For everyone wondering, they are only available in Japan which is why they don't pop up on the official site for North America and why they aren't being sold anywhere. It may be until January that the international markets start to get them. They are available in the UK and already sold out in Japan.
I appreciate that you're willing to say to not even bother with one model over the other one. Great vido!
But I would like to hear the differences between them.
@@gehteuchnichtsan7911 same
@@gehteuchnichtsan7911 geht dichtnichtsan
today I got myself a pair of A3000, after listening to both so it's not necessarily truth to "not bother" :-)
Gotta agree with Manolo Traveller. I much prefer the A3000 compared to the 4000. 4000 is a little forward on the high mids - treble region and lesser bass.
The A4000 is an incredible pair!! supreme build, outstanding sound clarity, love it!!
these look amazing! hope to see someone compare these against the NF Audio NM2+. now I'm kinda torn between these
Man I just got a pair of Final Audio e3000’s and love them, surprisingly good soundstage so now I’m really looking forward to getting these next
Great review. Thanks!
Not certain if you’ve reviewed the Tin Planar IEM but would make an interesting comparison.
Joshua, I have to say that I love your videos. Your videography, content, presentation and audio is great. I only follow to audio channels and you are one of them. I know you talk more about headphones and amps for headphones, but I wonder what mic/preamp do you use to get this clean audio for your videos? I think that is a part I have been missing. What would you recommend there? Based on your recommendations I got a Shiit HEL and I use it as preamp for my NTG2 mic, but It does not sound warm and inviting as your audio. :)
Just ordered the A4000 on Amazon in UK. I was checking twice a day for them and pounced. I am happy that they are made of plastic of some kind, plastic seems plenty tough for the purpose, ever tread on Lego in bare feet? Maybe metal has some sonic advantage I am unaware of. There is another model that looks similar named VR3000, sold as a gaming earphone.
Great review! Have you tested the Tin P1s? Any idea how those stack up?
Edit: I meant the Tin P1s, not P2 a since they're in the same price bracket.
😲 I see the S.M.S.L SH-9 in there. I been looking at that but waiting to see better reviews on it. Any chance you are doing a future review on this Josh? 😉 As always. Great video.
Stunning review
I hope you can get to review the Moondrop Illumination/Blessing 2 and compare them to the other TOTLs
Interesting....how about this vs the Tanchjim Oxygen (esp. soundstage)?
One alternative to huge soundstage and imaging is hifiman RE-600s V2 but they need EQing and hard. They sound without EQ just horrible.
Me owning Final appeals for some reason ,I want to try the A4000 but only know a couple people to trade with ,you got me thinking, another great Video ,I first found you from Panasonic 420 Blu Ray player
Perfect timing I was thinking about trying iems
Ah, on e you do, your wallet will never close, my G.
Fantastic review. I have been curious about any IEMs that have good soundstage and I may have finally found what I'm looking for. I'm already a big fan of Final Audio so this really caught my attention.
According to Crinacle's measurement of the A8000, they are bright V shaped. Would you say that these are warm or V shaped for the sound signature? It seemed to be leaning in that direction from the description you were saying of each section.
When Josh recommend the DT1990, I thought he's after V shaped sound with bright highs. I like more even sound, leaning more towards HD600 but with more extended bass.
I guess I will take a chance on the Sundara headphones. I like my KRK KNS 8400s but I'm wondering how much better it could be. I just got a SMSL Sanskrit Mk 2 and it blew my mind even with a cheap amp. It has the 4493 chip like the Modious. Later, I will probably get the Magnious.
Please get into iems. We need to know where the value is and there are so many iem its hard to know where to start.
Iems are also the easiest purchase to make
I bought the A4000s several months ago on tbe basis of this review and found them most unimpressive at first- bass was underwhelming, mids sounded distant and recessed, treble very lifeless. I could not hear what Josh was hearing. I knew however that I was not getting a good fit with the tips I was using. I tried quite a number but it never sat right in my ear canal. Finally yesterday I tried the Azla Sedna Earfits and it slotted in like a glove, perfect seal, and WOW! They came alive, bass quantity is amazing, mids /vocals are forward, treble is detailed and I am finally appreciative of the staging Josh described. My point is: don’t give up on these if you haven’t achieved a good fit- it makes a big difference.
I add also that with the right tips, vocals are NOT recessed in the stage.
