Magick is real. Why would there be high presets and mages in history example Merlin and Alexander. We fight like this when we master ourselves. Search joy of Satan if you want to fight like that irl. Read around all is truth.
I hear a lot of 80's classic metal in this and I love it.
That's the reason I don't really like the songs that have come out so far for this album. lol
Kevin I love it all, what ever they want to do I'm down for it. I hear a lot of influences that went into this, I even hear A little bit of the softer Black Sabbath sounds in my opinion, I hear classic 80's all over this. I don't see anything wrong in dabbling in classic it's better than dabbling in mainstream. This song by far is the most different, but different is not bad. You don't want to keep making the same tune over and over Not even Alice Cooper did that especially with his new album, I only heard some short clips of the songs but I like them.
Nobody said they had to make it all the same. I like the majority of their songs on the last 3 albums. Didn't really care for the first album. Some of their lighter songs like Tower and Sky Burial are my favorites. I just don't like the 80's metal/Iron Maiden type music.
Kevin I do, I just dislike when people are so quick to be like they need to go back to their roots, they themselves have said they don't consider themselves a certain genre. It's the comments that I keep seeing, but I wasn't going to not reply when someone comments me. Just my opinion not trying to fight, but if you dislike it I don't I love it.

This is really awesome! This band never fails to amaze me. It's risky to change your style that much, but Avatar definitely knows how. They never disappoint.

Guys, seriously, let off Avatar... They're trying new things. They're not "Getting Softer," they're trying their hands at a softer song. Bands aren't and shouldn't be confined to a single genre like it's law, they're allowed to branch away and explore what might sound good. It may be shit to you, but that doesn't mean you have to tell everyone else that it IS shit. Give constructive criticism, not stupid malice with a comment like: "its not gud bcuz it wasnt heavy"
Spazzy Left the only reason people say its 'soft' is because the vocals don't sound like a bear being slaughtered. The musicianship is astounding and to be admired, but no one seems to be able to get over how different it is.
Agree. It's music which means it just so happens to be entirely subjective and everyone will view it differently and trying new things is smart because everyone should know that a one trick pony is worthless.

@Holden Mcgroine Slayer sucks hardcore except for a few songs. They're only better than Anthrax, and that's because they've always been awful. There are a lot of bands with rough vocals. I'd suggest branching. If you haven't already.

100% agree with your comment. I have listened to A LOT of different music during my short life and at least 50% of it I don't care much for these days. Music tastes change, if bands have to play one style of music their whole career then fans should only listen to one type of music their whole lives... Can you imagine how lame that would be.I know musicians whos music went down a different path than me, but I appreciate all the good memories of good music I have from them and I like to show that appreciation by not hating on their new stuff or calling it shit.

This is the song that got me into Avatar. Didn't like it at first but sometimes the best music has to grow on you. Avatar is now my favorite band. There fucking amazing live.

Avatar: The only band that can make a song that sounds nothing like them but exactly as awesome as anything they would normally write at the same time.
Avatar are one of those bands where I don't always like their new stuff at first listen, but from the second listen on I love it. And for people who are saying that they don't like how much thy changed their sound, Avatar are one of the most experimental metal bands of the 21st century. They started as a melodeath band with their first three albums but starting with Black Waltz onward they have had no specific sound.

This is different than the usual Avatar I'm used to but in my opinion I think it's still pretty good love the band like number one or two
Avatar put so much into their previous album which was a Masterpiece. Time - creativity - a book that went with it. I am not surprised they scaled things back. Hopefully it still a good album.
