I talk to this driver, this song is about it is a true story. We were leaving little america, going west. He past me and I saw the airbrushed dozen roses on the side of his dark red Peter-Built, I called out to him on the CB, that the artwork was beautiful. He replied that it was a dozen roses he promised his wife when he made his last run, he said was going home, this was his last run. That was in the Nineties not long afterward I heard that song, I knew Kathy Matea was inspired by that driver. I quite driving longhaul a few years later, and became a bus driver, but now retired too. I will never forget those Dozen Roses, and wonder how life turn out for him.

The 1969 Vista Cruiser from that 70's show may have had a 7.5L/455ci V8 Rocket in it. Those second generation Vista Cruisers came with the 455ci option, I know because my Uncle owns one still. Mostly original, still runs, still chugs gasoline, but she still goes! Cool car, just a behemoth though, even compared to my 1954 Mercury M-100, which is about as far from looking nice as possible lol, she needs a huge amount of work, but she runs. Yeah, we're from Michigan, so we love our Merc's out here.