Yeah good fit is crazy
I’m looking to get some good true wireless IEMs. I want to pair something with the fostex TM2 or Shure Aonic 215. What would be your recommendations for IEMs around the sub 200 range?
I just bought the B3 a few months ago :( how do you compare the A4000 vs B3?
Would you really be willing to pay extra 350$ just for metal chassis instead of plastic? That's nuts...
Given the reputation of final...these are gonna last quite a while
I think he is implying that the sound quality is comparable to $500 IEMs?
@@sherman971221 He said, that they wouldn't even have to change the drivers, so technically yes, they may sound like IEMs worth much more. But that doesn't change the fact, that he would be okay with spending another 350$ for the the same IEMs, only made of metal.
Łukasz wygląda że dostępne są w Polsce, ale nie widzę ich na głównej stronie Final, chyba że sprzedają je jako Make series. Ciekawe
@@luke_skyknocker metal chassis usually give more depth in the sound and feel more solid in ears
Thank you for this great review, Josh. I tend to watch your videos within hours of publishing and usually a few times in case I'm interested in a product you are reviewing. I bought, liked, and returned the A4000 due to fitting issues.
This video helped me decide to purchase the A4000, and I must say that I agree with your assessment. In particular regarding soundstage which is very spacious for an IEM (rivaling some over-ear headphones I'd say) way above its price range, the rest of the sound quality is good and enjoyable: it's mildly V-shape, a little bassy and a little sparkly on top, which I quite like. The only thing sound-wise I think can be better for this price range is bass definition; the sound is there and can be heard clearly, but lacks some structure.
However, I had to return them due to fit issues. I couldn't find the right eartip from the included set nor was able to fiddle with the earbud to get it comfortable for my left ear. I couldn't use them for more than 20 mins without having to take them off because of unbearable pain, and I have no issues wearing Etymotic's IEMs for hours as a reference for my tolerance to using IEMs. So, if you are like me with rather small ears, beware of comfort-ability and fitting issues, make sure you purchase from a store that allows for returns and provide full refund.
If they performed identically, were the same price and the 4000 felt good to handle in person, I'd take the 4000 over the 8000. I prefer understated styling and I love a matte finish. Mirror polish on metal or gloss on speakers really isn't my thing.
Would love to see your take on the Moondrop Blessing 2's
Josh, what’s your thoughts on these compared to the iSine10? Mainly in terms of sound staging and possibly gaming
Can you review t he sivga pheonix, very on the line on these headpones. Love your reviews, would like to see your opinion on them.
A friend of mine is looking into a competitive gaming In-ears and these sound like a good option, what would you think? (And the light weight gonna be a big plus)
I just got the a4000...you are single handyly responsible for it too.....most importantly they are amazing!
So wait...are those powerd b1's back there? I never noticed that before. I love my b1+. I keep swapping back and forth with similar bookshelves, but these always find their way back.
How do they compare to the B3? I’m most impressed by the vocals of those.
Hi, do you have plans to review the Sennheiser IE 400 Pro? I would really like to hear what you have to say about them...
Wow. This is looking like my next purchase . But would like a comparison with DMS’s dog before finalizing on the purchase.
I still have E3000 in the collection. It's no longer used now, but back when I first listened to it, the sound was quite good for the price. I'll try the A4000 now.
And the result? I've been looking for this.
@@brandonmuschenick2785same
Hi joshua. Believe me or not, I ended up buying both Hifiman Arya and later the Focal Clear (instead of Utopia) based on your suggestions and preferences. Now do you suggest A4000 over E4000? I can't really afford a pricey iem atm. TIA
Hey man! Is there an IEM that will get close to the DT 990 Pro’s? I use them for gaming, and I want to find an IEM that will come close.
Hello Josh, Big fan...and inspired by this review of the A4000's, but for the life of me couldn't find where to purchase them. The link to Final's website brings one to a non-selling site as far as I can tell. And I couldn't even find the A4000's (site very focused on A8000 and E4000). Any suggestions of where I can buy in U.S. (ideally, California)? Thanks!
Final is doing something right, sonorous IV and VI are so beautiful sounding and rich
Would these still sound good when using your smartphone as the source instead of an dedicated amp?
The best soundstage on any iem ive ever heard is still the Sennheiser ie800. If you manage to get your hands on them please review them Josh, would be interesting to see your opinion on it!
this looks really bank for buck iem 🔥🔥
btw bro can u review the Kbear Lark too
Hey Josh, since it has a good soundstage, does that carry over in gaming?
