchum (R.I.P.) and, for one album, Emmylou Harris. His clean, organic (for lack of a better word) production style came through in all of those albums, too. Interestingly, the two musicians shown in this video didn't play on this recording. They were members of Kathy's road band -- Bill Cooley, guitar, and Jonathan Yudkin, fiddle. Reynolds preferred to use Nashville studio musicians on his records, but there would have been no drop-off in quality if he'd used Bill and Jonathan instead. Kathy always had a top-flight band backing her.
