@Louis Rossmann the whole Amtech/Inventec thing, here's a quick summary: V2 is a much older formula. It's honey colored and has a pine scent. It is intended for leaded hand-soldering. Unfortunately, the manufacturing process yielded a compound that was not too stable and it often would crystalize in the tube, and one of the necessary reagents was becoming increasingly hard to obtain.
Inventec gave up on this V2 formula because of the manufacturing challenges and has, for some time, been selling what it _actually_ NC-559-ASM-TF, a newer formula that will work for both leaded and lead-free solder. It is a more creamy color and not as dark and does not have the pine scent.
Amtech, since parting ways with Inventec, has now created a new manufacturing process that results in a more stable V2 but is otherwise 1:1 and they found a way to substitute the one challenging reagent. So, anyone complaining about it being "different" are likely ordering "V2" directly from Amtech when they actually meant to order "ASM". It's funny because some folks are like "wow! They went back to the old formula!" and some folks who didn't use V2 way back then are like "wow, this is a *new* formula", lol.

@Louis Rossmann. I agree with you in general on the unions. Except for jobs that have a monopsony type employment situation. That is a job where there are is essentially one defacto employer for the niche. An example I can think of is nursing, especially a specialist like pediatrics. Which usually are loss leaders for hospitals. (Pediatrics as a business costs a lot to have services for, is good for marketing, but makes no money for the hospital. The sickest kids are often from broke families. And if your kid is really sick, you'll soon be broke, because America.) Now full disclosure I am married to a nurse in a union, but if she was not in a union she would make considerably less for being in pediatrics, even though it takes more specialized training and certifications to care for that population. Plus it is important to have that in a community, kids should get specialized treatment so they grow up to be healthy functional adults and give back.
But I am biased.
I will agree though that some unionized electricians and tradesfolk I have worked with are eyerolling levels of lazy. Not to mention our local teacher's union has bankrupted most schools, including the public school I was fortunate enough to graduate from before financially things got really bad. So I am not always pro-union. It is complicated.

Been buying Macs since '86, and the MacBook is the only one I had trouble with and after 2-3 logic board swaps and a 2 minute video showing it cycling through repeated reboots after that, Apple exchanged it for a new top of the line MacBook Air which of course works great.
Glad your experience has been positive. I cannot after seeing all the stuff I've seen repairing computers buy a MacBook nothing I do requires one and the cons are too great

I know this is out of topic, but right to repair can be circumvented by manufacturers deliberately making it harder for normal people to repair their machines/cars. Read an online post about a Cad designer for BMW and said that management would shoot down any attempts to make parts much easier for people to repair because they would no longer use authorized service shops.

So yesterday my 2013 iMac self updated itself without my consent and the update bricked my Mac… the unfortunate thing about this is I’ve had the Mac for about a year and yes it’s used but I can’t help but think these “updates” eventually make it so you have to buy a new Mac. It’s super disappointing because I’ve been a Mac user for over 15 years and now I can’t work because I don’t have a Mac… p.s. I’m a musician and video editor so the bulk of my work is done on my Mac :( HELLP!!