Do you need a headphone amp with this?
I see some holes which looks to be vents...how is driver flex on these?
Hi Joshua! Can you review OneOdio pro 50? They are considered to be very good for the price.
Compared with the final B3? How far off? Probably rushing out to get the A4000 anyway. But would like to know comparing with final B1 & B3 and e2000 & e3000. As most people would most likely have one of these then A8000.
Could you review the Adv. Sound GT3s, Furai, and Model 3?
They don't seem to be available for purchase in the USA? Not even listed on the Final Website.
These are really F#%*IN’ GOOD!
My setup for these are:
IEM: BLON BL-03.
Custom Cable: Acid Purple Hart Audio PC-3: Dual Angled 2-pin (QDC) Balanced IEM Cable w/ a female 4-pin mini XLR and a male 4-pin mini XLR to a 90 degree 3.5mm TRS interconnect line.
Custom Ear Tip: Midnight Purple Eartune Fidelity Custom IEM Ear Tip
Altogether for me is the ultimate band for your buck in an IEM!
Do these IEMs paired with an iPhone benefit from a dac such as the dragonfly black or red?
How do these compare to the starfields? Was aboutta drop $110 for the big purps
How does the sound stage compare to that of the KZ AS10?
I see the high speed storage over there, you building a rig?
Will you be reviewing moondrop blessing 2?
How would this compare to the Sony XBA-N3AP?
plz help me out guys i wanna buy headphone but confused between this and 1more qaud driver any suggestion cuz this a4000 and 1more has similar price point !
I'm thinking about this or Moondrop KXXX. They are exactly same price. Which one should I get?
Would have liked to see the packaging and what it comes with for $150
In terms of soundstage & sound quality against Moondrop starfield how does the A4000 fare?
Is the a4000 worth a $50 upgrade for the moondrop starfield? I'm trying to pair neither of one with fiio btr5 hip dac
Does it require an amp for getiing the best output Josh...
Would you use these for gaming?
Which budget iem would you recommend for Billie Eilish listeners? I listen to mainly pop like dua, Billie, and Taylor… and some old school Mexican ballads like Juan Gabriel, just looking to move on from airpod pros to take advantage of the loseless hi rez Apple Music. Was looking at these and your Moondrop reviews. Any advice would be appreciated! Thank you!
never heard it but the final audio b2 is on amazon for $350 and has a metal housing
I will be buying these. I just started using the Final e3000, which is a very different budget style made of steel, and love the sound.
I'm also using e3000c (with mic version). Its sound is fantastic. Hiw better i's a4000 than this?
Same questions. I've went through multiple pairs of the e series.
Compare to Final B3?
before you buy, if you have a chance, I suggest you guys go to a store nearby and test it, because they're a bit sibilant in the upper, and the vocal is a bit intimate I guess at least to my ear.
Hi which is better sounding
the A4000 or the E4000
thanks a lot
You should try a Sony EX800st or a LZ A6/7(not personally heard). I love the Sony's width and comfort, a great bit of kit IMO.
well, since he tried the ier z1r, i feel as if he'd already gotten a good enough reference on what to expect from the ier m9/m7, personally bought them over the z1r bcz of their substancially better comfort
1more Quad Driver (often at 130 USD) or the Final Audio A4000?
It’s a bit of an Off Topic but I would really appreciate if u could give me some advice. I’m looking for and headphone amp (just amp, no dac) with LINE OUT, so that the volume knob doesn’t control the output volume from the rca. Somthing like the Fiio K5 (not the pro) or topping A30. If anyone could help me I would love it! 💪🏻
this looks steal for me, hopefully it’s available in indonesia
Yeah me too
considering e1000-e4000 is widely available here, I think this will come in the future
Indonesia my brothers
it is available already in here, check out in tokped, but the price is far from the retail price, almost twice
maybe you can check shopee, because retail shop from shopee already sell it
Interesting... having trouble where this item is actually for sale? Thanks.
Which is the best iem under 200$ for indie, pop and hip hop. I want a wider sound staging and want perfect separation of instruments. I do not want sharp treble and im more inclined towards low bass.
Hey Josh, what tips did you use with the A4000? The highs on this IEM are quite elevated and I'm struggling a bit with sibilance
similar to the case of my m9, jam 'em deeper with their smallest tips, works well for me since my ear canals are small as is, but your case may vary
not sure if it is applicable with every iem though
Because it's actually a bad IEM..
