Painting the second coat of the door using floetrol. Will the brush strokes improve?

  • Used floetrol to see if brush strokes could get better. Also rolled the flat parts, then tipped them with a brush. The strokes were a bit less prominent in some areas and I should have used more floetrol (don't worry, I'm not a floetrol salesman). The portable light was invaluable. Shocking revelation during this process: using a brush leads to brush strokes!

Some parts of the door looked great, you pretty much said what you had done wrong, going over already drying parts this caused the excess brush marks, the brush you used looked like 1.5 inch try using a 2 inch and also use a microfibre roller 1'4" or 3/8" nap rather than foam (foam is best for oil based paint) only use a brush on the door edges, apply, tip off (once not multiple times) then leave to dry.

Thank you for the suggestions! I wound up ordering a sprayer to see if that would make things easier for the other side.