Where to buy them?
As you mentioned Starfield, did you have any reviews on KXXS or Blessing 2 please?
I need blessing 2 to be fantastic. Arrives in a few days
@@thewoat6589 I also bought it. I consider it to be of good clarity, tonality, sound stage and resolving ability. Only dislike for me is being to shouty (need to -3db in ~6kHz). But I don't have any IEMs to compare except for ER4 that I have, so I'm really curious
@@jacobzhong3971 theres always gonna be something thats not ideal. Several great reviews and crinacle creaming his pants convinced me
Do you know when these IEMs will be available in the States?
They can be had on headphones.co.uk so probably soon
Teasing the SMSL-SH9 amp there?
Really excited to get my hands on a pair of A4000, if they ever come in stock at MSRP in the states, lmao
Any updates?
Yeah it's 180$ in my marketplace and it's quite rare so I need to wait 3 weeks for the pre order, and there are just Soo many competition at that price range I'm afraid it's not worth it again
Just got my A4000 today. Burned them in for about 9hrs in their case while I was at work. I was pretty turned off at first when I unboxed them because of the build, but I've come to love the lightness and soft plastic build plus they're very very comfortable, they're design makes them very sleep worthy and within the first five seconds I knew I was going to be okay with the tuning. I'm not blown away with the tuning by any means, but I'm happy with my purchase and when it comes to soundstage and imaging these are super fun to listen to! I catch a buzz just trying to follow everything going on in my head. The soundstage is intoxicating, even though the tuning isn't my favorite.
how the soundstage compares to headphones

Affordable pair finally! Great review thank you!
I’m looking for an IEM that will be killer for gaming. I play on PC, and I have an amp. I usually use Sennheiser HD6XXs but sometimes I want to not have full headphones on, or I’m playing on my PlayStation and just want to plug into the controller. I was as close of sound quality as possible to my 6XXs, and I want a soundstage that is at least just as wide. Should I get the A4000 or the Moondrop Starfield?
VR3000?
im waiting for final a5000. maybe it will made from steel housing ;)
i dont like iem with abs/plastic housing.
hate the semi-proprietary CM connectors instead of the traditional MMCX that Final uses on all other IEMs.
I have an extra set of thieaudio legacy 5 if you want to test them out
Is the imaging alright? The stage is irrelvant if imaging is bad
We all curious about that smsl sh9 in the back
Hi Josh, commenting here as well. In your newest video for under $200 you mention you should get the A3000 instead of the A4000… which contradicts what you mention here. Can you please explain the change?
yea josh please
explain your your the change
Where to buy in the US?
Correct me if i am wrong but why should one even focus on soundstage on a pair of in-ear earphones?
Since the plugs are inside the ears themselves, how can one even get the big kind of soundstage since the piece itself is not even interacting with the outer ear like a pair of over-ear/open-back headphone does?
I am a noob at these kinda things, i do get it an in ear will never ever reach the same kind of stage as some over ears does and there is difference here and there between IEM's but it should not even be a thing that should be considered with (atleast how i see it).
With their massive soundstage, would these be good for competitive esports gamers who have to use IEMs? I might have missed it, but hows the directionality? A lot of us come from LANs or tournaments where larger headphones that play white or pink noise are placed on top if a competitors iems of choice in order to block out exterior noise
I would say no, because wide soundstage rather is a disadvantage in positioning/directionality performance, this is true for Headphones. However there are IEMs that positioning good enough while still having a wide soundstage. I have the Audiofly AF180MK2 a pretty wide IEM and comparing it to the "Linsoul Shuoer Tape" I had here for testing, in games the AudioFly were the better support. But I have to say IEMs are not my weapon of choice in competitive shooters and I would clearly pick a Audio-Technica ATH-M60X, SHP-9500 or MMX300 over my AudioFly for directionality.
I have the Philips X2HR and I love em for music (wide soundstage Headphones). But in games it goes to the point that I have barely any idea where the sounds are coming from.
These are great for me in fps. Great soundstage and imaging. Good at vertical audio as well. I love playing with them.

yeah especially when he said they were too light. I would prefer my iems to be as light as possible for comfort.

Currently, I am looking at the Moondrop Aria or Starfields. So between those two and the a4000 which would you recommend?
